Lost - Season 5

Question: Any major character deaths on Lost this season? -- Sophie

Ausiello: None that I know of, but, after screening the first two eps, it certainly looks like a female cast-member isn't long for this world. The fact that she was recently cast in a big Hollywood movie doesn't bode well either.

Will this season have a episode 0, to recap on the seasons? Just wondering because my dad can't remember half of it and can't be bothered watching them all ;)

Expect Sky 1 to have a catch up episode, as will ABC.

I got all the boxsets in the January sales (including season 4 blu-ray for ?23!) and i have just finished watching them all. So i'm all up to date again ready for the first episode:))

I'm going spoiler free this season. I usually read a bit of the episode summaries but not this time... i think i said this last season too.

Latest from Ausiello - Update About Charlotte

As most of you know, Charlotte is seen with a nosebleed in promos and in some angles it even seems like she is passed out.

Well when Ausiello from EW was asked about a major character death he said that he does not know of any, but that a "female cast-member isn't long for this world." He confirms that this character recently signed a Hollywood movie and that means it probably does not look to good as well.

Of course he is talking about Charlotte, but I have no idea if he is saying she might die!?

What do you all think?

Digital Spy Teases Premiere

The producers have previously said that in season five, the notion of flashbacks and flashforwards will be less important. Indeed, the show seems to have a new catchphrase/question that reflects that perfectly.

All will become clear when season five premieres in a couple weeks time (Sun, Jan 25 in the UK and Wed, Jan 21 in the US). For now though, here's some things I can tell you about the opener:

* Shortly after meeting Ben at the funeral house, Jack shaves off that awful beard.

* We witness the construction of the most important Dharma station of all.

* Daniel makes it back onto the island.

* Richard Alpert gives Locke something important - and insists it be returned to him in short order.

* Hurley hearts little dogs.

* Desmond has an epiphanic "flashback" of his own.

* At least two characters return from the dead. Sort of.

* Hurley gets a lot of help from his parents.

* The camp disappears.

* Ben is working to a deadline.

Great sneak peek peewee (Y)

Thanks. Reckon you will like this one better though (Sneak Peak 2)

Care to explain what the pop-ups were?

I think he means the pop-ups right at the beginning of the video.

He's referring to the enhanced episodes that frequently shows text at the bottom of the screen while the episode is playing. Some of them serve as a reminder of a past event or person that is somehow linked to that particular scene, other times it's something retarded, like when Jack was walking to the funeral home and a car almost hit him; the text for that moment read, "Look out, Jack!"

I own three seasons on DVD and one on Blu-Ray. Why would I watch reruns on TV?

For the 'enhanced' texts.

Jedi ... since you're the only one that seems to have watched it ... did you catch the 'flashes' hidden at the ends of some of the promos? Something about 'event detected'.

    • Uhm, that's every business ever, though. It doesn't matter if a bajillion users are using it. As long as it's not making bank, it's probably headed for the graveyard.
    • Yeah Patchou was an active member here, good ol' times indeed.
    • Samsung is the new Google... they don't care if millions of people are using it.
    • Still no word on Tides of Annihilation...... so weird that it wasn't shown at the big Game Fest. Guess I'll put it in the bin like Judas and Squadron 42.
    • Samsung is shutting down yet another app used by millions by David Uzondu Samsung has announced that it is shutting down Samsung Max, its VPN service used by more than 50 million people, effective today. Samsung Max VPN, if you don't know, was an Android app born on February 23, 2018, out of the ashes of Opera Max, a very popular data-saving VPN that Opera had discontinued the previous year. Samsung bought the discontinued service, rebranded it, and added a native Samsung UI to fit the Galaxy ecosystem. The app could do things like compress images, help you manage background data on a per-app basis, reduce video data consumption, shrink music files, optimize webpages, block advertisement trackers in incognito mode, and encrypt your internet traffic on public Wi-Fi networks. Image via SammyGuru If you open the app now, you'd be greeted by a shutdown banner warning that all VPN, data saving, and privacy services stopped functioning on June 15, 2026. The creators failed to provide a reason for the shutdown, instead publishing a farewell note that read: "Thank you for being with us over the years. Your support and activity truly meant a lot to us and helped shape this app into what it became." This same message appears on the Google Play Store listing for the app as well. Max VPN is the latest service from Samsung to join the list of discontinued applications from the company. Just two months ago, the Korean tech giant announced that it is completely shutting down Samsung Messages, forcing millions of users to migrate to Google Messages by next month. The only devices that the shutdown won't affect are older smartphones running Android 11 or lower. Some of the features of Google Messages that Samsung hopes will entice users include AI-powered scam detection to block suspicious links, integrated Gemini AI tools to generate quick replies, custom chat bubbles, and universal RCS compatibility for sharing high-quality media with iOS users. The platform also offers seamless syncing across tablets and smartwatches. In addition to that, users gain access to message scheduling, smart classification, and automated category sorting.
