Lost - Season 5

Such a good episode! What's the deal with Aaron? Is he not coming back to the island?

I'm thinking someone took him. They went back the the island 46 hours AFTER going in the church with ms hawkings. Before that they were at that boat dock when kate took off.

With out arron, she has no one or anything. Her mom is dieing or already dead, (didnt have a good relationship with her anyway) jack would be going back and sawyer was left on the island. Whats left for her? Nothing, so she chose to go back to the island to be with the people she has called "family" for over 3 months

 what ever man....

I agree

mehhhh, "i agree"

this is why i never join forums...

you people act as if you're discussing world peace, or arguing the cure for cancer or something

you're talking about a television show...so call it what it is, act more respectful, and just TRY to be a little more tolerant

we all know everyone wants to be 'RIGHT' and know the 'MOST'... but honestly, put ur ###### and rulers away and just talk about 'lost' and CHILL OUT while you do so.

Who is that guy, looks a bit like ben?

Didnt ben say that he didnt know Locke commited suicide when Jack asked?

Naughty Ben.

Its either ben or richard in that pic.

It's Ben

Well, Ben always lies, even Ms. Hawking knows that.

Ben's also a pathological liar, so chances are he knew and possibly had a hand in helping Locke commit suicide.

All that proves is that the Army got to the island in 1954, which we knew already. Notice the date too, September 23, 1954. I don't think it links the DI and US Army any more than it means someone in the DI can get their hands on classified pictures.

No, try and think about it before dismissing it.

The Lamppost, a Dharma station, was created in order to find the Island, i.e. before 1970s. We know the US military was able to get to the Island in 1954. What does this imply? This should be obvious, but I’ll explain anyways. It shows that the US Army had to have used the same station to get the Island. As Ellie said, the Island is always moving and that X professor figured out a way to find the Island. Hence, that same professor would have worked with the US military. It’s just more logical and plausible that the US Army and Dharma worked together finding that Island during lets say 1920s – 1954s to get to the Island.

No, I don't think they ever end up living those three years. They jump back to the DI time period and go from there. Just because three years passed off-island (05 to 08) doesn't mean that three years had to pass on island with all the time jumps. Live a portion of them, sure, but I would say more like 2-3 months rather than 3 years.

Yes, it does mean that. Living on the Island doesn’t mean you lose years off your life. We know Daniel works with the construction crew, Daniel finds Charlotte, Charlotte learning Korean (possibly from Jin). They basically made a life in those 2-3 years in the 1970s.

What evidence, if any do you have that supports “2-3 months”? Nothing…

I wonder how many truths have been told by Ben that were automatically assumed to be lies?

I guess a fair few!

I bet he knows that the island the has been moving around in time as well. We shall see next week.

I am right to think that after next week's episode, there is a week break?

From what I can tell, there is no longer going to be a break, unless they moved the break back. The list of episodes has #14 airing near the middle of April, leaving three more episodes to air, so maybe the break occurs before the May sweeps.

Hrm.... according to a spoiler site I frequently visit, Namaste is only the 11th, but they're probably wrong.

So, Desmond has been saving the world all this time. Typing the numbers in every 108 minutes was moving the Island in space-time. After blowing the Swan station up, either Ellie + Widmore or separately used the Lamppost to bring the freighter in.

Well we did see Penny's people find the island because of the electromagnetic anomaly and they were someplace with a harsh winter, which couldn't have been Los Angeles.

How Charles Widmore found it, though, could have possibly been through Daniel through Eloise to find it. Hopefully we'll find out.

DHARMA was founded in 1970.

Also, the Army got to the island by accident. They were not planning on going there. Therefore they didn't have the Lamp-Post or anything else to get there. The classified pic was probably taken because it was to be the site of the hydrogen bomb testing.

Its not 'living' on the island. Its moving through time. They don't 'age' any faster, they just move into a different time period. When Ben moved 8 months into the future when he turned the wheel, did he lose those 8 months 'off his life'? No, he just moved in time. Same applies here.

What evidence do I have that supports its only a few months? None, but either do you to say they lived all three years in the 70s. It doesn't make sense to just assume that since 3 years passed off-island, 3 years also passed after all the time shifts on the island.

DHARMA was founded in 1970.

Dharma in my argument being those people involved in finding the Island for US Army (1950s) and Dharma (1970s). Hence, the relation. Can't believe you won't accept the obvious.

Who's talking about them aging faster? Reread my argument, don't make up stuff. Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, Daniel, Jin, and any other Losties are stuck in the 1970s. This is fact now.

Those flashes occurred right after Ben pushed the TDW. Jin has been floating all this time right after the freighter explosion. Sawyer, Locke, Juliet, Miles, Daniel, Charlotte have being trying to reach the Orchid right after the Island disappeared from the original timeline. Yes, they are moving back in time, however, they are not skipping time off their lives.

It makes absolute sense. If X amount of time went by in Y location, then X amount of time went by in Z location.

Believe whatever you want, it will be explained soon enough.

one thing you are forgetting, time passes differently on the island then it does off the island, there is a delay or whatever.

    • Hello, It would appear so, according to https://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-to-hide-your-home-on-google-maps-apple-maps-204146687.html. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, The Nvidia Founders Edition 3080 video card is approximately six years old, correct? Have you looked into whether replacement fans are available for it? Perhaps replacing those will improve cooling, especially when combined with cleaning the card's heatsink and replacing the thermal interface materials. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, While ~104 GB of space may seem generous (at least compared to other e-readers which have 8-32GB), I feel at this price point the device should have a Micro SDXC card slot for expansion, particularly if it allows audio books to be installed and played. I hope to see more reviews of 6" phone-sized e-readers on Neowin in the future. It will be interesting to see how they compare. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
