You say that, but look at the trend Hollywood is on now, and has been for a few years already.  They're either taking good selling novels and making them into movies, they're rebooting old classic Hollywood hits, or they're doing the old prequel/sequel bit.    A GB3, if it goes how it sounds so far, could be a sequel but more so it could be thought of as a reboot as well.  In the end it falls into the new Hollywood agenda right behind all the other "cult classics" and big name hits from long ago.
