[Official] Halo 3: ODST

Recommended Posts

Ah yeah true.

I guess Neowin should get ready to stop people posting impressions till nearer the time, there's been no reports of UK/English speaking EU countries selling copies in large enough numbers it's obvious if anyone here is posting spoilers they've downloaded. Unless they're French :p

I remember someone spoiled MGS4 for Sethos was it? And that was just a few days before release :/ I guess those weren't copies but so Neowin couldn't delete spoilers/impressions.

It wouldn't make sense to segregate ODST players from Halo 3 players. The multiplayer is IDENTICAL (aside from firefight, which is on the ODST disk anyway), the only difference is you get the extra maps on the disk instead of DLC. Its the same with Left 4 Dead and the GOTY edition - they are both compatible with each other, despite the content on each disk being slightly different.

Like I said, there probably isn't a playlist for the "new" maps that ship with ODST but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to play with the existing playlists since they're controlled server side anyway.

Yeah, thankfully the member was banned. He PMd me all the games major spoilers throughout the game.

We won't be seeing spoilers from me till closer to wed/thurs when we get our copies in the shop. ;D

oops wrong grayfox, there was an almost identical named member who was banned.

But MGS3_Grayfox Popisdead the 5th is banned anyway, or at least as good as :)

Popisdead the 5th, LOL.

If you're gonna play illegitimate games then at least make them yourself, so much cheaper! Actually it depends if you know the person selling

heh

Fortunately my mate opened an Indy store so as long as I'm doing part time work there he's happy to let me take games out the back till release. :)

Unlike the guys at GAME & co I keep my mucky paws off the disc and box! ;D

Ah yeah my brother works there as well! :D

Just pulling your leg spookie, but if you do start posting impressions in like 2 days people will be suspicious without proof, just saying!

Well ******** to em, I'm not going out my way to take photos of a disc! :p

Well to be fair Spookie it takes like 2 minutes to take a picture, it's the first thing most people do when they get a game early to brag :p

I done it with MGS4 and LBP, you get all excited getting it early and take pictures! Then get abused by jealous people and those worried bout spoilers ;)

nahh just finished it, that was 7.5/10

but really Halo 3 was 9.2/10

And you're 0/10

:woot:

lol @ the very thought Halo is only worth 1.3 more than Wolf

Maybe you should buy a game once in a while Draken. You might appreciate it more!

can someone enlighten me with more details on the firefight mode? is it similar to horde on gears of war where you just fight AI enemies over and over? me and my friend gave it a go on split screen and just had no idea what the hell was going on.

    • Re: Capitalism. It's just 1 of dozens of economic models currently-adopted worldwide; most national models separate money from politics thereby limiting the influence wealth carries over the economy (due to limited tentacles wealth politics has over the broader economy). The "American model" of unfettered financial influence should NOT be the variant of pure capitalism adopted worldwide. More regulations formulated within this variant is effectively useless due to the misalignment between regulatory objectives and fundamental influence wealth politics carry over the market. Re: enough money. Without constraining the breadth/depth/scope/scale that any measure of money/wealth can have within a market, there will always inherently be those who have "enough money" and those who do not. Those without "enough money" will always lose -- regardless if a bedroom DJ, indie developer, or million-dollar corporation going against a billion-dollar mega-corporation. The evil is the absence of guardrails against the influence of wealth; not the mere existence of wealth. Re: dragged through the courts. The liberalist nature of litigation does not exclude anyone, anywhere, for any reason for getting dragged through the courts. Rather than formalize remediation pathways for various perceived ills, everything is left up to flawed interpretations... and this is where a litigation-averse community fails to thrive (thus a losing proposition when dragged to courts). Everyone should have more protections and clear remediation strategies! Going to an alternate remediation arbitration is OK so long as the case review and remediation processes are clear and transparent. For corporations, hit them where it hurts: automatic financial penalties. (PS: This is where corporate risk management strategies would do well to behave more ethically.) Overall, failure to truly shake-up the incentive core and regulatory extremities of the economic market will necessarily mean that all other actions are simply applying lipstick on a pig. Change begins from the inside. Is the root cause of the problem that a majority of consumers within a market goes for Option Brand-name versus Option Indie? Or that brand-name is spending foreign money to control domestic markets? Or that money is the objective measure for success across all walks of life? Or that deep pockets dictate the moral and ethical rights/wrongs of entire societies? Regardless of the answer (and there's nothing inherently wrong with being a socialist or communist or whatever label your surroundings deem 'cool' or 'uncool') there's a common thread: If a market truly wants to nurture domestic innovation, then performative finger-wagging will do nothing to that end.
