Some day I'll try build computer on shuttle :)

Yeah? They are kind of nice, being small an having a pretty good MOBO, but the powersupply suck. That and the difficulty in putting one together. The place where I bought it is considering not carring them. I was thinking of getting one for myself even though I just got an old laptop and have the system below. The nice thing about shuttle is that they offer a good Intel chipset model that looks really kool, and probably would outlast the AMD models....sad though the thought is. ;)

hey, I just got online for the first time with my new laptop! Ok it's not brand new, it is the laptop my wife's friend gave me for helping her build that shuttle. It is an old Compaq Presario 1200XL series laptop. It has a highspeed K6-2 processor! and 32mb of RAM, with 6gig HD. Real nice specs. (I'm only joking). It may not be much but at least I can type this with it. It isn't too bad, seems to run pretty good. The battery had gone bad, the friend had been using it as a desktop and didn't know the battery went bad, just thought the whole thing had gone south, So she gave it to me to help her. I already ordered a memory upgrade and if things go well then I may get a new battery although I'm not certain why I should, the power cord works fine. I hope XP will go on it, Compaq has detailed instructions for installation. Any thoughts?

1st built by me system (check sig) so far only paid $300 for it, don't know if that good or not but all I need now is a graphics card and I'm set.

-add 15" pos monitor

-hp keyboard

-logitech optical mouse

-case w/400watts

-16x12x48 cd burner and 48x cdrom

now I gotta update my sig :(

When i bought it, it was a abit kg7 with a amd 1.4ghz cpu

it had a 512 ddr-ram n with a hercules geforce 2 mx 32megs

Okay let's hear it people, is the 333FSB really better than than the 266FSB? comparing say 2.2gig on a 266FSB and a 333FSB? what is some noticible difference?

i could easily see the 400FSB, being better...But damn the electric cost. I hope you dont live on the WEST COAST, especially California....Blackouts will be hourly news.

Think of it being 2.6 lanes on a highway compared to 3.3... which will have more traffic???

Im taking it that you are talking about the AMD 333 and the P4 400 fsb's.... about the cost, P4 uses less power than AMD...

No actually I meant the difference from a 266FSB to a 333FSB, which you kind of answered for me somewhat. But AMD is coming out with a 400FSB soon, so I was referring to that and not Intel.

Anyway, do you have a 333FSB? can you tell a big difference? I am looking at slowing down for a while to 200FSB to save money on electricity. Cause I am supposing higher FSB equal more electric consumption???

Thanks for responding, :D

    • WhatsApp document scanning gets closer to launch as more beta testers get access by Paul Hill Meta looks as though it’s getting closer to releasing WhatsApp’s native document scanner on Android because more people are now reporting they have access in the beta. This will give users a privacy-friendly way to snap photos of documents and automatically convert them to PDF ready for sharing. According to WABetaInfo, the feature comes with two modes: manual and automatic. The manual capture gives users more control over the process allowing them to adjust positioning and lighting to get the best quality scan. Automatic mode on the other hand automatically detects the edge of your document on its own and snaps the image without too much user input, making it faster and easier. Once the picture is taken, WhatsApp automatically converts it to a PDF file so that it can be shared and opened easily by the recipient. The file can be sent within private chats or group conversations. The entire scanning and conversion process takes place locally on your device, using Android’s built-in API for snapping documents. The document itself is also only stored locally until you decide to send it. Just like other WhatsApp messages, these scans are secured with end-to-end encryption when you send them to recipients. The only privacy risk is the user sending the PDF to the wrong person. The new feature was first noticed for Android a few weeks ago and with the latest beta it’s rolling out to more people. Once Meta has tested it across a wide array of devices, we will likely see it land for people on the stable version of WhatsApp. In recent weeks, we have also seen that Meta is testing new chat color themes in the beta releases. That feature doesn’t seem to have filtered down to the stable version yet, so be on the lookout for that too if that’s of interest to you.
    • Silly, illinformed comment but thanks for playing anyway. I mean, are you actually comparing a default browser on well over a billion devices with Firefox?
