"The Amazing Spiderman" (2012)

Recommended Posts

I"m glad the official shot of the suit looks good because it looks really bad on the set. Regardless I'm excited. I do think it's weird to have a reboot done so close to the last film being released. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago...

4 years / 5 years when this comes out is not too long ago?

Executive producer Avi Arad is saying that director Marc Webb?s upcoming take on Spidey won?t go the route of previous comic book reboots like Batman Begins and (to a lesser degree) The Incredible Hulk by essentially ignoring the existence of its predecessors.

Arad spoke to EW recently and informed the magazine that Amazing Spider-Man ?won?t erase what came before, but will try to weave a narrative that could take place within the framework of the earlier films.?

To quote the producer directly:

?It?s not a comeback. You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn?t see in movies 1, 2, and 3.?

Yeah, right. I think even the most hardcore fans of the first three films have come to terms with the reboot, so his statement comes a good year too late.

For what it's worth, I was among the people annoyed by the reboot happening so fast, but at least they're putting effort into these movies, good cast, decent director. Most of us are mature enough to realize the sole reason that The Amazing Spider-Man exists is that Sony doesn't loose its cash cow, but if they make a decent movie out of it, who cares? I found his statement insulting, to be honest.

As usual, it's best to take the following spoilers with a huge pinch of salt. However, there's no denying that this may lead to some fantastic scenes in the upcoming reboot! Read the details below and then be sure to share your thoughts on this in the usual place!

"Occasionally we get some exclusive scoops sent our way, and this one is quite interesting."

"One of the primary important crew members (who shall remain nameless) recently let it slip to one of our readers (a trusted one at that) that many of the stunt actors in the film have

been spending time in heavy make-up for hours on end because of a fight scene in the film where they?re turning all the S.W.A.T. team guys into reptilian creatures? which I?d assume is some nefarious work of The Lizard."

Starring Andrew Garfield in the title role and Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released on July 3, 2012!

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
    • As a game dev, today was really depressing. They announced that Blueprints will be deprecated in UE6 to be fully replaced by their sh**ty Python-like Verse language... They also announced that 5.8 will be the last version of UE5 until UE6 comes out in MID 2029!!!! They have completely lost the plot.
