Is it my hardware? All my games LAG!

Umm, it will not fit. Maybe if you cut out a slot in the back of your computer and leave the side of the case off...it might (if your power supply can handle it at all).

I had a full size card in my Shuttle, it fit.

^^ Your shuttle case was not low profile...again, look at the pics he posted. The DVD drive is barely above the motherboard and at the edge of the case, so that means only low profile cards will work. Search newegg for low profile video card and buy something like this:

You get the idea...

Holy crap, it really is 160W, just checked it (http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Multi_Product.asp?mscssid=45A3473F4A794A81915ABC67D1336635&SearchCriteria=~PAVILION~~SLIMLINE~S352).

I hate to say it, but if you live in the USA and paid $1300 for that computer 2 months ago then you got played.

For now, just get the 9500, also, if your monitor is 22" then 1680x1050 is the native resolution and the resolution you should use.

If it doesn't, you already have a video card to go with your new build :D

That's why I recommended him the EVGA card for that 90 step-up program. If Danny does not like the outcome, he can build a new computer and upgrade his video card with minimal loss of funds.

It should be here on the 2nd. Will update everyone soon!

Danny I tell you what If that card does not fit in your system PM me and I will send a Geforce 8400 GS I have laying around (with the low profile adapter) for free just send me the shipping cost back after you get the card and it works.

Hope it works out for you!

^^ How do you know it is not a low profile card they include in the system? It is virtually impossible to have a "slimline" PC that does not require low profile add-on cards. It's a simple matter of the height of the add-on card and the bracket it uses.

It was like 1300 with the monitor. Where the hell can i see the model??

I just opened it up and there is one slot opened. I have no idea what it is for there is only one tho. Is it for a ram stick a graphics card or it does not matter?

Look for a slot that looks like the bottom one in this picture: http://img.tomshardware.com/cn/newsimages/...ic-agp-pcie.jpg

That's a PCI Express slot and you'll need it for any modern video card. It's possible that your computer doesn't have a video slot. I bought an HP Media Center PC once that only had on-board video and no PCI-E slot. It went straight back to the store. ;)

Often a slim-line case will have a daughterboard that the expansion cards plug into so they can lay horizontally.

Where do you see a vertical expansion slot in the case that allows the connectors to be used in the back? Even if there was one, his heatsink or dvd drive would block anything from being put in it.

Well it seems something like that does not exist a connector. I guess I will have to return it ;(

As I said, multiple times before, you need a low profile video card. Search newegg for "low profile video card" and find one that is PCIe and has the GPU of your choice.

I am shocked how everybody here just blindly kept saying it will fit...if you don't know what you are talking about, don't post. Assumption != Fact. This is becoming very annoying on Neowin, and happens in all forums involving help and support.

Yes when you told me it was too late, but I contacted Newegg and I am returning the card now and they will give me a full refund.

Danny, sorry about that. I thought the side of the card would be fine for your case. I've done upgrades in many different styles of cases, and never had to use a low-pro card. My bad.

Are you over 21? I should send you a 6 pack.

EDIT:

I've been looking at prices for the low profile cards and they're such a rip off. I mean, for about 300-400 bucks (maybe less if you part out the computer you're using now) you could have a whole new computer that could take a full size video card and have the power supply to feed the hungry beast.

Any of the low profile cards that will give you a nice jump in performance also require a 300 watt PSU. So if you got a card with lower requirements, it wouldn't be worth the money spent to upgrade. I would really think about building a new computer if you're looking to play games. It's just not worth the money to get a card that's not going to be much better than what you're using now.
