Lost - Season 5

Actually it just looks like smoke rather than the smoke monster.

I don't think so, its got that smoke monster look to it. Why would it be regualr smoke? The Barracks looked old and no-one there apart from Christian. And seeing the smoke monster at the Pala Fary, it's gotta be smokey.

Compare the light gray of the "smoke" or whatever it is against the smoke monster, which is quite dark and more black than gray, and you'll come to the conclusion that I came to. Besides, watch the entire scene in the home and you'll see light shining into the house and the same "smoke" in light's beam.

Edit: It is smoke, but it's not the smoke monster, sceencaps forthcoming.

Elizabeth Mitchell Cast in "V"

I sure hope this doesn't mean what I think it does: Lost heroine Elizabeth Mitchell has been cast in ABC's eagerly anticipated V pilot.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking -- that this confirms Juliet as the major character who gets bumped off at this season's end? Yeah, I kinda thought you might be with me on that one.

However, my moles at ABC and Warner Bros. (which is producing V) say we need to chill, because Mitchell is just a guest star on V. But, however much I may want to chill, that's pretty hard to do, since everyone told me the same thing when tailie Cynthia Watros booked a pilot (and two months later, Libby was pushing up daisies).

So what do you think? Am I making much ado about nothing? Or is Juliet a goner? And in either case, how much cooler a project is V now that Mitchell's attached? I'm thinking "way."

Is there a Wedding Coming?

File this under shamelessly unconfirmed rumors too juicy not to share...

A couple of Lost characters are getting married.

According to a Hawaii-based source, Lost is currently seeking extras to play guests at a wedding on Monday. And if you're unaware, this is season-finale shooting time, give or take a few production days, so this wedding (if it happens) could very well be a key plot point, not just some throwaway background moment.

Lost weddings are few and far between?we've seen Jack and Sarah's (Julie Bowen) nuptials and the day Kate got hitched to Kevin Callis (Nathan Fillion)?so we know that every such scene has major import for the series, right?

Who could be getting married? Is it Dharma lovers Juliet and Jim? Could Jack and Kate be unbreaking their engagement?

Ok this may be a dumb question. But I am a little lost on it right now. If they are in the 70's wouldn't they remember that when they were future? Like right after the plane crashed? I am sure I am over looking something- it confuses me at times

Well, in the 70's it is AFTER they crashed on the island. Thats hard to understand (People at work struggle) but Sawyer/LaFleur for example... born 19__ lived to 2004, crashed, lived. Time travel here there. 1977. That is his timeline.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
