GTA inspires a child to heroism

Recommended Posts

We've already written about this incredibly annoying trend where parents and the general public blame games for their children?s shortcomings, but this time we get to hear another side of the story. While driving to Illinois to visit their relatives, the Norris family had a serious accident involving several flips of the car. And guess who showed true heroism ? their 11 year old daughter that was inspired by GTA! (All GTA releases following GTA2 are rated M in the U.S. How come an 11 year old kid was playing it in the first place? sub.ed.)

Apparently their daughter Audrey, while playing GTA, saw that a car that flips several times may explode, so she took some action to prevent such a scenario. She climbed out the back window and then helped her parents and younger siblings to safety.

So folks, there you have it! Although I?m not happy about what happened to this family, I?m extremely happy that GTA finally got some positive press. This paints a totally different picture of this game as an actually educational and life-saving piece of software. (Sure it does, sub.ed.)

But the girl that was playing GTA ? wasn?t she supposed to go out beat up a cab driver, steal the car and money and drive off into the sunset? No madam, your son is just violent and badly raised and would?ve done that sooner or later ? with or without GTA. As for Audrey, we salute her bravery and wish her luck in defeating the gangs in San Andreas. And on that note ? All Hail GTA!

Wow, she's truly an American hero, **** yeah! Of course it's impossible that she's ever seen some action movies where scenes like that happen every five minutes and get inspired by such. I guess GTA can finally be considered an educational game and it should be utilized in schools, since everybody strives to become a hero!

This is so truly amazing of course nobody will even think about wondering why an 11 year old girl is playing the latest and greatest blockbuster criminal life simulator "video game", oh no. Nobody will knock on the poor but saved parent victims and ask how they can let their daughter play such game.

Seriously, this story is the sweetest pile of sensational bull**** I've read all month. It's even dumber than the usual video game blaming when some pathetic **** starts another school shooting.

Beat me to it.

Irresponsible parents maybe?

"Ohhh you want this PS3 / Xbox 360? Fine, I'll buy it!

Ohhh you want GTA4? Wait, it's rated M, is it? ... Awwww.... Ooookay! I'm gonna buy it!"

I like the source though...FUD zilla...kindoff gives away what this article is =/

They had TV in 1908? hmm....could've sworn the Airplane was just coming into development around then...Funny...1908 and it took almost 50-60 years to get color? wow.... /sarcasm

    • I totally disagree. Very little good comes out of governments all around the world manipulating everything they can and usually the people are not the benefactors. What you say about being restricted and expensive sounds almost like the arguments against firearms and why banning them will protect people as if making something illegal somehow will prevent the criminals from having and using them. AI being far less mainstream could simply mean the average person will not benefit, but "big brother" and the corporations will benefit, which is almost for sure NOT a good thing.

    • "connect with audiences" is the most obvious corporate speak you can think of. I only bought Need for Speed from EA because it was the only racing game with cops in existence and I dig that. Now that they killed off NFS franchise, I have nothing to spend money on. EA is officially dead for me, just like Ubisoft which I've been boycotting for some 20 years now...
