256 color icons in Tray?

Can compare the two files and then use the result.

Anyone know when http://www.dr-hoiby.com/TrayIconIn256Color/index.html will be up, It seems the site is down, and thats the only site that I know of but Im sure theres more, that tell you how to make the trayicons in 256 color. Can someone recommend another good site?

I think the attached file is the SP4 version.

I personally thin this is a waste of time, as I notice no change in the icons in the tray. :o

i don't have it.. when i used 2000 i let the website hack explorer.exe for itself.. try contacting the author :/

If someone could post the patched SP4 explorer.exe it would really be appreciated, I can't use XP atm b/c of some hardware conflicts and the system tray icons in 2000 suck. I've been looking for an hour and no luck :(

Here's the patched explorer.exe for SP4. Copy the file to C:\WiNNT, boot into safe mode with command prompt and type "cd C:\WINNT" "rename explorer.exe explorer.bk" "rename explorer.new explorer.exe". Restart and you should find computing with Win2k a little more colorful.

Just so everyone knows http://www.dr-hoiby.com/TrayIconIn256Color/index.html is working again so if you're using non English or non SP4 windows 2000 you can get your patches there.
