Beautiful Metro, what settings did you use for that shot? Love how the Sea rolls over the stones near the front of the shot.
Im going on a guess here and saying you use a cokin purple shaded sky filter and a wide aperture for the sea mist effect

You got a bigger image of that like widescreen or something, that would look epic as a desktop background on my laptop

I shot at sunset to get the color in the sky and used a 2 stop Lee soft GND and a circular polarizer. I won't touch the Cokin filters because I think they are garbage. I did add a little color to the sky because I didn't get the cast that I wanted, but I have since gone in and softened the saturation because I didn't think it looked too natural.

In terms of tech specs, it was shot at f/22 with a shutter of 1/6 of a second. If you want to capture water, I have found that a shutter speed of 1/8 to 2 seconds is great at capturing the movement, however once you get to 1 second you start to lose the detail but keep the movement. Also shot at 18mm perched on a rock away from the sand since the water was pretty much right at my feet and slowly creeping higher since the tide was starting to come in.

Here's an edit to show you some of the progress I have made from the other:

In terms of high res, I don't make high res available because it makes it easier to steal artwork and print it for personal use. Nothing against you, just a general principle with stuff that has happened in the past.

metro: That's a beautiful shot. Has it snowed yet in Beaverton?

crazzy88ss: Great shots. You're right, the expressions the players give are "intense". I can't say I haven't made a face like that while dunking. The guy in blue (pictures 4 & 5) is hilarious.

It doesn't really snow much here at all. We tend to get freezing rain and ice storms more than anything in this area which I think is worse, especially with the idiots on the road. In my home town, we do get snow but generally it's not too bad. There were a couple years where we had a constant 4 feet in our front yard. One winter when I lived in Southern Oregon, we had almost 10 feet in our front yard. The porch sat about 15 feet high so we jumped off the porch into the snow until it got packed enough for it to hurt on impact. It was fun as hell. We also built a HUGE snow cave with the snow that had been plowed since we had about a 20 foot tower along the road in our backyard on the road. It was such a fun winter that year. I'm so glad I was a kid back then.

Are you using one flash with a green gel, because i see a slight green tint on one side of the players?!

I have two flashes with green gels on each to balance for the fluorescents in the room. I don't know what I did this game, but it's showing up on the players a little bit :( Normally you can't tell.

Could be colour cast from ambient lighting - fluorescents cycle into the green spectrum on a 50/60hz frequency.

Yeah was going to say because in your other shots you cannot tell, maybe they are set at more powerful flash?! so its shown up more?

You really like that spot, huh? :p

It's really relaxing to sit on a park bench, anchor a weight to the tripod, lock the shutter cable, and just watch the city move. I haven't done it in a while and it was time. I just wish I could have caught the sunset we had a few days ago. Darn.

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
