Lost - Season 5

  • US Army used the submarine to test/transport the nuke, and "stumbled upon" that special coordinate to come in/out of the Island's snow-globe field.
  • After they all died in 1954, Richard Alpert and the Others started using the submarine to come and go from the Island with that special coordinate already logged in the submarine.

I guess we need more hints as to which way to go. Both theories seem plausible.

DHARMA brought the sub to the island, not the US military.

Bah, true. Forgot about that...

So, the question still stands, how did the US military bring the nuke? The US used subs to transport missiles like that. Perhaps Dharma took back the sub? They did have constant skirmishes with the natives, i.e. the Others.

The Galaga was far too small to transport a bomb the size of Jughead.

What if the island wasnt moving to begin with, the US Army found it and tried to do tests on the island, the natives then killed the army and started moving the island about, Dharma found out about the Army which then built the lamppost, etc..

Back to that post a dozen pages back about how Lost has lost it's step.

My aunt & uncle can relate to that. Only because they have a hard time keeping up with the show now. Not to say they are dumb, but they just can't fully understand & piece everything together. Especially when the time travel aspect of the show was introduce this season. So I can understand where they're coming from if they don't understand too much about science or the time travel idea. So maybe that's why many average viewers stop watching. Because it's getting too confusing for them?

I still love watching Lost, but to me anything that has to do with time travel will take away any realistic of the show (not like Lost was anything but sci-fi). But with time travel now, anything is possible. Too many conflicts & paradox to be considered & can't be ignore.

Just my opinion, but I'll continue to watch the show.

The writers of Lost are trying to avoid any paradox's that time travel does introduce; so far I don't believe we've encountered any. Cuse and Lindelof specifically mentioned Heroes in this regard, pointing out future Hiro meeting past Hiro if memory serves me correctly.

Well it's not like the show has poor writing like heroes where there are nothing but plot holes and **** made up on the spot :p

QTF. I stopped watching Heroes this season. It's getting pretty dumb & my life is busy as it is.

I know. But questions like "Why do they jump into this time & not another?" or "How are they able to jump into this time into exact?" Stuff like that. Who's controlling & setting the time they appear in?

Anyone think after the final series they'll have a few "clean up" episodes which whizz through the series and show us how things linked to the final conclusion?

I believe in the show's finale, it'll show the character's finale renunion & the conclusion on how they get back to their life & continue from there. Or maybe a last cliff hanger that would leave us wanting more Lost? :p

Quick comment about the island keep on moving. What's prohibiting the island from popping up next to the coast of NY or on top of California. :p

It probably teleports to open places where pockets of energy exist, like the island may be prohibited from physically moving to the spot in Los Angeles because there is already a body mass there, whereas it can move to open seas. It's a bit of a stretch, but I don't think it will just appear anywhere. There could be some "rules" in place for this. Hopefully they'll expound on the rules soon.

There is a Break!

As we reported at the start of the season our sources kept telling us that there would be a break this season, however info coming from ABC and other outlets said there were no breaks. Well it appears now that on the 11th March we will be getting a repeat of the 4th of March Episode LaFleur. I can only assume that this will be just a 1 week break and then on 18th March we resume with Episode 5.09 - Namaste.

I just checked the local TV listings and it shows two episodes of LOST. I missed the previous one so this is good news for me. I don't think I've ever enjoyed two servings of LOST. What if I can't finish it all? :o

    • Uhm, that's every business ever, though. It doesn't matter if a bajillion users are using it. As long as it's not making bank, it's probably headed for the graveyard.
    • Yeah Patchou was an active member here, good ol' times indeed.
    • Samsung is the new Google... they don't care if millions of people are using it.
    • Still no word on Tides of Annihilation...... so weird that it wasn't shown at the big Game Fest. Guess I'll put it in the bin like Judas and Squadron 42.
    • Samsung is shutting down yet another app used by millions by David Uzondu Samsung has announced that it is shutting down Samsung Max, its VPN service used by more than 50 million people, effective today. Samsung Max VPN, if you don't know, was an Android app born on February 23, 2018, out of the ashes of Opera Max, a very popular data-saving VPN that Opera had discontinued the previous year. Samsung bought the discontinued service, rebranded it, and added a native Samsung UI to fit the Galaxy ecosystem. The app could do things like compress images, help you manage background data on a per-app basis, reduce video data consumption, shrink music files, optimize webpages, block advertisement trackers in incognito mode, and encrypt your internet traffic on public Wi-Fi networks. Image via SammyGuru If you open the app now, you'd be greeted by a shutdown banner warning that all VPN, data saving, and privacy services stopped functioning on June 15, 2026. The creators failed to provide a reason for the shutdown, instead publishing a farewell note that read: "Thank you for being with us over the years. Your support and activity truly meant a lot to us and helped shape this app into what it became." This same message appears on the Google Play Store listing for the app as well. Max VPN is the latest service from Samsung to join the list of discontinued applications from the company. Just two months ago, the Korean tech giant announced that it is completely shutting down Samsung Messages, forcing millions of users to migrate to Google Messages by next month. The only devices that the shutdown won't affect are older smartphones running Android 11 or lower. Some of the features of Google Messages that Samsung hopes will entice users include AI-powered scam detection to block suspicious links, integrated Gemini AI tools to generate quick replies, custom chat bubbles, and universal RCS compatibility for sharing high-quality media with iOS users. The platform also offers seamless syncing across tablets and smartwatches. In addition to that, users gain access to message scheduling, smart classification, and automated category sorting.
