Various shows are using twitter as a way of dropping hint to the fans as what's to come, the cast and crew of Stargate Universe are out in full force.

David Blue as Eli Wallace

Lou Diamond Phillips as Col David Telford

Brian J. Smith as Lt Matthew Scott

Alaina Huffman as Lt Tamara Johansen

Richard Dean Anderson may become a recurring castmember on Stargate Universe, according to Robert Carlyle.

Earlier this year, co-creator Brad Wright confirmed that Anderson - best known as Jack O'Neill - will guest star on the latest Stargate spinoff alongside Gary Jones.

However, Carlyle, who plays Dr Nicholas Rush on Universe, has hinted that Anderson may appear more often than was previously announced.

Asked about the possibility of any of the original stars staying beyond their guest stints, Carlyle told DS: "I think that RDA might do - I think that he could come and go - and even Michael Shanks could come and go too, but the difficulty for them is that [the new team] are marooned in a spaceship on the far side of the universe."

He also praised Anderson and fellow SG-1 star Amanda Tapping for agreeing to appear in Universe.

"I think the reason these guys were there - and God bless them for coming in and doing it, because they didn't have to - is it's a way of saying 'here's who we were, those guys are gone now and these are the ones who are going to go forward'."

He added: "There's not a lot of actors who would do that and it shows you how well run Stargate is that these guys didn't mind at all coming back and doing a couple of days to help out."

Stargate Universe premieres October 2 on Syfy in the US and October 6 on Sky1 in the UK.

    • Remarkably based article from Garter - apparently there IS someone working there that actually understands mainframe systems.
