Some of it works, but it doesn't work 100% so it's best to un-install so it doesn't create problems :).

ye but when u run in vista or xp mode doesnt integrate with 7 jump list just fixed where when u run normal has that window but everything is integrated no icon in tray status changes in bar and jumplist is fully functional

Works fine for me with the Jump Lists and Vista Mode.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the information. I wonder if Patchou will release a version that's fully compatible with the RC.

Has Windows Live Movie Maker's feaure set outgrown regular Movie Maker's yet?

I sure hope so. The beta seemed pretty limited feature wise.

ye jumplist still work but with vista mode dont see the status inside of the super bar or for example in vista mode right click and look at the jumplist when you are signed in says "sign in", but without compatibility mode every thing is integrated in the super bar. when you are signed in and you right click you will see the jumplist change to signed out etc pretty cool

Can you install it over your beta or should I un-install everything first ?

The installer will automatically install the updates, but there's no harm in uninstalling first :).

Is it RC o final?

RC :). Final due out in January.

As far as I know he has no plans on updating to this RC build seeing as though the final build is going to be released in January.

This is me probably being nitpicky, but I think they should of given you the option to show the display pictures either on the left or right side of the conversation window. I'll probably get used to them being on the left side eventually, but I'm just so used to seeing them on the right side.

It's possible to be moved back to the right side via a Messenger Plus! Live skin. A skinner was able to do it and released a very simplistic skin a month ago, click here for more information.

Thanks, but unfortunately, it's only compatible with an earlier build it seems.

In Windows 7, what's the point of having 2 entries for Live Messenger in the superbar? Is there a way to disable the one that just shows your avatar as a thumbnail?

You'll have to ask the Messenger team about that. My understanding is that they add the user tile window basically as a replacement for the tray icon. However, remember that we haven't even released the beta of Win7 yet and this is very early integration, so of course this design could change, especially if you give the Messenger guys lots of feedback about what you like and don't like :)

Perhaps the Messenger blog would be a good place to do that? http://messengersays.spaces.live.com/blog/

For some reason, they changed the "New Alert" sound back to the original one, but all the other sounds are new.

Edit: They still kept the sounds too quiet. I wish they would fix that. Hopefully in the final build.

On my way to download it. The GUI is Perfect as Live Installer says that I found a quite similar bug that Live Installer asked me to shut down a software that is not relevant to Windows Live Product. Sound's a big problem might turn off the program of .Net Framework 2 (Platform for .Net Framework 2)

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
