Ghostbusters 3 (Rumours and Discussion)

Recommended Posts

Fans have been.. well calling a GB3 ever since GB2 came out. Now I"m not too sure about this. I love GB.. a huge huge fan. but Dan Aykroyd already has penned GB3 into the game. So I really don't know if Ramis and Aykroyd are gonna write another script for GB3? Ontop of that, GB3 won't be live action... it'd be cartoonized (for obvious reasons) . But as a fan, I'd love to see GB on the big screen one last time.

I really need to buy Ghostbusters, actually might look into getting those next ready :p

lol.. you can actually wait for the BR edition to come out. Or you can get the double green slime pack with GB and GB2. it should be quite cheap now..

Yeah I might wait tho I can pick up the normal box set for ?5 so might just get that.

well supposedly the Ghostbuster game coming out is supposed to be considered the 3rd film and i am much waiting on the game.

speaker of the movies remeber these lines

Walter Peck: I'm Walter Peck, from the Environmental Protection?

[Venkman shakes hands with Peck and still has ectoplasm on his hands]

Walter Peck: Agency, the third district.

Dr. Peter Venkman: [Peck is wiping the ectoplasm on his jacket] Great, how's it going down there?

Walter Peck: Are you Peter Venkman?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Yes, I'm *Doctor* Venkman!

Walter Peck: Exactly what are you a doctor of, Mr. Venkman?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Well, I have a PhD in parapsychology and psychology.

Walter Peck: And now, you catch ghosts?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Yeah, you could say that.

Walter Peck: And how many ghosts have you caught, Mr. Venkman?

Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm not at liberty to say.

Walter Peck: And where do you put these ghosts, once you catch them?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Into a storage facility.

Walter Peck: And would this storage facility be located on these premises?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Yes.

Walter Peck: And may I see this storage facility?

Dr. Peter Venkman: No.

Walter Peck: And why not, Mr. Venkman?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Because you did not use the magic word.

Walter Peck: What is the magic word, Mr. Venkman?

Dr. Peter Venkman: [looking surprised] Please!

Walter Peck: May I *please* see the storage facility, Mr. Venkman?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Why do you want to see the storage facility?

Walter Peck: Because I'm curious. I wanna know more about what you do here! Frankly, I've heard alot of wild stories in the media and we want to assess any possibility of dangerous and possibly hazardous waste chemicals in your basement.

[Peck is angered]

Walter Peck: Now you either *show me* what is down there, or I come back with a court order.

Dr. Peter Venkman: [Venkman snaps back] You go get a court order, and I'll sue your funny ass for wrongful prosecution.

Walter Peck: You can have it your way, Mr. Venkman.

Dr. Peter Venkman: Oh, my *God*. Look at all the junk food!

Dana Barrett: Oh, dammit. Look, this wasn't here...

Dr. Peter Venkman: You actually eat this?

Dana Barrett: Look, this wasn't here! There was *nothing* here! There was this... space! And there was a building or something with flames coming out of it, and there were creatures writhing around, and they were growling and snarling. And there were flames, and I heard a voice say "Zuul"! It was right here.

Dr. Peter Venkman: Well, I'm sorry, I'm just not getting any reading.

Dana Barrett: Well, are you sure you're using that thing correctly?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Well, I... I think so, but I'm sure there are no animals in there.

Dana Barrett: Well that's just great. Either I have a monster in my kitchen or I'm completely crazy.

Dr. Peter Venkman: [smiles] I don't think you're crazy.

Dana Barrett: [sarcastically] Oh, good, that makes me feel so much better.

Dr. Egon Spengler: I'm worried, Ray. All my readings point to something big on the horizon.

Winston Zeddemore: What do you mean, big?

Dr. Egon Spengler: Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy in the New York area. Based on this morning's reading, it would be a Twinkie thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds.

Winston Zeddemore: That's a big Twinkie.

Dr. Peter Venkman: How's the grid holding up?

Dr. Egon Spengler: Not good.

Winston Zeddemore: Tell him about the Twinkie.

Dr. Peter Venkman: What about the Twinkie?

Ray" VENKMAN! .. PETE! PETE! "

Peter :" He slimed me. "

Ray : "That's great! Actual Physical contact! Can you move? "

Egon*Radio* "Ray, come in Ray "

Peter: " I feel so funky "

Ray: " Spengler! Venkman, he got slimed!"

Egon*Radio* " That's great Ray, Save some for me.. come down here right away. I just went into a ballroom "

Ray: " Ok We'll be right there "

I cant wait for the Blu-Ray release, also Sony are releasing the full series pack of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon from the 80s for the first time ever this nov/dec, i REALLY cant wait im definately gonna buy it.

I don't think you understand how loud the Ghostbuster fans have been about this. Typically I don't take up for studios, but this time they're actually listening to the fans.

Maybe so but will there Be a Ghostbusters 4,5, 6? Like Rocky??

If they can get the original cast it might be worth a look.

Last week, it was announced that "The Office" co-executive producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky were hired by Columbia Pictures to write a script for Ghostbusters 3, but the question remained whether Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson will be back.

Chicago Tribune's Pop Machine received an e-mail from Ramis explaining the situation:

"yes, columbia is developing a script for GB3 with my [Year One] writing partners, gene stupnitsky and lee eisenberg. judd apatow is co-producing [Year One] and has made several other films for sony, so of course the studio is hoping to tap into some of the same acting talent. aykroyd, ivan reitman and i are consulting at this point, and according to dan, bill murray is willing to be involved on some level. he did record his dialogue for the new ghostbusters video game, as did danny and i, and ernie hudson. the concept is that the old ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity.

Who do you think should be the new Ghostbusters?

Once again proving HollyWIERD hasn't had an ORIGINAL idea in over 20 years. All they know how to do is take something

already done, and repackage it. Same with "comic book" movies. Batman, Spiderman et al...

Recycled movies.

this is my favorite bit;

Dr Ray Stantz: Everything was fine with our system until the power grid was shut off by di*kless here.

Walter Peck: They caused an explosion!

Mayor: Is this true?

Dr. Peter Venkman: Yes it's true.

[pause]

Dr. Peter Venkman: This man has no di*k.

Walter Peck: Jeez!

[Charges at Venkman]

Mayor: Break it up! Hey, break this up! Break it up!

Walter Peck: All right, all right, all right!

Dr. Peter Venkman: Well, that's what I heard!

haha. classic stuff.

From what I understand, star Bill Murray was one of the main factors holding back a third GHOST BUSTERS film from happening. The reason given was the amount of money it would take to pay him, which is a load of crap considering the movies he has been in as of late. Last night at AICN's Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, Murray was on hand to talk about CITY OF EMBER, which closed the festival. During the Q+A session with the ex-Ghostbuster, he revealed some really, really interesting stuff, which leads me to believe that I should be charging my proton pack...

I just received an e-mail from IESB.net who was just as perplexed as we are by this website. What is it? Apparently it's a "spy" site run by one of the crew members on Columbia Pictures' Ghostbusters 3. All of our journalistic instincts scream "bullsh*t", yet I can't help but find myself intrigued by the site where you'll find footage from "the set", along with designs for new ghost busting gear. Odds are it's all a crock of sh*t, but with this year being the films' 25th anniversary it's quite possible that this has something to do with the crew who "ain't afraid of no ghosts." If anyone has any intel on what this viral campaign is, drop us a line immediately. We'll update you as soon as it's revealed to be a hoax or not (expect the latter).

    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
