Neowin 8 years today & details on a new design

8 Million by Oct 1st

You may remember the forum thread where I asked, 8 million by Oct 1st 2008 & Win! a copy of Vista Ultimate on May 7th of this year, when it looked like we might miss the target. Well today we are well over 8 million and I'm proud to announce that lylesback2 won the copy of Windows Vista, congrats to him! A big thanks also go out to our community for standing by us all these years, and as I say every year: Here's to another X years!"

No, 8 millionth post didn't get Vista, it was a huge coincidence. He got the post, and got randomly selected for Vista. And he made a motivational poster like 3 days before he actually got the post to pretend he won. He has a time machine for sure...

Neobond said it would be chosen among active members, not who made the 8th million post - That went out the window at 200mph

I said that but it got ignored.

Please people think of the kittens! :(

I guess I support the fact that a subscriber one, he does support the site. So its more enjoyable to that user.

Maybe what Neobond meant was the winner would be the 8millionth post, and at that time, it was completely random as to who... it would.... be...?

so *he* would *randomly* select a person from a group of 1? (after all, only 1 person could post the 8m post) :p
