Worlds youngest sex change

Recommended Posts

Kim Petras - originally called Tim - changed sex after she started hormone treatment at the age of just twelve.

Now 16-year-old Kim is ready to storm the charts with her first album after landing a record deal.

The German teenager has overcome years of taunts and bullying to release her first CD after becoming a cult hit on MySpace and You Tube. SEE HER PICTURE GALLERY

Kim, who is now officially registered as a female and has long blonde hair and blue eyes, said: ?My music is most important to me at the moment. It?s the way I can best express myself.

?I know that because of my past people will always bring up the subject, I can?t get away from it.

?But I hope that one day I might be better known for my music than for my past.?

Kim was diagnosed as a transsexual three years ago.

Doctors and psychiatrists concluded that her claims to be "in the wrong body" were so deeply felt that she required treatment.

Her therapy included artificially halting male puberty - with a series of potent hormone injections.

She was then administered female hormones to initiate the development of her breasts.

I'd hit that - only to get her home, get the clothes off and go "WTF! That shouldn't be there:wacko:uot;

What kind of sick parents would let the child do that so young??... At age 16?? He (she) is still in puberty! The body hasn't fully grown up yet!! Isn't there going to be complications?...

Whoa, transvestite!

Wait, Pre-op or Post-op?

Pre-op.

Whoa, transvestite!

Nice Family Guy reference. That's too young to be deciding something that drastic that will affect you for the rest of your life.

Not that I'm advocating this, but wouldn't it be easier to do a sex change before puberty? A lot of the male hormones would have not started it's increase or what not, allowing the feminine stuff to be more effective than when it's combating another set that is already fully in place...

It doesn't really matter when you try to do this. You'll always be a man with a mutilated penis, or a woman with a mutilated vagina.

lol it still escapes me how scientists can 'diagnose' a transexual. just as homosexuality is NOT genetic, neither is this. it's all environmental.

however, people who make the decision to get a sex change are usually old enough to live with that decision for the rest of their life and beyond, but at the age of 12 to start 'treatment' is just ludicrous. hopefully he/"she" feels complete now, and hopefully will not regret their decision at least in this life.

craziness.

If the diagnosis and need for treatment are rock solid then it is much better to treat before puberty in order to be left with a more acceptable result....assuming they are going to be treated regardless. I think that it's really hard to truly say if it's right for the child to go through such a major process, a LOT of counselling and therapy etc would be needed to ensure they aren't confused... but any transexual should get that anyway.

I know someone who had a male - to - female sex change after living as a grown man for years. She is still taller than most women, has broad shoulders and a more masculine face. Those are all things that happen during puberty and make it harder to feminise her appearance. Clearly it makes sense to stop the shoulders and height growing, stop the face becoming more masculine..

As for the "mutilated genitalia" - I don't think that is a worry for these people. They don't like what they've got so it's no loss if it gets lopped off is it? And in return they get something they'd much rather have, even if it's not pornstar perfect. There is more to life than sex and sexual organs and the sort of person who can get over being with someone who had a sex change is really not going to judge them over what's in their pants.
