Lost - Season 5

Actually it didn't need to be an alternate timeline, so my mistake on wording. Same as Desmond meeting Faraday, it could have occured, but it would not have been "revealed" if the flashback were not shown. Same as Rousseau, it would have occured that they met, but there is no way of revealing the fact that Rousseau's seen Jin until she suddenly recalls this memory.

Well considering the events that *just* occurred on the island (as we see it) are of the "real" timeline, Jin after the explosion of the boat and wreckage was at the "real" timeline, hence Rousseau meeting Jin (in the past) are events on the "real" alternate timeline. Rousseau wouldn't have recognized Jin before because it was from the "different" timeline, so shouldn't Rousseau only recognize Jin starting from *now* meaning at the "real" timeline, but she would suddenly remember meeting Jin from her memories, where as when she saw him previously it would not have occured.

There is only one timeline. All events occur on it. So everything they do in the 'past' has occured already. So yes, Jin was there the 'first time' with Danielle on the island.

Why doesn't she recognize him? No idea. Maybe it will get explained, maybe not. I think they'll just go with 'she's crazy!'

It was different with Desmond because he was 'special'.

I disagree. Daniel knew about Desmond after all those years, hence "Desmond is my constant" written in Daniel's notebook. So, after Desmond travelled to Oxford back in the past, Daniel knew about the events that were about to happen.

The thing about Desmond and Faraday I believe, is that Desmond is special because he was literally time travelling to trigger events that have significant differences to the overall story, meaning Faraday thinks Desmond is his constant knowing the fact that Desmond was in Oxford when he was doing his research, he would meet up on the island, and he would have told him to find his mother for triggering events in the future. Desmond is special because he was an event trigger for Faraday, who has the knowledge of events on hte timeline.

To get back to the original discussion, Rousseau probably have met Jin but she would not have remembered until she recalls this memory, like Desmond recalling the fact that he has met Faraday. So I was wrong on my first statement 2 of my posts ago.

But you're not understanding that it is only a single timeline. Desmond always met Daniel (at Oxford), Jin always met Rousseau. The reason Desmond suddenly 'remembers' is because he is 'special'. So he can get things passed through him through time. This isn't true for Rousseau.

So what if Jin went back and killed Rousseau. That would break stuff.

Those types of scenarios aren't applicable to Lost because there is a single timeline, and we know that she was alive when the plane crashed, as such she couldn't have been shot.

Yeah I acknowledge that and expresses in the previous post. Maybe DomZ makes it clearer, that he is special that he is able to shares consciousness over time.

Given the title of an upcoming episode, I'm wondering:

Maybe Daniel has caused a major disruption/distortion in time (a few, maybe). A recent shot of him looking at his notebook showed him (at least to me) looking somewhat puzzled or disturbed. Could his actions be causing the contents of the notebook to change? When the camera turned to show the pages, I thought that it showed rather blank pages - I'm wondering if what he was noticing was a change in the book, perhaps the "Desmond Hume is my Constant" entry - missing? IIRC, that entry was prefaced by something along the lines of "If experiment goes wrong,". Perhaps something changed that caused the "experiment" to be a success, but caused complications in the timeline. I think he may be starting to doubt his "the past cannot be changed" and auto-correct nature of time theories.

Somethings that's been bugging me. Do you think Alpert told the rest of the Others about John Locke before the 815 crash?

For instances, this scene in Par Avion (Scene 3, Episode 12) -

He was about to say paralytic, so i think its because ben looked for his info outside the island, nothing to do with Alpert, Alpert didn't see Locke was paralytic, maybe he did know but its nothing like time travel i think....

This show is getting ridicious now.

Season 5 so far has been the most disappointing of tv shows i have ever seen. Not only has changed alot, It is also very boring and tedious. I know Lost has always been a slow mover in terms of getting anywhere but it has got to the point that most of what happens is completely unrealistic and would never happen. Only the die-hard Lost fans will still keep with this show, But IMO the show has lost its way now.

They should of just ended it at Season 4.

<garbage>

If you don't appreciate good story telling, you are more than welcome to ignore it. LOST is a science fiction/drama show, obviously its not going to be realistic. What delusional world are you in thinking a TV Show has to be realistic?

LOST, after five seasons and counting still remains the same as the very first pilot episodes, intriguing and complex that your brain actually has an opportunity to put pieces together without being spoon fed all the answers.

Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean it is garbage :|

At the moment, That is what i think of the show right now and i know quite a few people who have been Lost fanatics have gone elsewhere or do not feel the same as they did.

It's quite obvious that you fell that I insulted you with what i said so i am going to make a wild guess and say you are a die-hard Lost fan ;)

It's about the only show on par with Battlestar Galactica for a Sci-fi/drama. Yes, I'm a fan (not die-hard); I have my problem with some things as well. But, I won't argue that LOST has lost its way. No evidence of such, if you had watched the show in its continuity without the week long breaks, things will start making sense for people who are confused, which I assume is you.

This show is getting ridicious now.

Opinion.

Season 5 so far has been the most disappointing of tv shows i have ever seen.

Not only has changed alot,

Cite examples please.

It is also very boring and tedious.

What? Thats not even close to correct. There has been more advancement of the plot and revelations in S5 then all of S4.

I know Lost has always been a slow mover in terms of getting anywhere

Opinion.

but it has got to the point that most of what happens is completely unrealistic and would never happen.

So the smoke monster, people surviving a mid-air breakup, crazy hostiles on an island, island that can't be found, etc etc etc were all fine, but NOW you have a problem?

What exactly is so 'unrealistic'? Examples please.

Only the die-hard Lost fans will still keep with this show,

Well, this is partially true. Gaining new viewers now is next to impossible. If you are calling anyone that watches every episode a die-hard, then you're right. But there are millions of viewers who don't do anything else related to Lost other than watch it weekly. I wouldn't consider them die-hard, just dedicated.

But IMO the show has lost its way now.

Opinion.

They should of just ended it at Season 4.

Stupid.

Oh wow, I missed the anagram on the side of the van.

Since the writers didn't choose 'resurrection' is it possible Locke will not be the same old Locke played by Terry once he returns? Or is it possible to reincarnate into one's previous form?

That's what i said my opinion

But wait, Isn't that your opinion aswell

It's very clear you are the die-hard as anything anyone might say negative towards the show you will be there to defend it which you just did.

In the past i have seen people from in this thread go into other threads, say e.g. Prison Break and just slag it to pieces how IN THEIR OPINION the show is just rubbish and goes nowhere. Some of what they say probably is true in an extent like all shows have there weaknesses, But it's like people in here worship Lost and like everything about it.

Why is it stupid that Lost should of ended at Season 4? Would you been upset then?

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets big bug-fixing and balancing update by Taras Buria Today, Playground Games released a big Forza Horizon 6 update with a long list of fixes, patches, and balancing tweaks that the studio promised earlier. Version 375.327 is now available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox, offering users improvements for AI, audio, design, performance, road discovery, upgrades, visuals, online play, and more. Some of the most notable changes in the Series 2 update include rebalanced drivatars, particularly their difficulty and race start behavior. As such, the game should be more balanced on higher difficulty levels, and AI cars should not shoot out when the race starts as if they have rocket boosters. Speaking of difficulty, developers nerfed Drag Tires physics for a more expected and realistic behavior. They are no longer the go-to option for record-breaking times in road racing, and all leaderboard entries with drag tires will be removed. Completionists will also be glad to get a new feature that lets you see road discovery percentage in each region, which should make discovering all roads easier while keeping it quite challenging and interesting (I spent quite a long time finding the last road). Festival Playlist is also getting some much-needed fixes, including patches for bugs that allowed completing Seasonal Jobs ahead of time or where weekly challenges would not unlock for some players. Developers will retroactively give reward points to all who could not complete all challenges due to these bugs. Other changes include changes to Horizon Play progression so that it is easier to reach Level 100, audio improvements on lower-spec devices, fixes for visual glitches, including pixelated smoke, and more. Developers also addressed the currently non-working Eliminator, an online mode gamers used to farm credits with a Hummer EV exploit. Playground Games plans to re-enable it soon. As a gesture of goodwill, players will get a free McLaren Sabre. Those who used the exploit will not be banned, but developers plan to roll back credits to a maximum of 10M for all who farmed credits using the exploit. You can find the complete changelog for the latest Forza Horizon 6 update here.
