Ghostbusters 3 (Rumours and Discussion)

They are still writing the story Rappeh. It hasn't even been green-lit by Columbia. Although I'd really want them to hurry up, but not to rush it. Hurry up because everyone's getting old. Seriously. lol.

Nice find on the Simpsons.. so what's it about?

Actually they green-lit the film September 4, 2008. They wouldn't have hired writers if it wasn't green-lit.

oh I guess the script isn't approved yet lol. As far as I know they aren't in Post yet.

There's was an interview with Harold Ramis recently and he made it sound like they were still working on ideas, but I've heard they are suppose to start filming in Sept, but who knows where they are with the project. But the project has been greenlit though.

Once Columbia hired writers to start writing the film, it was greenlit, that is if it wasn't already greenlit. This project has been worked on off and on since the late '80s, early '90s.

Reitman 'on board' for new 'Ghostbusters'

Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 director Ivan Reitman has agreed to work on the third movie in the franchise, reports suggest.

According to horror fansite Bloody Disgusting, Reitman has not yet decided whether he will direct the project but has indicated that he will be on board to produce.

It is thought that the forthcoming sequel will see the team of paranormal experts resurrecting their ghost-capturing business after it has been closed for years.

Meanwhile, there are also rumours that the film's writing duo Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg have now turned in a script.

The original Ghostbusters movie was released in 1984, while the second followed five years later. News of the latest instalment first emerged in July 2008.

Dan Aykroyd On Ghostbusters 3

There are many long awaited film sequels in the works and Ghostbusters 3 in one of them. We?ve heard updates from various actors, producers, and even the director of the previous movies in regards to the status of the film. Co-star Dan Aykroyd recently spoke about the new movie Wednesday night on the radio show Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, and he gave listeners an earful.

Aykroyd told the host and the audience that Sony is very excited about the film, and screenwriters Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg are currently ?hacking out a first draft.? For the most part, Ghostbusters 3 has been a dream project for fans everywhere. They want a reunion and it seemed like a far fetched idea for a very long time. Even Akyroyd admitted that the third movie is a lot closer to reality than he could have imagined.

The actor didn?t go on to clarify any other details regarding the film from that point on, but it does leave a little hope. Other rumors that have been circling the film have to do with the reluctance of certain actors returning. For the most part, Bill Murray has been pointed out as the original ?buster? who doesn?t want to put on his overalls. Not to be mean, but he doesn?t want to commit to anything because a script hasn?t been nailed down yet. The last time I checked, that wasn?t reluctance, that was common sense.

Once an official draft as been submitted for revision to the studio, then we can start hounding the cast and the director. Until then, everything is just talk.

Sigourney Weaver leaks some plot details?

?I?m afraid to say it [Ghostbusters 3] is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don?t know if I?m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking ?would you read the script?.

?I know that my little son Oscar ? who was kidnapped from me ? I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster.

?I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don?t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it ? he?s a ghost.?

so if I'm right, they are sticking with the original plan with #3. Venkman is a Ghost, entire new cast of GBs which will be lead by Stantz, Spengler and Zeddemore. Elisha Dushku and or Alyssa Milano joins the new cast of GBs?? Possible love interest of Oscar? Dana Barrett probably has a cameo somewhere in the film. She said a small part..so maybe a Guidance figure for Oscar for character development? maybe.. lol

really good news so far (Y)

Late last week Sigourney Weaver let slip some pretty huge news that Bull Murray may return as a ghost in the long-gestured Ghostbusters 3. During a recent junket for Avatar in London, Weaver was confronted about her earlier statement, which clears up a few things. So will Murray be a ghost? "I don't know," she told MTV. "He could come back as a sort of Slimer character." She continues, "I haven't read the script...I guess my little son Oscar who was kidnapped is a Ghostbuster, which makes me very proud." You can watch the full interview here.

Harold Ramis Promises Ghostbusters 3 For 2011

The statements come from Heeb, which spoke to the director about many of his films, and got a couple neat statements about Groundhog Day. (Check the source for those.) Of Ghostbusters 3, he says:

Something?s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We?ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ? GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011.

as long as they don't make ANY of the old cast a GHOST it'll be good. They made two brilliant movies already, why ruin the 3rd one.

let's hope Sigourney was wrong then :p

    • If you can't spell a simple word that 2nd graders learn, your entire argument is suspect.
    • And here goes the "Won't someone think of the children" brigade. Get stuffed mate. This has NOTHING to do with making the internet safe. It's about tracking adults, spying on your online activity, and sending the boys around when they don't like something you post. Also, again, parliament have voted TWICE against this, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. THAT is anti-democratic bullsh**. They will use this law to track you, they will use this law to control you, and they will use this law to punish you if they don't like what you do, even if it's legal. And your data? Say bye bye to that. It'll be on the darkweb in weeks. I'm not some rando online. I've been an IT professional for 40 years, many of it in security. I know exactly what this means and what will happen to your data. I do not consent and I will not comply.
    • "...but it may not be Microsoft's fault" seems like a reasonable way to tease what is going on without leaving the user with a false impression that an update is the problem. A title isn't a summery, it is meant to entice the user to read the article. It should not contain a misleading premise; which this title does not. You could maybe complain that the first paragraph should have included that detail. The writing style popularized over 100 years ago in newspapers will cover the most important information as soon as possible with details and nuance added later; the idea being that with each new paragraph you have less of the reader's focus.
    • Samsung Galaxy XR arrives in the UK with new AI and enterprise features by Fiza Ali Samsung is bringing its Galaxy XR headset to the UK several months after the device made its debut as the first headset built on Google's Android XR platform. The headset was first teased in late 2024 alongside Google's introduction of Android XR before making its commercial debut in 2025. Developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, Galaxy XR combines mixed reality experiences with Gemini-powered AI features, allowing users to interact with digital content using voice, gestures, and visual inputs. While the hardware itself remains largely unchanged from the version Samsung unveiled last year, the company is using the UK launch to spotlight several software enhancements that have arrived through recent updates. Among the most notable additions is deeper integration with Google's ecosystem. Galaxy XR users can explore destinations through Google Maps' Immersive View, receiving AI-powered recommendations and contextual information from Gemini while navigating virtual environments. Furthermore, entertainment experiences have also expanded; users can watch 180-degree and 360-degree videos on YouTube, browse spatial content converted into 3D, and ask Gemini questions about on-screen content without interrupting playback. Samsung is also highlighting mixed-reality features such as Circle to Search, which allows users to identify real-world objects through hand gestures while using the headset's video pass-through mode. Another feature automatically converts photos and videos into spatial 3D experiences. Moreover, the headset now also supports Android Enterprise, allowing organisations to manage deployments using existing Android management tools. Annika Bizon, Vice President, Product and Marketing, Mobile Experience, Samsung UK & Ireland, talked about the device, stating: The headset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform and features dual 4K Micro-OLED displays. The tech giant says that users can expect up to 2.5 hours of battery life. Samsung also confirmed that Galaxy XR will continue receiving software and security updates as the company works alongside Google and Qualcomm to expand the Android XR ecosystem. Galaxy XR is now available for pre-order and will go on sale on 8 July. Customers interested in trying the headset before launch can visit Samsung KX in London and selected Samsung Experience Stores from 17 June. Finally, the company will also host a livestream on 19 June showcasing the headset's capabilities and answering questions from prospective customers.
