Lost - Season 5

You are wrong. Deal with it.

Quit trolling. It's my opinion, there is no right or wrong. Until its officially confirmed, DEAL WITH IT.

Lostpedia states, "While at the store, she briefly loses Aaron and finds him walking with a woman, who from behind looks like Claire. Kate is reunited with Aaron at the store, and goes to visit Cassidy again."

Right. Lostpedia.

Why can't you accept that the writers did this to make us think it was Claire for just a moment.

Think here for a second instead of defending your little theory just because you want an argument.

Why would the writers go back on the previous scene where Claire comes to Kate and tells her not to bring Aaron to the Island. What is the significance of Claire going off Island to take Aaron? It's not my fault you were fooled into believing it was Claire so easily for that moment of time.

That was the reason Kate had that look on her face. She realized he isn't her son and that it was time to start telling the truth. That scene is the pivotal moment that makes her realize she needed to go back to the island.

Agreed. But the state of confusion or clarity on Kate's face was because she knew it was a kidnapper. Not because she thought it was Claire.

The writers picked a character who looked similar to Claire, because this is what played on the emotions of Kate who after this event decides to go back to the Island "to get Claire", knowing that she can't be Aarons mum forever.

The fact the actor looked similar to Claire was more significant to Kate than it was to the viewer, I personally didn't have bells ringing when I saw the scene (about it being Claire), but can see in retrospect why that particular actor was chosen.

NO ONE SAID IT WAS CLAIRE!!! Damn. What is your problem?

That was the point at all. The point is the writers wrote that scene in there to make Kate and the audience to think it was Claire so we could understand why she decided to go back. It is the only explanation as to why she decided to go back. It is solely because she thought it was Claire at first, not because it was a kidnapper. If she had only thought it was a kidnapper she wouldn't have said thank you, but she realized the island was sending her a message, that she needed to go back.

Easy there tough guy. No need to get upset over differences of opinion on a forum.

Kate: I lost him.

Cassidy: What?

Kate: I don't know what happened, we were in the supermarket and I turned around for one second and he was gone.

[Kate teary eyes]

Kate: I mean, the crazy thing is, as scared as I was, I wasn't surprised.

Kate: All I can think was, it was about time.

Kate: Why would I feel this way, why would I expect him to be taken?

She decided to go back after the conversation with Cassidy due that scene in the supermarket.

No, her eyes were fixed on Aaron as she called out for Aaron. She didn't say Claire out loud, she said Aaron. And so, the kidnapper turned around...

 It doesn't matter what she said, what matters is what happened, what we saw. We were suppose to see Claire and I'm sorry that you didn't, but that doesn't change the fact the we were meant to think it was Claire. I've taken enough writing courses to know the tricks writers/directors use and this is clearly one of them.

She obviously doesn't tell Cassidy everything, so it is safe to assume she didn't tell her about the big smoke monster, or hearing voices in the jungle, etc. If she admitted she thought she saw Claire then Cassidy might think she's crazy and losing it.

Why else would she run to Claire's mom to give Aaron up? Because she thought she saw Claire and it triggered something. I really don't get why this is so hard to accept?

 It doesn't matter what she said,

Yep, let's completely ignore what Kate got out of it and insert your own theory to justify what happened.

Oh, wow. You took courses... you KNOW everything that's happening on LOST. Damn, I feel so stupid now arguing with a LOST-writer.

Either that or it was finally apparent that Aaron being taken away was a relief for her. Which was the case in the discussion between Kate and Cassidy. Latter seems more likely because it was the explanation given by the writers, not that she "thought" she saw Claire in the supermarket.

Anyway, this is a non-issue. You can continue to stroke your penis if you wish.

WHAT'S TO COME:

Brinn in Santa Barbara, Calif.: So, I am in no way asking you to reveal the Lost death to me, but would you possibly be able to confirm that it is not Penny? I am suddenly freaking out that TPTB might kill off one half of my favorite TV couples ever. Hopefully you can help ease my unease. Wait, if you can't confirm that it isn't her then it might be ruined for me. Ahh, what a pickle I'm in! I guess you should just proceed at your own discretion.

It's not Penny.

Video Podcast

I for one, believe that the character was chosen deliberately to look like Claire. The producers choose their actors carefully. In this case, it was to imply, even for a brief second "Is that Claire". Still, I am not convinced her intentions were to take Aaron, since she was in no rush to get out and she had a basket of groceries. But those are moot points.

It was clearly meant to look to the viewer and Kate like it was Claire taking Aaron.

I don't know how you could think otherwise.

According to Miles' time theory, when the Losties first crashed on the island, shouldn't Richard remember them? Also in this season when Sawyer talked to Richard in the 70s, shouldn't Richard remember him from when the island had those flashes and John met Richard?

Sawyer didn't go to the camp in 1954.

Richard can't remember anything that hasn't happened yet in his timeline.

According to Miles' time theory, when the Losties first crashed on the island, shouldn't Richard remember them?

Yeah, he would be the only one on the Island who knows what happens on a linear timeline. So, Richard knew about John, Daniel, Charlotte, Miles, Juliet, and Sawyer in post 815 crash.

Also in this season when Sawyer talked to Richard in the 70s, shouldn't Richard remember him from when the island had those flashes and John met Richard?

Richard never actually met Sawyer from what we saw in that episode. But Sawyer was at the 1954 camp right when it disappeared. It's possible, Ellie told Richard about Sawyer and Juliet, but I don't think she knew their names.

Sawyer didn't go to the camp in 1954.

He did at the end when Ellie, Daniel and Juliet came back from Jughead.

I do have to ask a question though that just hit me. Why does a janitor have a key to a jail cell? What use would he have for it? If he needed to clean up in there, would a security officer be there with him making him needing a key useless.

I was thinking that, he's not a security guard so there would be no reason for him to have those keys.

but Richard never saw Sawyer or Juliet... Duh!

I already mentioned that, what is your point?

I loved this episode. Loved the scenes involving Hurley and Miles. That's what I have always wanted to see - characters reacting like normal people to the situation, debating the same things we are debating.

The new sawyer is also interesting. I am also thankfull to the writers for finally resolving the love quadrangle (hopefully).

And I actually agree with Hurley. I am one of those who thinks that the writers are just misleading us things can be changed. May be the incident will give us the answer.

And man wtf wtf wtf @ next weeks promo

Even with the extra time for ads, each episode is around the same amount as any other hour long drama.

Episode of Heroes - 41 minutes

Episode of Lost - 42 minutes

So we're getting the same amount of show. I don't see any reason to complain, ABC has to pay for the show some how and with the decrease in viewership compared to the first couple of seasons, ABC had to add in more ad time (and only by 2 minutes) to make up the money.

Episode 5.12 - Dead Is Dead - UK Press Release

    • Microsoft's Copilot Cowork now generally available with usage-based billing by Pradeep Viswanathan Back in March, Microsoft first revealed Copilot Cowork, a new agentic AI experience in Microsoft 365 Copilot through which users can assign tasks to AI to complete in the background. After testing the service with a limited set of customers in Research Preview for a few weeks, Microsoft announced the general availability of Copilot Cowork to customers in the Frontier program on March 30. Today, Microsoft announced the general availability of Copilot Cowork worldwide for Microsoft 365 Copilot customers. The company also highlighted that Cowork became the fastest-growing feature in the history of its Frontier program. Unlike regular Copilot Chat, Copilot Cowork can run complex, long-running, multi-tool tasks from start to finish in the cloud by using organizational context through Work IQ. When compared to Claude Cowork, Microsoft claims that Copilot Cowork will be 30% to 40% cheaper on average with its Microsoft 365 connector. For now, Copilot Cowork runs on Anthropic models, including Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 4.6. However, Frontier customers can now use GPT-5.5. Microsoft also announced Cowork 1, a secure fine-tuned model coming in the next few weeks, which is designed to handle everyday Copilot tasks at a lower cost. To access Copilot Cowork, a Microsoft 365 Copilot user subscription is required. Usage is billed separately through Copilot Credits, based on model use, context retrieval, tool calls, and runtime. Pay-as-you-go pricing is set at $0.01 per Copilot Credit. To offer IT teams full control over usage costs, Microsoft provides spending limits, usage alerts, user-level controls, reporting, and prepaid usage plans for organizations. Usage-based billing begins today. However, Frontier customers who used Cowork between March 30 and June 16 will not be billed until July 1, 2026. The Microsoft 365 Copilot app now includes a toggle to enter the full Cowork experience. Microsoft is also adding partner plugins, with Enosix, Harvey, LSEG, Miro, monday.com, Moody’s, Morningstar, S&P Global Energy, and TeamsMaestro available now. Adobe, Atlassian, Box, Canva, Databricks, and others are coming soon.
