GTA IV for PC (official)

Recommended Posts

nope, gold pressing just means that they are going to be bringing up the already released version with the version they will be releasing on disk soon

Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation.

Well there you go, you're supposed to fly the helicopter, not drive it :p

Well from what I read once you're in the helicopter the mission is won pretty much. :p The first time I crashed the helicopter, the 2nd time I couldnt figure out how to move it forward(thus letting Pegorino get away), the 3rd or 5th time I finally got it.

I know i've said this alot but helicopter flying sucks. :p Infact I think on the last page of this thread I was ranting about a mission where you have to chase Dimitri while on a helicopter.

I bought this game awhile back, but never installed it. Does anyone know if it still has problems detecting the second card on the 4870x2?

If that has been fixed, I suppose I can play now! For those that have been playing, is it easier with a controller? I have an Xbox 360 controller to use if I have to.

Yep 4870 in crossfire works for me.

I almost got to the end of the game and I accidentally deleted all my saved games.... now I have to start from the beginning... I just got into playing GhostBusters and COD: WoW, so havent had much time to get back to GTA IV.

It does require a lot of time completing the game...

i have a problem in gta iv.

today i overclocked me q9400 from 2,66 ghz to 3,5.everything runs smooth.i ran stress tests and everything runs absolutely smooth.

but i have problem in running gta.

since i overclocked the processor,in random times,gta crushes and i re-open it.

is this some kind of bug?any suggestions?

also i suggest anyone with good graphics card,to remove the restrictions in graphics menu and enjoy the game with full graphics!

GTA movie unlikely to happen

Dan Houser, the vice president of creative at Rockstar Games, this week said that a Grand Theft Auto movie is unlikely, and suggested that even if it were to happen, Rockstar would need to have creative control over the movie. This is what he told the Los Angeles Times:

"We don’t believe that the Grand Theft Auto games, which are massive in scope and structurally complex, can be adequately compressed into a two-hour movie.

"It seems obvious to us that maintaining the long-term integrity of any entertainment property has been dependent on not making substandard spin-off products to people whose primary interest is making a quick buck. If we ever decide to do a film, it will be because we have resolved our creative doubts, and while retaining enough control to ensure that if the movie is terrible, at least we will know we ruined the property ourselves."

TLAD (Lost and Damned) PC trailer Rumours

A few rumours were posted on our forums about the USK ratings and possible new platform versions for TLAD. We've contacted R* about this matter, and as it seems it does get released under the PC platform due to Rockstar submitting the trailers as files for playback on PC.

So, for future referece: It isn't a leak or a mistake, all trailers - no matter for which platform the actual product is released - are listed under PC.

after completing story, what do you guys do in gta4 now (excluding 100% stuff)?

i go to the Burger Shot near Jacob's house - Click here to view the SnapMap .

there i just push the biker gang members down the cliff :D , not manual push, just walk & push them over, so no cops beat our arse.

or i go to this - Click here to view the SnapMap - spot & push people into water :p

most of the time i take Dwayne's goons to 'little italy' for some fun

cop mad at ped -

in this road, there's a church, infront the of church, occasionally a cop has a ped car pulled over & he searches in its boot.

bump the ped car from front, not too fast, just slightly so that the cop falls.

now the cop gets mad at ped inside the car, try & see what happens to that ped.

you can do that anywhere, easy way is at traffic signals :D, bump a ped car towards cops :D

Social Club: Friends and Message Wall Now Available

Two new features are available on the Rockstar Games Social Club - Friends List and Message Wall.

The Friend System allows each Social Club member to create a custom Friends list based on either:

Friends lists taken directly from platforms you have linked to the Social Club.

Your specific Social Club nicknames and/or console identifiers (like a Gamertag).

Once you have created a Friends List you can begin using the Message Wall. The Message Wall is a unique verbal and visual means of mouthing off to your Friends – including a direct message system and customizable personal graffiti wall. Communicate, talk trash with your Friends, and decorate and/or desecrate each other’s Walls at will. More additions will be made to the Friends System and Message Wall in future.

Sigh, I wish this would run better than 6 fps on this rig, I'd be playing it all the time. I guess I could play it on my 360, but I want my mouse and keyboard :(

How is the MP community for GTA4 these days on PC anyways? Anyone playing still?

How is the MP community for GTA4 these days on PC anyways? Anyone playing still?

i play it on my laptop, 2gb ddr2, centrino duo t7250 @2GHz, m8600gs, Windows 7 +gta4 v1.4 patch @800x600 resolution :D

i get 20 fps in times square like areas & 23-25 in other places.

gta4 mp - cheaters still roaming around in it :D

when no cheaters are there, its really fun, one drives & the other(s) shoot. :D

Well on this rig I'm on a AMD64 3200, 2 gigs of ram and a HD3850 AGP. Not exactly cutting edge. Needless to say, last time I tried to play it was a slideshow even on the lowest settings.

I should think so on a system like that :p I'm not saying it's a poor system overall, but for gaming, especially modern gaming, it stands no chance.

    • The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months by Sayan Sen Yesterday, we covered a really good deal wherein you can get a 4TB TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD for a low price of just $400 with a special discount coupon. That's just $100 per TB, making it a very good offer during these hard times. The deal is still live, so you can check it out in its dedicated article here if you do not want to miss out. Meanwhile, if you don't have that kind of budget but still wish to buy an SSD for a good price, the 2TB variant of the TeamGroup SSD at $280 its lowest price in over three months. Meanwhile, those seeking 2TB but faster performance can check out Samsung's 990 PRO, which has hit the lowest price also in the last quarter or so, as it's on sale for $370 (purchase links under the specs table down below). Thus, you want a faster drive, get the 990 Pro, or you want more capacity, grab the TeamGroup 4TB linked in the first para. The 990 PRO is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and still one of the fastest drives available today for under $500. Speaking of fast, sequential reads and writes are rated at 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s, respectively. The random throughputs for reads and writes are 1400K IOPS and 1550K IOPS, respectively. The 990 PRO is based on Samsung's 7th Gen V-NAND flash, and it too is TLC. It packs 2 gigs of LPDDR4 DRAM cache, which helps the random performance. The endurance rating for this is 1200 TBW (terabytes written), which should be sufficient for most users. The Samsung 990 PRO is compatible with the PlayStation 5, but if you are going to use the 990 PRO on a PC, check out the Samsung Magician app that lets you track your drive's health, update its firmware, customize various settings, and more. • If you can't spell a simple word that 2nd graders learn, your entire argument is suspect.
    • And here goes the "Won't someone think of the children" brigade. Get stuffed mate. This has NOTHING to do with making the internet safe. It's about tracking adults, spying on your online activity, and sending the boys around when they don't like something you post. Also, again, parliament have voted TWICE against this, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. THAT is anti-democratic bullsh**. They will use this law to track you, they will use this law to control you, and they will use this law to punish you if they don't like what you do, even if it's legal. And your data? Say bye bye to that. It'll be on the darkweb in weeks. I'm not some rando online. I've been an IT professional for 40 years, many of it in security. I know exactly what this means and what will happen to your data. I do not consent and I will not comply.
    • "...but it may not be Microsoft's fault" seems like a reasonable way to tease what is going on without leaving the user with a false impression that an update is the problem. A title isn't a summery, it is meant to entice the user to read the article. It should not contain a misleading premise; which this title does not. You could maybe complain that the first paragraph should have included that detail. The writing style popularized over 100 years ago in newspapers will cover the most important information as soon as possible with details and nuance added later; the idea being that with each new paragraph you have less of the reader's focus.
    • Samsung Galaxy XR arrives in the UK with new AI and enterprise features by Fiza Ali Samsung is bringing its Galaxy XR headset to the UK several months after the device made its debut as the first headset built on Google's Android XR platform. The headset was first teased in late 2024 alongside Google's introduction of Android XR before making its commercial debut in 2025. Developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, Galaxy XR combines mixed reality experiences with Gemini-powered AI features, allowing users to interact with digital content using voice, gestures, and visual inputs. While the hardware itself remains largely unchanged from the version Samsung unveiled last year, the company is using the UK launch to spotlight several software enhancements that have arrived through recent updates. Among the most notable additions is deeper integration with Google's ecosystem. Galaxy XR users can explore destinations through Google Maps' Immersive View, receiving AI-powered recommendations and contextual information from Gemini while navigating virtual environments. Furthermore, entertainment experiences have also expanded; users can watch 180-degree and 360-degree videos on YouTube, browse spatial content converted into 3D, and ask Gemini questions about on-screen content without interrupting playback. Samsung is also highlighting mixed-reality features such as Circle to Search, which allows users to identify real-world objects through hand gestures while using the headset's video pass-through mode. Another feature automatically converts photos and videos into spatial 3D experiences. Moreover, the headset now also supports Android Enterprise, allowing organisations to manage deployments using existing Android management tools. Annika Bizon, Vice President, Product and Marketing, Mobile Experience, Samsung UK & Ireland, talked about the device, stating: The headset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform and features dual 4K Micro-OLED displays. The tech giant says that users can expect up to 2.5 hours of battery life. Samsung also confirmed that Galaxy XR will continue receiving software and security updates as the company works alongside Google and Qualcomm to expand the Android XR ecosystem. Galaxy XR is now available for pre-order and will go on sale on 8 July. Customers interested in trying the headset before launch can visit Samsung KX in London and selected Samsung Experience Stores from 17 June. Finally, the company will also host a livestream on 19 June showcasing the headset's capabilities and answering questions from prospective customers.
