Lost - Season 5

Hopefully the incident will put everyone back in their proper timeframes, with maybe the exception of Locke who will stay in the past and lead the others and he will end up being Jacob probably.

Locke is not in the past. He, along with all the other 316's (Ben, Sun, Frank, Ilona, etc.) are still in 2007, it was proven by the abandoned Hydra station (with a picture of Ben with Alex), & the destroyed/abandoned barracks (after the attack of Keamy and co.). But I do think that the incident will bring all the Osixers back to 2007.

I'd like it if Locke turned out to be Jackob :)

And how was Daniel responsible for Ben shooting Desmond? It was Daniel who tried to stop the chain of events that led to Desmond crashing Oceanic 815 which led to Jack disable the jammer which led to Charles Widmore sending the freighter which led to Keamy killing Alex leading Ben to hunt down Penelope. Or was it Daniel's plan of detonating Jughead that set the wheel in motion for these events to occur?

I was thinking it was due to when Daniel was traveling through time, when he knocked on the station door and told Desmond to find his mother. That sparked Desmond in the future to travel to Oxford, then LA, putting Penelope in a place that Ben could easily get to her.

NO DANIELLL NNOOOOO!!!!

*recalls composure*

I really hope he does somehow maintain to live although its beyond possible, because it was shocking yes, and everything seems to be wrapped up for the major death for the end of the season, but GOD HELP ME I hope Lost kill off anyone, except Daniel. Ever since he becamequite central to the story-line he has become my favourite character.

Otherwise, that was a truly stunning episode, best of the season and the best one since probably the one Desmond kept on going back and forward through time last season. Some theories (like the Dan having a certain father, and 'the variable' as well as many others were cleared up') but also the action e.g the shoot-out and Sawyer getting in deep **** with the Dharma folk.

Did we learn before how/why Eloise left the island?

daniel 'modified' demond's memories in one of those timejumps and that prompted desmond to go find eloise. desmond would not have been dere if it wasnt for that

I just rewatched the episode and sadly I feel the same :( I will continue to watch but a part of me thinks the ending overall is going to suck big time...but of course time will tell just didn't like last nights at all...right down there in S.O.S level.

Just my 2 cents.

Man... WHAT?! SCC has screwed you up!

Man... WHAT?! SCC has screwed you up!

As I said its my 2 cents, I just felt last nights episode was really poor...seen it twice now and felt the same way both times.

FYI SCC was good the ending was good but again opinion...we are entitled to it :)

Agree with you there. Paradox riddled.

Paradox Explained.

if Faraday set off Jughead (after finding location from his mother whom had a gun to his head in "Jughead") then he would never of gone to the island meaning he would never of gone back to the past to set jughead off in the first place to prevent him from going to the island.

All the way through he was trying to save Charlotte.

he knows Pierre Chang would evac the island with jughead around, If he evac'd(s) the island Charlotte would of left island and never of been exposed to elctro-magnetic energy that swan location will unleash (maybe?) meaning when she returned to the island (which wouldn't happen because everyone/thing on the island including the swan would of been flattened ...) she wouldn't spaz out and have nose bleeds etc meaning she wouldn't die - Paradox ahoy!

Nit-picks at the episode: when Faraday was talking to naughty Charlotte who was eating chocolate before dinner... (remember she randomly said something about chocolate before she died) he never actually said "You are going to die" like Charlotte said when she was dying. which leads me to believe Faraday will be back?

and... Charlotte said "There was a scary man who lived on the island who no ones knew"

He has been off island the entire 3 years to our knowledge

My memory might be failing me but I distinctly remember right from Season1, it was said the plot could be explained with existing science ... I guess that was BS?

Edit: Here is something that was discussed in Neowin IRC. Infinte loop timeline.

The only way that this is a paradox, for now, is if you believe anything they do isn't what already happened. If you stick with whatever happened, happened, the survivors trying to be a variable in the events of the island are likely the root cause of the chain of events that follow. It's like Ben causing Ben to become what he is by using Sayid in the present, which pushed him over the edge when Sayid was in the past and shot young Ben, leading him to becoming one of the Others (by being taken to the temple). A group of people always left the island, Charlotte mentioned this before she died, and she didn't say anything about a "man who lived on the island who no ones knew".

Daniel, I've been here before. ... I grew up here, on the island. It was with the Dharma Initiative and then I moved away with my mom, just my mom. I never saw my dad again. Then when I got back to England, I would ask my mom about this place, but she would say that it wasn't real, and that I made it up. That's why I became an anthropologist. To find this island again. It's what I've been searching for my whole life. ... Because I remember something now. When I was little, living here, there was this man, crazy man and he really scared me, and he told me that I had to leave the island and never, ever come back. He told me that if I came back, I would die. ... Daniel, I think that man was you!

Next time we saw her was when Daniel was telling her about how his mom could help, she mentioned the chocolate, and she died. But your point about "I would die" is right, Daniel didn't mention it, and I won't go with the fall back assumption of "he probably told her but didn't see it", but it's a minor detail that isn't prevalent to the plot.

Daniel may or may not be back, but going by what I saw in the previews, he's a goner.

I don't think Friday is dead. I mean, just cos he got shot, doesn't mean he's dead.

Your thoeries...

Also, remember, if they fix the time line, Kate will end up in prison and so she will do anything to avoid that....

What do you mean "Fix the time line" if they "Fix the time line" then they would never of traveled back in time to "fix the time line" in the first place ^^^ read paradox post :p

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
    • Well I really think the repasting helped if your higher clocks have returned, maybe the next thing to look at is if there is a problem with your case airflow? I guess this because your 3080 has returned to optimal state, but is still staying too warm, which might suggest it was thermal throttling before you repasted, of which the only logical conclusion could be outside factors.
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know by Hamid Ganji Galaxy Z Fold 7 - Image via Samsung The next generation of Samsung foldables is set to be unveiled next month at the second Unpacked event of the year. Samsung’s 2026 foldables are not expected to offer significant upgrades over their predecessors, with the Korean firm instead focusing on design refinements and conventional upgrades such as faster processors and better cameras. However, Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil an all-new passport-style foldable this year to rival Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut this September. Here’s a roundup of everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices ahead of their official debut. When can we expect Samsung’s new foldables? The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 series were unveiled in July, and Samsung is expected to maintain this timeframe in 2026. Based on previous reports from Korean sources, Samsung will hold its Unpacked event on July 22 in London, UK, to pull back the curtain on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The devices are also expected to hit the shelves a few weeks after launch. However, Samsung has yet to announce an official date. A new naming scheme? One of the most interesting changes we might see this year is a new naming scheme for Samsung’s latest foldables. SamMobile reported that since Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables this year, it has adopted a new naming strategy to simplify product identification for customers. Accordingly, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will reportedly be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and will serve as the direct successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. The “Ultra” suffix suggests the phone could feature higher-end specifications, such as additional rear camera modules. Samsung’s new passport-style foldable is expected to carry the Galaxy Z Fold 8 name without any suffix. This model is reportedly equipped with two rear cameras. No major changes are expected for the Flip model. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 anticipated specs Rumors over the past few months suggest Samsung is preparing several upgrades for its upcoming foldables, although the devices may continue to rely on larger batteries and faster charging speeds rather than dramatic design changes. The primary focus this year is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wide-screen design. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here are the anticipated specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra based on previous leaks: 6.5-inch outer display and 8-inch inner display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,600 nits peak brightness Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage 4.1mm thickness when unfolded and a weight of 210g 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 10MP or 12MP telephoto camera, 10MP cover camera, and 10MP selfie camera 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the device is not expected to be a major departure from its predecessor, although it could become slightly slimmer. Expected specifications include: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 processor 12GB of RAM with 256GB and 512GB storage options 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner dispaly and 4.1-inch Super AMOLED outer dispaly 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 Samsung’s foldables are also expected to launch with Gemini Intelligence, Google’s AI suite for automating tasks in Android ecosystem. Moreover, given current memory and component costs, some Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 variants could see a price hike. Galaxy Z Fold 8 adopts a wide-screen design The centerpiece of the upcoming Unpacked event could be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, previously rumored as the Galaxy Z Fold Wide. This model adopts a passport-style form factor and is expected to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone Fold. Galaxy Z Fold 8 official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here’s what to expect: 7.6-inch primary OLED display and 5.4-inch cover display, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and 4:3 aspect ratio Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera Android 17 and One UI 9 The three new foldable phones are unlikely to be the only devices unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event. The company is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9 series.
