I have since gone back and seen all of his other movies and I really appreciate his humor. It is different from what many other writers have and I think it is truly unique. I went into Zack and Miri with high expectations and they were definitely met. While this type of humor is not for everyone and it can be offensive at times. It is only when we step back and look at it with open eyes that we can truly appreciate it. I thought Zack and Miri was the most refined package of Kevin Smith's humor. While at times it does have very offensive scenes, and even though the entire movie is about making a pornographic movie, I was able to connect to it. I think that anyone who is willing to go in open-minded and is willing to deal with some offensive, but hilarious content will definitely enjoy this movie. 9/10 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's amazing, because there is a real story line to it and I really felt what the story was suppose to be about. Yes the movie has some very hilarious yet, graphic jokes it still is a great movie. Syanide Posted December 23, 2008 Share Posted December 23, 2008 I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, but this one didn't really work for me. I don't know why... For me Clerks 2 is the best post 2000 film he has made, the term "instant classic", even though I hate, I could apply on that one. Before the credits were over I wanted to watch it again. But this one... I don't know, the atmosphere is definitely there, but I didn't feel half the usual Apatow crew, the humour was kind of different. And the movie is so predictable it hurts. One other thing I didn't like, it's the first time I think Kevin Smith has a movie with a weak plot. Just look at the end of it. "You need to finish the movie! Okay. Makes up with Miri. BLAM! The End". WTF! Did anyone else felt something was missing? I unfortunately did. Both Smith and Rogen need to change something, or they will soon start fading away. I love them both, but Rogen's characters are getting kind of re-played a lot (playing himself that is, it was funny the first few times), and Smith definitely needs to step out of this genre, at least for a little while. The story was a bit predictable, but cheers on the originality of this film! One day i decided to watch it and i was surprised. The movie wasnt bad at all i liked it. I enjoy Kevin Smith's work as well and this movie added to the list.
