Microsoft placing "I'm a PC" booths outside Apple stores

Recommended Posts

This is fail. That's the most retarded thing I've ever seen. I can see Apple snickering right now, here they have an iPhone display with one of the arguably best UIs on a mobile phone and Microsoft stick it's horrible ads outside.

If I'm an unknowing customer, the Apple Store looks more appealing than the microsoft booth

I agree, how anyone can think this is effective is beyond me. You've got a permanent infrastructure in the Apple Store with a huge logo and in front is a booth. A freakin booth.

It's like a homeless person setting up a tent in a rich neighborhood.

Microsoft's net worth is how much more than Apple? I don't think Microsoft can be seen as a pov setting up a tent. The booth looks effective and neat.

I'm a PC, and I think Microsoft are being a bunch of crybaby pussies.

...

...not. This is just effing awesome. I look forward to them rigging Toronto's three Apple Stores.

exactly...my....thoughts.

but there is a problem... a lot of the apple stores in Toronto have entrances that face inside the shopping malls they're in. so its gonna be harder to find something to put the ads on.

still though its a smart strategy...

I'm a person, and I think this is stupid.

But Apple started it, and Microsoft is gonna finish it, because each one of those booths contains a homing beacon for the Microsoft Death Ray satellite.

And you call that stupid?!

exactly...my....thoughts.

Not really.

The one in Eaton Centre has a leather seat in front of the Apple Store, so they may have space problems there.

The one in Sherway Gardens has lots of space in front. Same goes for the Yorkville store.

In the OP's picture it appears the booths are inside a mall.

I wonder if they'll allow a person to film themselves saying "I'm a PC, and I'm mooning my ass at the smuggest bastards on earth." Assuming the booth's rear wall faces the Apple Store. :p

    • Personally, I think these things are way over rated and way over priced, even at this price. I recently had Frontier Fiber installed with 2 of these devices and although they worked, I switched back to my own router and AP setup and get way better consistency on wireless speed than with Eeros. Wired speed seems to be more consistent also. Will be returning Eeros soon. I had told Frontier I didn't want them to begin with.
    • Yes, exactly what I have been thinking. Don't make the context menu simpler, make it smarter to learn what I actually use. And then, give me the ability to pin settings that I rarely use but need forget where they are.
