Lost - Season 5

Recommended Posts

Yes, their massive screentime in the last two seasons has destroyed the show.

The one Nikki and Paulo episode was more screentime than all of Rose and Bernard's in S4 and thus far in S5.

It's just a personal hate for me with Bernard and Rose as you know :p for giving us the worst episode ever.

Didn't see this posted, so here you go :)

Lost owns sci-fi awards

ABC's time-traveling show dominates television category at Saturn Awards; Heroes, Battlestar also tops.

Contrary to popular belief, awards season is NOT over. Sure, the bald-headed gold statuettes have been handed out, those globes were distributed a ways back, and the Puppy Bowl already named its M.V.P., but it's time for the geeks to dish out some hardware via the annual Saturn Awards.

Recognizing the best in science-fiction, horror, and fantasy, the Saturn Awards announced its list of nominees today, and there's a fairly good chance that ABC's Lost will take home a trophy this year. Lost was honored with 11 nominations this year, almost doubling the second-highest total in the television category.

Best network television series nominations went to Lost, Heroes, Fringe, Life on Mars, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Supernatural. On the cable side of things, Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, Dexter, Leverage, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and True Blood will battle it out.

Lost also dominated the acting categories with Matthew Fox (Jack), Evangeline Lilly (Kate), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond, brotha), Michael Emerson (Ben), Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Yunjin Kim (Sun), Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet), Alan Dale (Widmore), Kevin Durand (Keamy), and Sonya Walger (Penny) all getting nominations in actor, supporting actor, and guest actor categories. No love for Terry O'Quinn?

Heroes also fared well with a total of six nominations, followed by Battlestar Galactica and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles with four each.

On the film side of things, The Dark Knight grabbed 11 nominations, with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Iron Man right behind with nine and eight, respectively.

For a full list of nominees, head over to the Saturn Awards Web site.

Apparently it’s been confirmed that Amy Goodspeed’s son is one of the following four:

Ethan Rom (possilbe)

Daniel Faraday (probably not since he didn't get nose bleeds around the same time like Charlotte and Miles, they were born on the Island as well)

Jacob (probably not since his presence on the Island was already established in/before 1954)

Desmond Hume (possilbe)

So, it could be either Ethan or Desmond, most likely Ethan imo.

Yeah Ethan sounds about right

Gotta be Ethan

News about the death, now has been narrowed down to 3 people

One of these will die Ben, Sawyer or Daniel

It has to be Daniel, which is a shame really

Actually I think I'm wrong. Candle said 30 years into the future, so if that video was made around 1992 then the transmission would be expected to be received in 2022. A possible transmission for Aaron/Ji-Yeon?

OR

Daniel could have told Candle about the purge already and that transmission was made in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Supported by the crying baby, Miles.

So, if the video was made in 1977/1987 - transmission would be around 2007-2008. Reasonable, no?

Hence, its still possible anyone of them can die. I'm going for Ben :p Once they finish the four episodes with little Ben, everything would be pretty much explained on his part. So, no need for him to be on the Island anymore. Even Jacob doesn't want him....

Nice Guest List!

Don't know if this has been discussed already, but i was re watching episode 7 "The life and death of Jeremy Bentham" and in the first scenes we saw the life magazine with a date "April 19, 1954" That means Locke its in 1954?

also later on we saw locke talking with the girl (who looks like ana lucia) and we saw an island in the background, that means locke its in the main island or the "polar bear" island?

Heres the screencap

No, its not 1954. The Hydra wouldn't have been there in 1954. Its 2008.

They are on 'Hydra' Island, the smaller one. The Island is the one in the distance.

Yes, the word is that the runway built by the others during season 3 was for this very purpose. Mind bending :s

    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
    • Interesting read. I knew the adware was quite controversial at the time, however never realised to the point The Guardian wrote an article about Patchou. I just said no and enjoyed his creation, I’d probably be a lot more wary of something like that today though.
