Grand Maester
Is there a way to use the same attachment/image in multiple posts without having to upload it for each post? I recently had need to use the same image in two different threads and had to upload it separately. In the interest of not wasting Neowin's valuable storage space, I'm wondering if there's a way to do this without having to upload a file each time I want to use it even if it has already been used on another post. Fred Derf Veteran Posted December 1, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 1, 2008 Well, you could uplink it once and then hotlink to it using [ img ] tags. Generally we don't encourage cross-posting though.

So am I to understand that there isn't any way to actually show an image in multiple posts? That the only options are to upload it twice or hotlink to it? p858snake
From memory when you go to full reply it should show in the Manage Current Attachments dropdown box and you should be able just to select it from there.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted December 1, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 1, 2008 You may need to look in your control panel to see your attachment history. Grand Maester
Here is an image that I uploaded to Neowin for another post in another topic: Therefore, there seems to be a way to actually show an image in multiple posts. How did you do that? From memory when you go to full reply it should show in the Manage Current Attachments dropdown box and you should be able just to select it from there. Mine is always empty until I upload something specifically for that post. You may need to look in your control panel to see your attachment history.Welcome to your control panel ->Your account summary -->Recent Attachments ---Attached File backyard.jpg ( 102.11K ) Number of downloads: 5 Yeah but how do you take it from there and put it in a post? Rick click onto your previous attachment and choose "Copy Link" (or whatever your browser calls it). Go to your new message and enter [ img ] then paste the url and finish it with [ /img ]. You'll need to remove the spaces to get it to work. For example: [img=https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=203224]
