[Official] Halo 3: ODST

Recommended Posts

@Lex: Yeah I wish they didnt just hire any teenager for a Game store and Fusion if you go back say your talking about the "Sgt Johnson pre order that you get WHEN YOU PICK UP THE GAME."

Tell them it literally says "Available at time of purchase, limited supplies". Thats the same thing it says to us(GameStop) and we didnt get ANY in yet. As far as i know thats the only REAL bonus that every company is getting. Other is Reach but that is gonna come inside the game. I dont think there is any other bonus but walmarts own special bonuses(like the lanyards for gow2, only they had those).

The guy knows games, and he even knew which one i was talking about, gonna check back this week before work... i want my cigar chomping, ass kicking black dude.

i can't wait for this, i've just started playing halo 3 online again, and god didn't know how suck assy it got, constant lag, searching for a game with a population of 50k, takes like 5 minutes and brings up 1 or 2 possible matches, and most playlists REQUIRE the map packs, obviously with ODST you get the maps, but thats not the point, me and a mate were limited to team skirmish or team slayer and thats all we could do, on the plus side, not long till i get my mits on this game :D

this game is a factor in deciding on whether to take this job overseas...i may want to be around when it comes out, and a new job will definitely get in the way!

Your job is more important. Multi player can wait, believe me even Halo 3 will continue to be played for a long time to come.

I don't know about you guys but I will be purchasing Halo 3 ODST upon its release.

I had exactly the same experience last night, I think it?s a bit of a kick in the teeth the people who have owned Halo 3 since day 1 but don?t have all the new maps. Separate play lists for people with all the maps should be created instead...

The exact same happened with Halo 2 which was rather annoying at the ti:devil:vil: As you say it won?t matter once ODST is released for people who plan to buy it.

v-99, not sure if it can wait, and i don't mean just gaming, you know what they say. every day lived is a day lost!

You know just to share a little story w/ you, my parents took my 360 away to concentrate on school more (which in effect is doing the exact opposite, I can't do well if you take things away that make me who I am). So will likely happen is that I'll buy ODST but won't be able to play till Winter break.

I'm about to turn 21 in a few months. It's a bunch of BS I have to deal with I know but I'm making this reference because you can't always get what you want. I know when ODST is released your ass will have the most happiest times ever spent in online gaming. TBH I feel sad in my heart I won't be able to join you. But maybe I can break the rules just once. You're right about one thing; Life is too short, it's especially too short if you're in fear of constant ridicule.

 You're a funny cat AB. Will you be having lunch with the President as well?(aka playing ODST with us upon release)

I'll be playing it at some point, I'm not the biggest Halo fan but nothing beats playing online co-op split screen with 2-4 of your mates in the same room. Halo's like the only FPS game you can do that with this generation that you'd want to.

Reminds me of playing Goldeneye with 4 friends, except obviously you're online with other people now :p

It's the goldeneye of our time w/ an integrated online component.

I'll be honest, I'm not crazy about Halo but I have interest in it. I read one novel called "Ghosts of Onyx" by Eric Nyluno and it was the most enjoyable read based on a video game.

edit: what the dizzle you added golden eye before I finished my post! You're good! It's like we got telepathy.. lol!

Police Swarm To Bungie On Weapons Call During Kotaku Visit

A report of a person with an assault weapon walking near Bungie Studios sent a team of police swarming to the Kirkland, Washington studio yesterday afternoon.

The incident turned out to be a misunderstanding and a surprise interruption of what was supposed to be a less eventful visit by your deputy editor to play some Halo 3: ODST.

The person who had thought they'd seen a gunman in the neighborhood had actually seen a Bungie employee carrying a replica Halo rifle back to the studio's offices, Bungie community director Brian Jarrard told me. Recognizing there was no longer an emergency, officers advised Bungie officials to transport the gun more discretely in the future.

Kirkland police, contacted today for more details, said a passerby on their way to the local farmer's market called 911 saying that they thought they saw someone walking down the street with an AK-47 about 4:20 p.m.

Full Story + Source.

funny news article.

v-99, i think you should make it clear to your parents the hobbies in your life make you both happier and more productive in the end. you're 21 for heaven's sake, they can't control you to that extent anymore. don't think i'm making fun of you or nothing, i understand wher they're coming from, but it's not called for.

AB, aren't you the motivational speaker, better add that gem to the book of life :book:

unfortunately in the end we're all losers, a trip to your local cadaver depository should be evidence enough :bat:

And I thought my parents were strict. They let me game as much as I want so long as I finish my school work. Of course, that was the case with middle school and high school. University is a different story. I can do whatever the hell I want.

Anyway, have you guys seen the full version of the Halo 3: ODST live action trailer? If not, check it out here.

So I loved the GameStop commercial so much (the one with Sgt. Johnson running through & everybody dancing) that I went ahead and pre-ordered it

Well done to whoever made that commercial... It worked on me!

where did you see it? i've had the TV on Fox and CW most of the day and haven't noticed anything.

BTW munky i invite you check out page 103 of the leaderboard thread to see the sequence for yourself, it's not how you remember it. Mixing Xanax and Lyrica may hamper anger control, but it doesn't adversely affect memory, i thought i had it correctly.

any chance of a demo? Can't even remember whether Halo 3 had a demo or not.

Halo 3 had a beta with Crackdown and the family friends thing I believe. Outside of that nothing, and I'm pretty sure their won't be a demo for ODST.

    • AMD 26.6.2 driver brings FSR 4.1 support to RDNA 3 RX 7000 series graphics cards by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe A new driver is rolling out to Radeon graphics hardware owners, and alongside support for new games, AMD has just made its FSR 4.1 upscaling tech available to an entire generation of its products. Last month, AMD announced it is answering community requests to bring FSR 4.1 to past generations of its Radeon graphics cards. This would be starting with RDNA 3 RX 7000 products. Right on schedule, this is what's rolling out now with the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver containing official support for over 300 games. Following this, AMD is planning to bring out RDNA 2 (RX 6000 series) support for FSR 4.1 sometime in early 2027. As for the games, this Adrenalin 26.6.2 driver is a recommended install for anyone jumping into Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced remake or id Software's DOOM: The Dark Ages' Revelations expansion. The two fixed issues in this release are these: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing RoadCraft on Radeon™ RX 7000 series products. Purple screen may be displayed when using an HP Reverb G2 headset with SteamVR on Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics products. The known issues AMD is still working on are the following: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Battlefield 6 on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is actively working on a resolution with the developer to be released as soon as possible. Texture flickering or corruption may appear while playing Battlefield 6 with AMD Record and Stream on some AMD graphics products. AMD FSR Upscaling and AMD FSR Frame Generation may show as inactive in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition while playing Battlefield 6 when enabled on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Failure to install may be observed while installing AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub. Model flickering or rendering failure may be observed in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on Radeon RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. Intermittent application crash may be observed on some models while running Blender on Radeon RX 7000 and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. The newly released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver is now available for download from the AMD Software app. Find the official changelog here.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
