Lost - Season 5

"meh" episode, Kate's story always bores me lol, Loved the Richard part with the temple.

Mile's explaining things is so win :p Hurley just didn't/doesn't get it! :p (Among many others on internet)

As for next weeks promo... omg... wtfbbq ? :o i love Ben Episodes Smokey/Jacob is going to **** up ben big time! :p (Along with Ajira group?)

Wow i always thought that living with his abusive father is what made ben into a Psycho, but we find out it was actually the 815 survivors that did it, i thought to myself that it would be twistingly ironic if it was actually sayid shooting ben that turned him into the reason why sayid shot him in the first place, paradoxes are great. Poor Jack cant cut a break he messes things up by interfering and by not interfering.

Was a bit disappointed in the cop out "he will forget everything if i save him" which is why he didnt recognise any of the 815 survivors in the past.

Really looking forward to the Ben/Locke face off.

All in all it was a pretty slow episode but thats not necesserily a bad thing as i think this series has been moving really quick for me i dont enjoy being overloaded with information.

Yes thats a good question...? Any ideas?

We already know where he is earlier on in the season it showed Faraday at the Orchid when it was being built because they talked about digging through the rock and finding something.

Poor Jack cant cut a break he messes things up by interfering and by not interfering.

Ok, so let me get this straight...

IF Jack would saved Ben, Ben would become good in the future?

It's that he refused and they let Richard save Ben, so Ben became evil?

Whatever happened, happened.

Why don't you get that?

They can't change things.

Jack didn't save Ben.

I UNDERSTAND that! I am NOT arguing about that!

But, I am just putting 'IF' scenarios out there, OK?

Like I am rewriting this to IF Jack and Both Richard refuses, and let Ben die... then what would happen....?

I know in this Offical Lost version, there is NO "If", but what I am saying what if that did happen... like NOT going by this Official version!!!

STOP acting Arrogant, always! :|

Only the last 5 minutes was worth while. Everything else sucked and Kate is an annoyance, imo. Plus, with the 500 hour long commercials on HD ABC.... crappy viewing experience.

Looks like we will see inside the Temple next week.

So a quick recap of important things...

- Ben forgot everything that happened.... (Yet he still keeps the birthday present Annie gave him)

- Ellie and Widmore are a couple - given both of their names are mentioned as "leader" positions.

- Ben's innocence is lost, when Richard takes him to the Temple to rape him. (kidding)

- Aaron is with his grandma.

- They made Miles look dumb by talking 'dumb' with Hurley and his inability to understand, while Jack completely ignores them both.

5/10.

I LOVE the part Hurley and Miles was debating Travel time stuff!

I know most of you viewers think "Whatever happened, happened" so there is NO Ifs.

I like to think about the IF scenarios, though...

I think it's Fun to think that way. :)

There is no "if". Whatever happened, happened.

Again, I KNOW in the official version, there is no Ifs, BUT I am NOT talking about the Official version.

I UNDERSTAND that! I am NOT arguing about that!

But, I am just putting 'IF' scenarios out there, OK?

No, I don't think you do get it. As evidenced by your other recent posts, you don't quite understand. Don't worry, you aren't alone, there are plenty of people that don't get it.

What a pointless exercise.

If Sayid hadn't shot Ben then he wouldn't be evil.

If Roger hadn't brought Ben to the island then he wouldn't be evil.

If Emily Linus hadn't died then he wouldn't be evil.

If Jack had saved then he wouldn't be evil.

If Richard hadn't told Ben that he could join the Others then he wouldn't be evil.

Or how about this one. If Lapidus had been flying 815 like he was supposed to, he might have taken the plane on a different route that didn't go over the island, and therefore would not have crashed on the 'system failure' caused by Desmond. Ben would still have been evil, but there would be no 815 story so we would never know about it.

But none of them happened, and none of them can happen. Whatever happened, happened. Lost isn't about different possible futures and outcomes. Thats Heroes, go watch that trainwreck of a show. Lost is about the one path of time that exists. There are plenty of other things to discuss that don't have to deal with impossibilities.

Think about it this way: If Jack had saved Ben, then he wouldn't have been evil, so if they somehow had still gone back in time, he wouldn't have a problem saving Ben, because he was just a kid that needed Jack's help. But Ben WAS evil, so Jack didn't save him as a child.

Whatever happened, happened. And it can only happen one way.

Stop posting, always.

So tell me, what is thinking outside the box like?

:pacifier:

Thinking outside the box is to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective.

Like NOT just going by what Lost writers say that "Whatever happened, happened" but by thinking some IF scenarios, like I did.

What if J. J. hadn't written the pilot script?

:pacifier:

Or worse yet, what if JJ was never born!

Thinking outside the box is to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective.

Like NOT just going by what Lost writers say that "Whatever happened, happened" but by creating some IF scenarios, like I did.

He didn't ask for a definition. He asked what it was like.

Watching the show and going 'oh em gee!!! what if they had done this differently!!!' isn't thinking outside the box. Its just plain thinking. Yes, we all do that.

ok... IF we did have an IF situation and ben died that means he died in 1977 and never met the 815 crew meaning there is no one for widmore to hunt down therefore no need to turn the donkey wheel meaning no one went back in time to shoot him meaning he grows up and eventually turns the donkey wheel where sayid will shoot him anyway.

that is the best I can explain a paradox I think.

Ok, so let me get this straight...

IF Jack would saved Ben, Ben would become good in the future?

It's that he refused and they let Richard save Ben, so Ben became evil?

Ignore the 'people' being offensive.

Its a tough one, if Jack had saved Ben then time would have been reset as all of the future would have changed Sayid wouldnt have been there to shoot Ben which in turn would have meant that he wouldnt have needed to be taken to Richard and therefore his 'innocence' wouldnt have been taken and could have potentially been a good person which means there would have been no purge that Ben instigated and Dharma could have potentially still been on the island.

I dont think that is right.

If no one went back to shoot him then he wouldnt have been turned into the psycho he is now which means all of the future will have changed which means Sayid wouldnt have shot Ben anyway the only reason he shot Ben is because he knew Ben grew up and did all these terrible things.

If no one went back to shoot him then he wouldnt have been turned into the psycho he is now which means all of the future will have changed which means Sayid wouldnt have shot Ben anyway the only reason he shot Ben is because he knew Ben grew up and did all these terrible things.

The only reason Sayid shot Ben is because he did those things. Which is the same reason that Jack didn't help him.

Therefore he always shot him, and Jack never saved him, because that is the reason he was 'changed'.

There are no 'ifs'.

Do you not have an Ignore function, to use?

If you don't like my posts, I don't care.

Just ignore me, always.

Unfortunately, the ignore function here only blocks out the text. The rest of the post (sig, your name, etc) still appears. I find its more annoying with ignore on then off.

Anyway, the part with Sawyer saying to Richard 'where did you come from?'

Are Richard and Smokey the same entity?

I don't think they are the same entity, if so Richard could have just appeared where they originally met the others, rather than carrying Ben a bit.. But on the other hand if smokey is course correction (which I believe it is), instead of just killing people it would also make sense to create "characters" (richard, jacob) to aid in making sure scenarios play out how they are meant to.

The only reason Sayid shot Ben is because he did those things. Which is the same reason that Jack didn't help him.

Therefore he always shot him, and Jack never saved him, because that is the reason he was 'changed'.

There are no 'ifs'.

I dont really care if you think there are no ifs or not as ive already stated a few times i KNOW the universe is course correcting and you cant change the future.

It was just hypothetical to ponder what could have happened you dont need to be an ass about it.

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
    • Well I really think the repasting helped if your higher clocks have returned, maybe the next thing to look at is if there is a problem with your case airflow? I guess this because your 3080 has returned to optimal state, but is still staying too warm, which might suggest it was thermal throttling before you repasted, of which the only logical conclusion could be outside factors.
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know by Hamid Ganji Galaxy Z Fold 7 - Image via Samsung The next generation of Samsung foldables is set to be unveiled next month at the second Unpacked event of the year. Samsung’s 2026 foldables are not expected to offer significant upgrades over their predecessors, with the Korean firm instead focusing on design refinements and conventional upgrades such as faster processors and better cameras. However, Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil an all-new passport-style foldable this year to rival Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut this September. Here’s a roundup of everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices ahead of their official debut. When can we expect Samsung’s new foldables? The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 series were unveiled in July, and Samsung is expected to maintain this timeframe in 2026. Based on previous reports from Korean sources, Samsung will hold its Unpacked event on July 22 in London, UK, to pull back the curtain on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The devices are also expected to hit the shelves a few weeks after launch. However, Samsung has yet to announce an official date. A new naming scheme? One of the most interesting changes we might see this year is a new naming scheme for Samsung’s latest foldables. SamMobile reported that since Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables this year, it has adopted a new naming strategy to simplify product identification for customers. Accordingly, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will reportedly be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and will serve as the direct successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. The “Ultra” suffix suggests the phone could feature higher-end specifications, such as additional rear camera modules. Samsung’s new passport-style foldable is expected to carry the Galaxy Z Fold 8 name without any suffix. This model is reportedly equipped with two rear cameras. No major changes are expected for the Flip model. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 anticipated specs Rumors over the past few months suggest Samsung is preparing several upgrades for its upcoming foldables, although the devices may continue to rely on larger batteries and faster charging speeds rather than dramatic design changes. The primary focus this year is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wide-screen design. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here are the anticipated specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra based on previous leaks: 6.5-inch outer display and 8-inch inner display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,600 nits peak brightness Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage 4.1mm thickness when unfolded and a weight of 210g 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 10MP or 12MP telephoto camera, 10MP cover camera, and 10MP selfie camera 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the device is not expected to be a major departure from its predecessor, although it could become slightly slimmer. Expected specifications include: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 processor 12GB of RAM with 256GB and 512GB storage options 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner dispaly and 4.1-inch Super AMOLED outer dispaly 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 Samsung’s foldables are also expected to launch with Gemini Intelligence, Google’s AI suite for automating tasks in Android ecosystem. Moreover, given current memory and component costs, some Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 variants could see a price hike. Galaxy Z Fold 8 adopts a wide-screen design The centerpiece of the upcoming Unpacked event could be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, previously rumored as the Galaxy Z Fold Wide. This model adopts a passport-style form factor and is expected to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone Fold. Galaxy Z Fold 8 official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here’s what to expect: 7.6-inch primary OLED display and 5.4-inch cover display, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and 4:3 aspect ratio Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera Android 17 and One UI 9 The three new foldable phones are unlikely to be the only devices unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event. The company is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9 series.
