Mine didn't show the partitions at first...I just reformatted through the xbox and it worked the second time though. No need to hexedit the BEVS drive.

I think that's what they all forgot to do, you have to format the drive in the 360 first.

Well...I had formatted it through the 360 the first time too. It just didn't work for some reason. No clue why. I had to format it twice through the 360. Just something goofy I ran across .: shrug :.

Just real quick, I've been preparing to do this mod for a while. In fact, I was the first to post the directions on the first page but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

There are a lot of pages to read so does anyone mind just listing the game saves that don't work after this mod and if there is a solution to it? I saw the list of games that do work, I just wanna know if any of mine won't work.

Yep, i did mention it a page back i think.

Rock Band 2 doesn't work either. Says something about an invalid storage name, so i guess transferring it will work. I have to wait till i can get my hands on a memory card before i can transfer them.

Also i've noticed PGR4 installed the hard drive has an audio bug, in some races with more than one car the car engines sound distorted and at the end of the race the music slows down. It isn't a big thing as the game is still perfectly playable.

Even though it went against my own personal beliefs as I still think it is a huge rip off, I asked for one for X Mas since I was not paying for it. :p

I know my wife will be getting it for me, so just wanted to know if I should call MS now for the cable if I have to or if it just comes with one.

i can confirm that the 120 GIGS comes with a transfer cable since I4ve bought one.

False. Of course we formatted the drive, otherwise it would be unusable by the 360 anyway, not to mention it wouldn't be picked up by the program.

Besides, it's just not possible to do this mod without the format since you need to enter the console serial ID into the hard drive via format. I don't think it's possible to hex-edit and magically not have to do the format.

Just did this mod. Used a WD3200BEVT NOV 10 2008 DRIVE. Worked like a charm and I'm saved so much money for not purchasing the official Drive. :)

Done mine today, ordered from ebuyer for ?37 for the 120gb and it took about 10 minutes to get it sorted. Works perfectly im chuffed:))
