[Cancelled] Caprica (Season 1)

lol.. too much drama and no action. What the hell is this series about?. Except the cylon thing the rest was pure waste of time. I could find more action on a glee episode any day any time :p

Go watch a Micheal Bay film if you don't care about story line.

Capirca was a good mix.

This really sucks. Although yes, the last few episodes have been low energy, the story line is the most important part here. I'm going to miss this show. If they do get rid of SG:U too, then the only two shows I currently watch on TV will be gone. They should of got rid of Sanctuary instead of Caprica!!!

Anyone else catch the irony here?:

The remaining first run episodes of Caprica airing Tuesdays at 10/9c will be removed from the schedule as of next Tuesday, November 2, said the network in a statement. These final five episodes of the season will be re-scheduled to air at a to be announced time in the first quarter of 2011, and will conclude the run of the series.

Seriously though, this does **** me off, even moreso than the cancellation of FlashForward.

WTF

They schedule it at a horrible time, break up the season so I didn't even know it came back on and wonder why it didn't do so well? I am still catching up and all of the sudden I see it's canceled! Why even bother watching shows anymore if they're just going to be canceled and leave you hanging? The same thing happened with TSCC. I'm so freaking sick of TV.

I guess the time slot is bad for some people, but it really doesn't matter for me since I generally DVR it. But how in the hell did you miss all of the commercials talking about the second half of the season starting up?

I actually had moved from Ohio to Arizona and hadn't watched much tv since and I wasn't used to the time change yet. I hadn't watched anything on SyFy (stupid name) since Caprica and SGU went off.

I don't feel sorry for its cancelation. I liked the beginning when the story seemed to revolve around an almost Frankenstein-ish plot. But this show has recently been all about tauron "mafia", religion and terrorism. It barely has sci-fi anymore.

It barely has sci-fi anyome.

That was the original pitch. It was never meant to be "sci-fi" it was meant to be about the universe in which BSG exists. Face it, the latter parts of BSG were not sci-fi, they were about greed, corruption, perverted religions, obsession and paranoia.

I personally think the whole syfy schedule is fked up. get rid of wrestling, wtf does wrestling have to do with syfy? put the shows back on friday night, them being scattered in the week doesn't help much. I don't want to see friday night smackdown, now I play video games or watch a movie on another channel. SG, Caprica, Warehouse 13 and Sanctuary should all be on a friday night line up or maybe sat or sun night, not scattered in the week. Having them scattered is one sure way of watching the boat sink...next up will be baseball on the syfy network.

    • Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms looming price hikes due to memory shortages by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Memory and chip shortages have led to significant price increases for electronics over the past year, and it seems that more hikes are on the way for upcoming smartphones and computers. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company is planning to increase the prices of some of its products due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook confirmed the looming price hikes for Apple’s future products, adding that “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable.” He also said the company is doing its best to “mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.” The Apple CEO also noted that the allocation of a large portion of memory chips to AI companies has contributed to shortages in the market, resulting in lower supply at a time when demand for devices remains high. “We definitely need memory pricing and supply to return to reasonable levels for consumer products. That’s the bottom line,” Cook said. Cook also added that Apple is ready to use its vast cash reserves to help boost supply in the market because additional production capacity is needed. While he declined to specify how Apple plans to do that, he said the company will not build its own memory and storage factories despite its financial resources and silicon expertise. Cook did not provide further details on the scale of the price increases or which Apple products would be affected, though iPads and Macs could see higher prices sooner than other products. Apple’s next product launch event is scheduled for September, when the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone. It remains unclear whether the upcoming iPhones will be affected by the price increases, but given the current memory shortage, higher prices seem increasingly likely. There is currently no clear timeline for the end of the memory shortage. Samsung, one of the world’s three largest memory chip manufacturers, recently said the shortage could persist for several more years.

    • +1000 to this, don't understand why they added that margin around the top bar, even the close button is a PITA to click without aiming. Ofc, this is just preview and hopefully they will revert such odd UX decision before hitting final version.
