Kevincvz
Just wanted to post that link. I have to say that it looks like they are doing some good things. I like the overall look, Windows solution Center and what they have done to 'personalization'. Sam Symons Veteran Posted September 19, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 19, 2008 I personally like the Ribbon system. Word seemed a bit daunting when I first opening it, with so many thing crammed into such a small space, but when I started using it it really came together well. And it's sexy ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/670144-7-milestone-3-already/page/3/#findComment-589821552 Share on other sites
jporter
For the first time I have the feeling they are really doing something about stuff that has been needing updates for such a long time like Notepad, Wordpad, Paint. These are good programs but they need to be updated over time to sync with current formats / needs. I think people who 'hate' ribbon are being stubborn. It's there to make our lives easier, just adopt to it. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/670144-7-milestone-3-already/page/3/#findComment-589890218 Share on other sites
//bullet
Can I ask y'all kind of a stupid question? When you apply/applied for private tester status, what did you say for 'company'? I do use a common name when I build PC's for people, should I just use that? Thanks, BTW. //bullet
Okay. I don't mean to get off-topic, but I really am lost. I sent my resume to [email protected], but I've sent it three times and have gotten failure notices. I tried using my Hotmail (windows live) address twice, both of those didn't work so I sent a test message from my Hotmail to my Yahoo, and that worked... so then I sent it again from my Yahoo, and got the error again. Was the server shut-down, temporarily offline for some reason, or... what? Thanks for your help. =P Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/670144-7-milestone-3-already/page/3/#findComment-589931314 Share on other sites

//bullet
On numerous sites found by Google I found stuff like this... "To submit your name for consideration for Microsoft private betas, send an email to [email protected], with the information below..." That I think was posted by an Ex MS Employee here. Just make sure you participate properly in any beta you sign up to. Dane
Some people are asking how can they get in to test this. most likely if you tested vista and such you'll get in. Mr. Dee
Some people are asking how can they get in to test this.most likely if you tested vista and such you'll get in. Windows 7 I believe will be a much smaller, more private, intimate beta. I think what happened with Vista was it got too large and unwieldy with up 20 to 30 thousand beta testers. I am not discriminating against that, but I believe, too many cooks in the kitchen tend to spoil the pot. Of course Microsoft will accept new eyes to look at the code. But, I just don't see that free for all happening with 7 like it did with Vista. Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted October 8, 2008 Global Moderator Share Posted October 8, 2008 Ribbon takes up too much space? I think you can't go more minimalistic than this... Wow... that is really nice. I assume there will be a new Microsoft Office for Windows 7? Mr. Dee
Wow... that is really nice. I assume there will be a new Microsoft Office for Windows 7? There will be a new Microsoft Office, codename 'Office 14', its not necessarily for Windows 7, although they are most likely to be launched together and be more synergistic. Sem XL
What makes you think it has anything to do with MS employees being superstitious? just going by what i read Most sources agree that Microsoft will skip version "13" due to superstition (see triskaidekaphobia). Regardless of what they call it, expect the inertia of current installs to slow adoption of both Office 2007 and its future incarnations http://blogs.zdnet.com/Burnette/?p=263 if thats not the case why was 13 skipped ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/670144-7-milestone-3-already/page/3/#findComment-589947036 Share on other sites
