Whats the difference between Winamp 2.8, 2.9 and 3?

I used to use 3 until I changed to Classix as the skins didnt work with 3, but what I really want to know is whats different from 2.8 and 2.9?

Winamp 2.90b (b for beta) is essentially an updated version of Winamp 2.81. It includes support for video playback (which works fairly well) and also adds a 'media library', and a new method of skinning plugins. There is a full list of features / fixes / changes here.

So far it seems very quick and stable :)

Winamp 3 is a totally new version, written from scratch rather than built on any earlier version of Winamp. It allows freeform skinning and a pretty flexible and comprehensive plugin system. Unfortunately, it's also slow, buggy and bloated (IMO), and slightly AOL-ish. Personally I am sticking with Winamp 2.xx - particularly as now with the release of 2.90b there is no real reason to use 3...

The BSPlayer skin and the new Winamp skin will hopefully be released with the next version of the Classix VS, which will hopefully be soon

so I think it will be included in the next release of classix

Not to be a bothersome user, but saint-dark was supposed to have looked into hosting are you going to use it? if so i would be very honored :)

-Or at least be a mirror. I will setup your own account if you'd like, so that you can use it for everything desktops.. etc rather than just classix if used via saint-dark.
