  1. 1. Who should lead on Destiny?

You have never seen the Atlantis series?

But I Enjoyed it. Im really looking forward to it, I really hope they explore more about the ancients, their technology, more origins of the stargate etc. Something that Atlantis let me down, considering that show took place on THE city of the ancients..

Why don't you just get it another way or rent it, it's quite an awesome show.

Isn't there like 4 or 5 seasons and then movies I mean I could do that in the downtime next summer during tv hiatus :p

Just pretend you don't have school or work or anything lol I am just saying, its worth your time. Atlantis was awesome, so was SG1. Hard to not ever watch it.

Not bad, better than I expected but I've seen similar episodes in Atlantis several times. Hopefully they mix it up a little more. I really like the new way of travelling, looks way cooler than hyperspace. And a no show for the wormhole, I miss that :(

The ship looks quite badass and Daniel's videos were great

I enjoyed it!

The show felt different to SG1 and SGA - much darker and more suspense. I'm guessing Destiny is older than Atlantis? It was unkempt and didn't feature the nice architecture or "prettiness" about it that Atlantis had.

I remember the writers said many characters would be killed off during the first season, so it will be interesting to see who stays. I'm not very fond of Eli but anyone would be better than that know-it-all Rodney McKay.

Looking forward to next few eps. :)

I just finished watching the SG:U premiere...

I went in expecting it to be fairly ordinary. I came out with my expectations met. Double thumbs down (so far), i'm afraid.

Heck, even the cameos from SG1 were poor. They really didn't look like they put their back into it!

Who knows, it might improve, but this hasn't been on my "to buy" list, and at the moment, it's not going to be.

Now, where are those SG1/Atlantis movies??? :D

I actually thought the cameo's were perfectly fine. They were there to remind us it takes place in the same universe (lol) but not overbearing to make it scream to us that this is Stargate. They gave it a nice push out and then the show took on its own character.

The idea of those stones and only having 5 (now 4) to communicate with Earth (if Rush is to be believed) is interesting.

But wasn't "Air" a 3-parter? Assume the "finale" to the premier is on next week...

Yeah rather then a 3 hour premiere the last part is next week

it sets up the stage for what is next to come ... it is interesting how they incorporated things from sg1 (like the communication stones) and i would assume there will be other things too they'll have to revisit. It seems to be a combination of startrek, battlestar and stargate :) ...

Note? .. so once a stone is used it cannot be reused by someone else? at all?

I enjoyed it!

Rodney McKay was one of the best characters.

I noticed it looked quite familiar, but why tear it down? :(

Budget most likely. They can't keep the original SGC set on one lot while maintaining the SGU set on another lot. They cannibalized a lot from the old set also. And I don't believe the production studio owns the lot either so they'd be paying just to keep it in storage.

When they make another movie they'll have to decide whether to rebuild the original SGC or write in the new one. I sure hope they make another movie. MGM is definitely going through a rough patch. :(

Really enjoyed it and even got the girlfriend to watch it all, shockingly she really liked it too :D

Cant wait for the next episode :)

Yea, the girlfriend also watched it with me, she seemed to enjoy it, and I quite enjoyed it myself.

oh and thank the writers the senator guy went and died, I wouldn't have been able to stand a show with him in it(the actor, and the character he plays wich is identical to every other role he has ever played).

Haha, just after he died I turned to the girlfriend and said "thank god he died, he would have been one of those really annoying characters you can't wait to get rid of", lol.

It felt too much like Voyager with a coat of Stargate painted on it. Definitely one I won't be watching again.

I thought it was going to be like Voyager when they first announced it, but I didn't think it felt anything like Voyager at all.

Rodney McKay was one of the best characters.

Hell yes he was. I loved him. Sure his attitude was a little obnoxious but he was hilarious. I'll really miss him. Next to O'Neill he was one of my favourites. Always a good laugh.

Can't remember how they disconnected them in the original but I'm sure they can, plus they have 5 if I remember correctly. It was a good idea to include, considering how far away they are it will help them tie in the old with the new without everyone getting ****ed off :) I'm guessing thats how some of the old cast get bigger cameos in the future?

The stones are reusable. They play an important (very important) part of the series btw. I mean, the 4th or 5th episode is called "Earth" lol

BTW! Anyone else freak out when the gliders and other Gouald ships were attacking the base? I mean, man I missed those sweet thingies. I bet that was that alliance of thieves or whatever they are attacking them. It certainly wasn't Ba'al or another worm head.

Also, the music for this episode (and the show as a whole I assume) is just plain awesome. Joel Goldsmith did an amazing job with the music. It FELT like Stargate, but newer. It even had a BSG and Trek feel to it kinda.

I dunno about this. The trailer looked really awesome and i was gagging to see this but i watched it and felt some what lost in it.. wasn't really all i thought it be. Maybe i should watch another episode just to make sure..

And here is a question: Why would an ancient ship without a crew would be wasting resources on life support through out all its journey? It only needs to turn on life support whenever there is someone on the ship.

I thought thats what happened. Life support turned on for them but it didn't work right because the oxygen thingies were all gunked up from not being used.

I liked these first episodes... the show has promise.

    • Microsoft hides these secret Windows 11 performance boost settings available on every PC by Sayan Sen Windows enthusiasts often look for ways to extract as much performance out of their systems as possible, and it's often the case that they try and do so while trying to minimize the heat and power consumption. This is especially relevant in the case of mobile Windows PCs since laptops and notebooks tend to get hot and management of that heat and power is harder in such a form factor. As such users often turn to techniques like under-volting which can be used to squeeze out the maximum capabilities of a chip while also maintaining lowered power levels. There are official apps from AMD and Intel with the likes of Ryzen Master and XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility). While these are quite handy, most enthusiasts probably prefer to dig into the BIOS and play around with settings there like Curve Optimizer on Ryzen, which lets users set various frequency-voltage scaling values. These are essentially called P-States. If you are not familiar with them, Processor Power Management is done through Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) P-states and C-states. While P-states or performance pwoer states handle CPU voltage-frequency scaling, C-states deal with CPU sleep states so that some of the CPU functions, which are not necessary at that moment, can be disabled. The P-states and C-states work together to make the processor run more efficiently. It helps the OS and apps determine which cores can be parked and which should be boosted. Of course not every user is an enthusiast or knows the technicalities and integrities of how things like overclocking or undervolting work. Thankfully for them Windows itself offers something pretty cool, though it is hidden by default on all systems. By default, Windows only has two P-States, "Minimum Processor State" and "Maximum Processor State." However, this can be changed with a Registry trick to expand the options under a secret "Processor performance boost mode" dropdown. This essentially enables the HWP or hardware P-States available on a device, and these are not controlled just by the OS itself as the underlying hardware gets involved too. In total there are five Processor Performance Boost Mode profiles that control how Windows requests and allows CPU turbo/boost behavior under the different power policies. They are: Disabled: In this mode, processor boosting is effectively turned off. The CPU will avoid entering turbo or boost frequencies and instead operate closer to its base frequency ceiling. This can significantly reduce power consumption and heat output, but at the cost of reduced burst performance and responsiveness in short workloads. Enabled: This is the standard behavior where boost functionality is allowed under normal conditions. The processor can opportunistically increase frequency when workload demands it, balancing performance gains with power and thermal constraints as managed by the system. Aggressive: Aggressive mode favors performance more heavily, allowing the CPU to enter higher boost states more readily and sustain them longer. This should in theory improve responsiveness under bursty or heavy workloads but increases power draw and thermal output compared to the default enabled behavior. Efficient Enabled: This mode still allows boosting, but with a stronger bias toward energy efficiency. The system attempts to use boost more selectively, avoiding unnecessary frequency spikes when the performance gain is marginal. Efficient Aggressive: This is a hybrid approach where boost is still performance-responsive, but the system continuously weighs efficiency more heavily than in Aggressive mode. It aims to deliver noticeable performance improvements while reducing wasted power in less demanding scenarios. Here's how to enable the Processor performance boost mode: Open Registry Editor: Press Win+R, type regedit, and click OK. Go to: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7 (where HKLM stands for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_) Modify the value of Attributes from 1 to 2 (you can find modify option by right-clicking) After that, exit Registry, you should now be able to see the new "Processor performance boost mode" dropdown menu: As you can see there are now five new P-States or CPPC states or power profile available that help define the boost mode processor setting on your PC. Wrapping it up here's a quick run-down of the settings as defined by Microsoft itself. Setting Description Disabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is disabled. Collaborative Processor Performance Control (CPPC) behaviour is disabled. Enabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is enabled. CPPC behaviour is Efficient Enabled. Aggressive The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is enabled. CPPC behaviour is Aggressive. Efficient Enabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is Efficient. CPPC behaviour is Efficient Enabled. Efficient Aggressive The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is Efficient. CPPC behaviour is Aggressive. Aggressive At Guaranteed Windows calculates the desired extra performance above the guaranteed performance level, and asks the processor to deliver that specific performance level. Efficient Aggressive At Guaranteed Windows always asks the processor to deliver the highest possible performance above the guaranteed performance level. In the next part we shall be comparing these settings to explore how much of a benefit or regression they can provide in terms of performance and power efficiency. If you decide to change the values on your system and are experiencing problems like crashes or an overheating PC, make sure to revert the steps back to the original state.
    • I think he means you haven't reviewed previous UFC games. Of course it doesn't matter... Every time you just report on something that involves the President even if just simply what happened you guys usually get accused of being anti-Trump. We live in fun times.
    • So how did you solve the problem? Disabling Secure Boot isn’t a solution.
