New Family - Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates

Recommended Posts

OMG that was funny... And I couldn't stand Seinfeld's sitcom. (I think it was the music, not the humor.)

This campaign will be a hit. :)

The haters posting in this thread about it are quite predictable. I could have listed them before they even posted...

The only thing even slightly entertaining in those Ad's is Bill Gates doing the 'robot'.

Please, Dear God, don't let these Ad's come to Australia.

I would rather these ads on TV then those bloody american germaphobe ads with dubbed over australian accents. >_<

I really think they are laying the groundwork for a huge Windows 7 campaign which is a great idea if you ask me.

You may well be right. ;)

Wish we could just fast forward to 1 week before Christmas and see what Microsoft has planned for Windows 7.

You watched it, right? :p

Anyways, I liked it.

Bill's delivery on his lines left a little to be desired.

Doesn't that actually help though? I mean if he delivered his lines like a professional actor it wouldn't seem believable and throw off their casual, average Joe kind of add wouldn't it?

I can agree with that. I like the casual attitude about it. Also, the fact that you don't know where they're going is sort of a good thing considering when you watch a Mac ad, you hear,"Hi, I'm a mac..." and know the rest of the story: lol windows sux haha. Right.

This actually keeps me watching to see where it goes. It doesn't matter exactly that they're not directly advertising. They're entertaining you, and you remember it as the Microsoft commercials. Or at least entertaining a majority of people, considering we all don't have the same sense of humor.

Personally though, I liked the first one better. Quick paced, kind of an awkward feeling to it that really made me laugh.

and again i ask though, is windows something that people really need to become "acquainted" with? most people know about windows already, so what they are doing is actually great. Those who hate the these, would you really like to see mac bashing coms? If not, could you really think of something better that wouldnt come off as arrogant or stupid?

this was another great commercial.

I feel like a nerd for laughing at the part when Gates mentioned inheritance and polymorphism.

As compared to the first commercial, it's a definite improvement. Too long to be considered a commercial, but (mildly) entertaining nonetheless.

I love these new commercials, just as long as they're not over-shown every other "commercial break". That's when they jsut get annoying.

It's kind of clever the way Microsoft is doing this. They're marketing without the use of insults and mudslinging we are all so familiar with in the imfamous "I'm a Mac" ads. I'll bet that's thier true plan, to get people to think differently of them. Of course, they have probably crack team of psychology experts backed behind the commercial ideas and their effect on our brains. This advertising campaigne will eventually result in an image impounded in our heads that PC is awesome and Mac is evil and it'll eventually form into soem kind of indirect yet effective advertising.....omfg I think I figured out the logic in this...

This also reminds me of the poptart commercials I used to watch when I was a kid. Funny, entertaining, catchy, memorable....

I have complete faith in Microsoft. After all, didn't they spend a fortune and a hell of alot of time on the Vista sounds? And we all know how that turned out.

I've always found Jerry Seinfeld as funny as a freshly vinegared, hacksawed penis. So my views are somewhat biased.

Anyone else notice that the old lady says "it's a blown headgasket" after coming out from underneath the car? That's really not where you'd be diagnosing a blown head gasket..

Anyways, loved the commercial, thought it was great :D Can't wait to see where this campaign is going.

Nah... I'd be surprised if they ever even mention Macs... :)

Pretty good but when is Microsoft going to stretch it overseas. We like Seinfeld too. Perhaps that's another Microsoft problem, US centric.

We have Mac vs PC ads. You see Apple advertising constantly in the UK at least.
