Lost - Season 5

Did anyone notice the name of the place in the church? The Lamppost. Is that a reference to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe? The Lamppost was how the children found their way in and out of Narnia.

Yep its a great reference.

EDIT: Walt is in episode 7, just saw the set list. Could he be involved in some way?

In "There's No Place Like Home: Part 2" from Season 4, Walt told Hurley that Locke came to see him. So, we are going to see all of Locke's visits with the O6 and Ben. Perhaps, even Helen and obviously Widmore from the preview.

Great episode :p Back to great witty comments from Ben "How can you read?" "My mother taught me :) "

What's even funnier about this is that Ben's mom died during child birth. Even for simple, small things this guy lies :p

I'm even more confused/angry at the show now. If the losties who wanted to return to the island (Jack, Sun, Kate etc.) but had to use the aeroplane method to get there, then how did the military guys get there via cargo ship and helicopter, I mean the island is constantly moving, right?

:/

Maybe the island was some how anchored down for a period of time.

Maybe, the only other theory is that Ben triggered the island to go crazy and move everywhere, then Locke proceeded to halt it again, but that would go against Faraday's mother and ''the island is always moving''.

I think what Ellie meant by saying, "the Island is always moving, then subsequently saying, “that’s why no one could rescue you” was because of Desmond.

As Desmond/Kevin/Radzinsky kept pushing the button every 108 minutes, it caused these ‘movements’. After Desmond stopped, the 815 crashed, after he resumed and the Losties resumed pushing the button, they were continuing the movement of the Island.

Once Desmond blew up the Swan, I believe Ellie or Widmore used the Lamppost to send in the freighter and Penny used another electromagnetic area either in North or South pole to send in her boat, which came much later than the freighter. At the same time, Desmond started seeing the flashes and eventually the arrival of Naomi and the freighter.

So, the Swan was responsible for the Island always moving. Evidently, after its destruction that all these rescues started happening.

The problem I have with this theory is that the button was put there long after the island was moving around.

Yeah, I agree. Perhaps, it will be explained by the "Incident" at the Swan in one of the upcoming episodes.

Though, it could have been some naturally occurring discharge caused on the Island that later Dharma started controlling.

edit: Actually, I think that theory is true.

Ellie saying that the Island is always moving could just mean because of what Dharma did. From late 1960s to early 1970s, they could have already started pushing the button, constantly stabilizing the discharge ever since. Before that, who would have bothered looking for the Island? Aside from the people involved with the Lamppost.

And thats why they were told they were 'saving the world'. Good theory.

Its possible the island 'moves' without the button being pressed, just at slower rate. That would explain why it was never simple to get there, but not impossible. Would also explain how the Kahana could find it after the Swan was destroyed.

Another clue that supports the theory of Ben killing Penny: He called Jack from a pier; and of course Penny was living on a boat. Desmond must have managed to injure him in the process.

It would certainly give Desmond a reason to come after Ben i.e the island.

I thought of that, but sailing from England to LA in one day is impossible. If Des and Penny are on their boat, thats a huge continuity error.

I think it has something to do with Des/Penny, but I would think its more likely that Ben and Desmond got into a fight over Ben trying to get Penny's location.
