Is it my hardware? All my games LAG!

Recommended Posts

It's an HP. I just bought this PC about 2 months ago.

Model?

You probably don't want to open up your PC because its new in which case your...

That and the fact its likely to have a 350W PSU (power supply unit) to power a new GPU to run you new monitor.

It was like 1300 with the monitor. Where the hell can i see the model??

I just opened it up and there is one slot opened. I have no idea what it is for there is only one tho. Is it for a ram stick a graphics card or it does not matter?

Hmmm, 1300 for that spec? who sold you it? it sounds like you have been ripped off.

Is the slot Horizontal or vertical? and yes it does matter.

I bought my monitor 600 dollars. It's huge and one of the best. Can I change my GPU what is recommended? How much do they cost?

LOL uuhhh.... that better not be USD - and if you spent $1300 in USD on that system -- MAN HAVE I GOT A DEAL FOR YOU!

Q9450

4 Gb PC8500 HYPER X

VELOCIRAPTOR 300 Gb BOOT DRIVE

1 Tb SPINPOINT

X-Fi

BFG 260GTX OC

PCP&C 1KW

ALL FOR THE BARGAIN PRICE OF $10,000 !!!

JUST IN TIME FOR SANTA - I'll even take a check from your parents...well no I wont

Here are some pictures from inside the PC. For the power unit all I can see it 160 watts since its a really small PC everything is stacked in. Will that do for a graphics card the open slot?

To everyone & DannyD ...forget it sorry but thats it.

Your integrated GPU (Nvidia GeForce 6150SE) is almost identical to mine (Nvidia GeForce 6150LE). It wasn't very good due to the fact that it was an integrated GPU; it shares resources with the CPU causing CPU loads to increase and overall performance to decrease.

My solution to the problem was buying a 8500GT, although it is no longer a good video card, it is a hell of a lot better than that 6150, and it is only around 30-40 bucks. (check TigerDirect.com)

you paid $600 for a monitor at 1440x900? :|

you paid $1300 for this system :|

take it back... ripped off.

that case is really too small to handle a modern GPU.... and 160W is way too little to power one.

sorry man, you got ripped off.

i think if you bought it 2 months ago, you're out of luck with the taking it back

if you want to play games and not get ripped off with the 'gaming' computers that manufacturers sell (blue flasy lights etc) i heartily recommending sourcing your own parts and building it yourself

It sucks that generally, you always buy one or two overpriced PC's from a company like HP or shops like Best Buy before you realize your getting ripped off. Hopefully this time you'll actually know what to look out for, OR at least have some idea with a little help from the people here :)

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
