I can't see Ryan Reynolds play the serious role of Hal Jordan. He's a comical type guy and most movies he plays a guy that you would laugh at....

maybe when they release a teaser and see his take on the role...maybe.

saw this great Fan Made trailer also....looks good from the videomaker's perspective...lol he got some skillz.

Like last year's Iron Man movie, we'll get a sense of why Hal is in the Green Lantern costume, not just what the costume is, and the most interesting scenes will involve Hal out of his costume. Also, this won't be a traditional origin story, that labors over setting up the character, says Ryan Reynolds:

It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act. The movie starts when it starts. We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins.

Blake Lively in the running for Green Lantern role

Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively is set to star in the new comic book superhero movie, Green Lantern.

The 22-year-old blonde star is being lined-up to play the love interest of the main character Hal Jordan - who is played by Ryan Reynolds.

However, Blake reportedly faces stiff competition for the part as Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger and Eva Green are also in the running.

A source said: "Blake would be amazing in this role. She has a busy 2010 promoting The Town, but she would love to play a part in a superhero film."

Green Lantern tells the story of Hal Jordan, an ordinary man chosen by an alien to receive an energy ring that can be used to protect the planet.

Filming is due to begin in 2010, with a rumoured summer 2011 release date.

Martin Cambell, who previously worked on Casino Royale, is to direct the movie, leading some to speculate that former Bond girl Eva may be his choice for the role.

A Green Light for Green Lantern

There wasn?t any doubt that Warner Bros.? Green Lantern would be going forward, but the film now has an official greenlight, says visual effects supervisor Karen Goulekas. ?Green Lantern got the official green light today,? Goulekas announced on her blog. ?And not a second too soon - only 10 weeks out from shooting!? While plenty of work has been done on the film, the green light allows money to really flow out to the production, so Goulekas and her crew now have two and a half months to get things together for a film that may include up to 1300 effects shots. [via SuperHeroHype]

Martin Campbell will direct Green Lantern, which stars Ryan Reynolds and is scheduled for release on June 17, 2011.

Blake Lively to star in 'Green Lantern'

Blake Lively has landed the female lead role in "Green Lantern" as Carol Ferris opposite Ryan Reynolds in Warner Bros.' live-action film based on the DC Comics hero.

Martin Campbell will direct. Production is expected to begin in March with a release date set for June 17, 2011.

Greg Berlanti wrote the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green. Michael Goldenberg's rewriting.

Donald DeLine's producing with Berlanti. DeLine VP Andrew Haas is exec producing.

"Green Lantern" was hatched in 1940. Hal Jordan, a second-generation test pilot, is an ordinary man who has been charged with defending a sector of the universe with a mystical green ring. His love interest Carol Ferris is a pilot and administrator in civilian life.

The studio and Campbell tapped Reynolds for title role in July, following his performances in "The Proposal" and as Deadpool in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," a performance that prompted Fox to begin development on a spinoff film.

Lively's currently seen on "Gossip Girl" and in indie drama "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee." She's in Warners' upcoming crime drama "The Town" opposite Ben Affleck. Credits include "Accepted" and the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" titles.

Campbell directed the Mel Gibson-starrer "Edge of Darkness," based on the 1985 BBC miniseries that Campbell helmed. Warners is releasing "Edge of Darkness" Jan. 29.

If you want to take a character like Green Lantern, who in the public eye is decidedly second-string, and make a giant Iron Man-sized success out of him, you?ve got to have a cast that can make the material sing. So far Warner Bros. is doing well by hiring Ryan Reynolds to play Hal Jordan / Green Lantern and Blake Lively to play Carol Ferris, but that doesn?t quite stack up against nabbing Robert Downey, Jr. for Iron Man.

But WB and director Martin Campbell may have made the perfect move here by grabbing Peter Sarsgaard to play the film?s villain. And no, he?s not been cast as Sinestro.

ZV0fj.jpg

THR?s Heat Vision blog reports that Sarsgaard is in talks to play Dr. Hector Hammond, ?the pathologist son of a senator who is seen as a disappointment in his father?s eyes? and eventually develops powers of his own after contact with a meteor. Those powers include mind reading and mind control, depending on the version of Hammond in question. This is sounding like WB is hewing close to the Geoff Johns version of Green Lantern?s origin. Here?s the WikiPedia synopsis of Hammond as he appears in that story

Jackie Earle Haley Still Said to be a Contender for Green Lantern?s Sinestro

The other day when Peter Sarsgaard was cast as Hector Hammond, the primary villain in Green Lantern, a few evidently took this as implicit confirmation that classic Green Lantern baddie Sinestro is not in the film. That isn?t the case, and HitFix has a great rundown on what role the eventually villainous Sinestro plays in the film, and in the series overall should the first film be successful enough to warrant another.

Drew?s piece is good, and kicks off with one point: that while he?s denied doing any screentests, Warner Bros. is keen to cast Jackie Earle Haley as Sinestro. As Drew says, ?The groundwork is being laid in the first Lantern for a much larger role for Sinestro later on if this first movie does well, and they like the idea of continuing their relationship with Haley.?

And what of the character? Those familiar with various Green Lantern origin stories know that Sinestro isn?t a bad guy at the outset. He?s another member of the Green Lantern Corps (intergalactic peacekeepers, basically) whose methods are a bit more totalitarian than most. Eventually he becomes an antagonist.

Furthermore, Drew makes the film sound as if it could be packed with characters ? ?damn near continuity porn for comic fans,? he says. So Hector Hammond (Sarsgaard) is a primary villain, but there?s more. Ryan Reynolds? character Hal Jordan becomes Green Lantern after encountering a dying alien named Abin Sur, who was pursued to Earth by a foe named Legion ? essentially an insectoid hive mind in a mechanical body. He?s in the film, and Drew hints at ?another major villain? as well.

So there?s a lot to do. Which means that we may not see much of Sinestro in the movie, but as things stand now he?s evidently a part of the recipe. Better to set him up now, get the origin out of the way and then be able to go into a full-on Green Lantern / Sinestro conflict in another film.

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.

Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
