Lost - Season 5

Recommended Posts

From the spoilers revealed, we find Miles, Sawyer, etc in Dharma clothes. So, one can only assume they are stuck in the 1970s. We also see Jack and co. in Dharma clothes, so they arrive at the Island in its past - 1970s while DI was still on the Island.

Good, bvecause I want to know more about the DI and what the hell it is? why they're there? do they know what the island is? how come they left? why they were watching the hatch? So many questions. . .

Haven't had time to read up on the last pages but what an episode! Best episode of the season so far, there was so much to take in from that episode. Christian, Charlotte being born on the island and smokey!

Your questions have already been touched on if not fully answered already by the plot and/or interviews with the writers. Have a quick read over here: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/DHARMA_Initiative

Indeed, one great episode.

One thing that I fail at getting right: The O6 have been off the Island for 3 years now. Back at the Island, it seems not so much time have passed (Jin just made it to the Island). Anyone to shed some light on this one ?

Their bodies are what they are in early 2005, but at some point the island will be in 2008 at some location because the O6 get back, somehow. Theoretically, they'll skip those three years if or when the island moves/shifts to 2008.

That I get. What I mean is, if the O6 have been off the Island for 3 years time period, why hasn't the ones on the Island experienced the same "period of time", regardless of the date ? :/

Well because they're skipping around in time, so they could easily speak 3 years out or go back 3 years with no "period of time". I think John turning the wheel must of landed him in 2007.

uhmm.....

Even if they are traveling back and forth through time, they are still living in their present, hence living their lives in the future of the present. Present being whatever time they jump into. So, I think once the Island stopped in the 1970s - those people who are from the future (Sawyer, Miles, etc.) live 3 years of their life on the Island with Dharma folk in the 70s (possibly as Dharma workers and/or Hostiles).

From what we know now, I think the time jumping part took approx. ~ 1 week from the 3 years the O6 + Ben have been living. So, when Locke jumps back to original timeline, he probably lives out his life in those 2-3 years with the O6 + Ben before they all go back to the Island in 1970s.

Though I could be wrong on this. There is a 31 minute differences between the Island's snow-globe region and rest of the Earth. So, this may play into the slower time of the people on the Island in comparison to the O6 + Ben, etc. I think with next week's episode, things might get a bit clearer with regards to the timelines.

Episode 6 Sneak Peak 1 and Sneak Peak 2

All I can say is the next episode is going to be so good, and where is Aaron :s was he taken or something. Also so Dharma used The Lamp Post station (off island) to find the island

Yeah loving the new name of the station and the logo!

Jin Spills Some Upcoming Stuff!

The "smoke monster" has plagued our castaways since the show began, and is famous for having killed Mr. Eko. Producer Damon Lindelof has called it "one of the biggest secrets."

Not only will viewers get to see its lair, but Kim says the monster is "as old as the island."

In regards to the atomic bomb that was recently discovered on the island, Kim suggests that we'll find more about that as the series wraps up.

"That's a huge red herring if it's a red herring," he said. Nothing is ever just a coincidence on this island, so we'll be seeing the bomb again.

Last but definitely not least, Kim also said that viewers shouldn't get too worked up over a reunion of Jin and his wife Sun (played by Yunjin Kim) just yet. Fans only recently found out that Jin had survived the freighter explosion, and even Sun thinks he is dead.

Though Sun will return to the island, Kim said the events don't mean "they're particularly in the same place or chronologically in the same time."

Next episode is shaping up to be one of the best of the season from promos and screencaps. I hope when the O6 return back to the island we get to see heaps of Dharma and presumably we will if they are stuck in the 1970's. Just to clear something up, at the end of the previous episode where they show the Frozen Donkey Wheel and it is turning flashing green light behind it, it is dislodged and spinning out of control causing the time to skip to rapidly and once Locke puts it back in place it will be fixed though in a random time zone (presumably 1970)?

Yeah I am looking forward to the dharma episodes!

Well considering the events that *just* occurred on the island (as we see it) are of the "real" timeline, Jin after the explosion of the boat and wreckage was at the "real" timeline, hence Rousseau meeting Jin (in the past) are events on the "real" alternate timeline. Rousseau wouldn't have recognized Jin before because it was from the "different" timeline, so shouldn't Rousseau only recognize Jin starting from *now* meaning at the "real" timeline, but she would suddenly remember meeting Jin from her memories, where as when she saw him previously it would not have occured.

No, that be a mistake thinking of a parallel/alternate/different timeline occurring. By your reasoning, after Ethan shot Locke, then next flash (next alternate timeline), Alpert shouldn't have been able to know that event occurred.

Just two more days until we get some clarity on the time travel issue.

    • Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users by Ivan Jenic Image: Microsoft Microsoft has announced that Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now generally available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Planner Agent is the latest addition in the string of AI features that Microsoft is implementing across virtually all of its products. The agent lets you manage tasks through natural language prompts directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create and update tasks, check priorities, and get insights about current entries without leaving the chat interface. The general availability release comes with a handful of new additions on top of what was available during the initial rollout. A new plan picker lets you search and filter your plans by name, then update task names, statuses, due dates, or priorities through the agent. There's also a goals bucket now, which lets you group tasks under specific goals. This builds on the Goals view, a feature that was introduced as part of the broader Planner refresh that rolled out earlier. Image: Microsoft | Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot All AI-generated plans and tasks are created in draft mode by default, so you can review and approve changes before anything goes through. This is actually a thoughtful safety feature, because trusting AI to handle all your tasks without a human in the loop is usually a recipe for disaster. Having tasks initially saved as drafts is the best possible middle ground. Microsoft also says that not all tasks are executed equally. Simple tasks get processed quickly, while more complex ones, like building a plan from a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, are handed to a more capable model. Microsoft says this approach delivers the best performance, but it could also help with usage management, as you won't have to waste tokens on performing simple tasks. Planner Agent is available now across Teams, Loop, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps for anyone on a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.
    • To be clear I'm anti trump, the bigger point is why review this game at all?
    • Trillion dollar Microsoft has to reduce spending by hurting more people. Good job Microsoft. Good Job Asha.
    • That's a shame. The big Xbox reset when Phil and Sarah left and then Asha came on and brought a new team of executives, and all the layoffs last year and saying that the ABK merger wouldn't result in redundancies I am surprised they are calling for yet another reset and yet more layoffs.
