was the Oneill at the end? ... (i like him a lot) ... glad they are making anotehr SG ... i was sad Terminator series came to an end .. BUT with SG on the way, star trek and SG mmo's on the way also ... man ... i am in a perpetual syfy orgasm .. feels good ... (i hope it does not turn into a battlestar galatica .. i hate that show)

interesting ancient ship design, same as with the stargate ... does it mean each galaxy has its own gate design?limited in travel only by power use and firmware?

ugh. The only problem with this show is that you will have the annoying "omg we've found a new way home" episodes only to have it taken away at the last minute. Voyager was full of these but of course, you knew they wouldn't get home as it would massively change the entire premise of the show.

>.<

We've spent a lot of time with the cast of Stargate Universe this con week, and we're pretty excited about the new series... especially after Robert Carlyle told us that everyone on the show is going to die.

We sneaked a few minutes of Dr. Nicholas Rush's time, the crazy-eyed scientist played by Robert Carlyle, and asked him if there would be any zombie homages from his past work (28 Weeks Later):

Is there a zombie aspect? No, but we do all die.

Can you elaborate on that?

It's a very interesting episode written by Robert called "Time," where they go to another planet, and when they get there, they find one of these alien balls. They find footage on it, and they are all dying on it. And that's where the teaser ends.

All im happy about is that they are actually trying something different in the Stargate universe (pun not intended), instead of being another SG-1 clone set in a different place like Atlantis essentially was.

Why? That's what stargate is about exploring new planets and beating some enemy. That's my I loved SG1 and liked Atlantis, if you don't like that then why are you watching it.

The second trailer confirmed they are doing something drstically different, not sure if I am going to like it. Cautiously optimistinc though. Is there actually a main baddie or is the whole show about getting back to earth?

The series will employ a new cast of characters, with the network seeking a known performer for one lead role and fresh faces to play the rest of the ship?s crew. Appearances by former cast members from ?SG-1? and ?Atlantis? are very possible.

I wan't to see the Tilk and RDA come back!!!!

    • Most AI-powered mainframe migration vendors expected to fail by 2030, Gartner warns by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels You may have read that many companies still run code written in ancient programming languages like COBOL and pay a handsome sum for those who can maintain that code. Well, it looks like this area of the tech world could be the scene of an AI bubble. It turns out that there are mainframe exit vendors, helping companies move their legacy mainframe systems to modern cloud environments or servers such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, using generative AI tooling. Unfortunately, 75% of these vendors are now expected to pivot or cease operations as market realities take hold by 2030. Alessandro Galimberti from Gartner said: Some of the companies in the mainframe exit market are IBM, 21CS, BMC, Broadcom, Rocket Software, DXC, GTSG, and Kyndryl. The reasons some of these firms are expected to quit the market are a reset of market expectations and a decline in demand for one-size-fits-all migration solutions. The reset in expectations is likely to be driven by cost overruns and threats to business, and the potential occurrence of critical failures within businesses as a result of bad transition implementations. These insights from Gartner are pretty interesting because it’s a specific area of the market where doubt is being cast on generative AI. Many people have cast doubt on whether AI companies will successfully justify the massive amounts spent on GenAI to date, and this data from Gartner suggests the road could be rocky for GenAI.
    • Heaven forbid they lose pennies from their Trillions! Like always, the consumer pays the most. Why is Tim Cooks even talking.....shouldn't he be packing up his office??
    • If you have the budget...! Some solo or indies just want to either learn or start their game and aren't in a capacity to pay salaries or to contractors... Get real.
