Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

Recommended Posts

well, whether it was the strike or not, my conclusion being that both volume 2 and 3 have been sub-par compared to volume 1. but maybe that's just because volume 1 was seemingly more random? people didn't know what to expect and the different heroes were so far apart that every encounter seemed like a magical coincidence, and it was fun. but now that they're all acquainted with each other it seems like the same story over and over.

Either Peter goes into the future and sees something devastating, and attempts to change it, as he did in the past two seasons, or they use Isaacs Paintings to depict a future which they try to avoid. It's basically the same storyline with some twists here and there.

Another few things to point out which really sucked in Volume 3;

Angela + Dad Petrelli: Having the Dad come back was interesting, I admit. But both of them pretending to be Sylars Parents? Cmon. There was never even an indication that this was possible in the First Volume. We all thought Sylars mom was the snow-globe loving woman who he, dramatically, murdered. Now Angela and the husband appear on the scene and claim ownership. Furthermore, it's all found out to be a lie, and they both just happened to be trying to gain his support to kill the other....Seems like a bit of a family feud which would be better left as a side-story. Also seemed like whoever wrote the series couldnt decide whether they wanted the Petrellis to be Sylars Parents or not. IMO: sucked b***s

Traci Strauss: If this woman was as big a politician as they made her out to be, why was she never even mentioned nor appeared on one of the tv's during Volume 1? It seems as if they just wanted a reason to keep Ali Larter on the show, who, I really do not think adds to the cast and/or is worth keeping.

Claires Real Mom: Again, an almost pointless character added to the cast. Minimal Lines. Added emotional attachment between the characters, yet no real purpose.

Future Story-line: In the first episode, I think, of the Volume (3), there was that snippet wherein Peter is killed by Claire, in the supposed future. That was definitely interesting, to see that they had both taken sides. But this was, again, never followed up. They kept mentioning that sides would be made and that the line was going to be drawn, but it seemed as if they never reached that point. However, maybe this will develop in the next volume. I think it would've added to V3 if they had included more scenes from the supposed future.

I think the only two storylines worth following, which, theoretically, were the same storyline, was that of Matt + Daphne and Hiro's past...seeing his mother. Because she was a character who was actually mentioned throughout the first Volume, and to see that she had an ability, just like the rest of the family, sorta tied things full circle. The question which I now have is does this mean that the sister, head of Yamagato, also have an ability, and if so, what?

Anyways, this all being said, I hope they improve for Volume 4, because frankly right now I don't see the show going anywhere. I think anyone who hopes to start watching Heroes this late in should not even bother with the last two Volumes.

Medking

but she's not a politician is she...isn't she someone who works behind the scenes helping certain politicians...and really how often in real life do you see those people...

Some new details about the start of Volume 4, "Fugitives." The arc picks up three months after the end of Volume 3. Claire is getting ready to go to college, when she finds out that her bio-daddy Nathan has created a special section to detain anyone with superpowers. Nathan's mission excludes Claire, Peter and Angela, so Nathan himself won't be exposed as a superhuman. But Claire hears that Nathan's next target is Matt Parkman, so she rushes to save him. Meanwhile, Mohinder and Tracy are still working on developing a new superpower formula (why why why?) and the special properties in Mohinder's blood make him an important factor in fighting the new heavy, the Hunter.

At last, most of the heroes are captured and on a plane en route for Guantanamo Bay. Claire gets loose and tries to free the others. Tracy freaks out and freezes the plane, killing the pilot. The plane crashes, but first Peter jumps out with Claire.

In the second episode, we discover most of the heroes survived the plane crash, but Maya was captured. Meanwhile, we learn more about the Hunter's past ties with HRG and Angela Petrelli. And Hiro and Ando help Daphne search for Matt Parkman, who meanwhile discovers his ex-wife Janice is about to give birth to a son who's important to the Hunter.

In the third episode, Matt's son is born and we see the death of a character who first appeared in Volume Two. (Maya?) In the fourth episode, "Cold Wars," we learn still more about HRG's ties with the Hunter, and a Cold War program that trained people to hunt down superhumans. And in the fifth episode, Sylar infiltrates the team that's hunting superhumans. Sylar discovers his dad is still alive ? and it sounds like he's the team's next target.

And then in the sixth episode, "Shades Of Gray," we discover the whole story about (yawn) Sylar's past. We'll get flashbacks, but no actual time travel. In the seventh episode, Monica (remember her?) reappears, and she's the key to helping some of the heroes escape from captivity. And allegedly, invisible man Claude is back in episode nine. In the penultimate episode of the volume, there will be two major deaths, and in the final episode, there'll be "the mother of all deaths," plus a shocking plot twist. So everyone can breathe easy because those spoilers above are FAKE!

As many could guess yesterday, the Spoilers that we published and the news on the confirmation of 4? Season plus the plans of Tim Kring to finish the series in one seventh season, are a joke that we have allowed the luxury to include to celebrate the day of Santos Inocentes that in Spain is celebrated the 28 of December.

    • Microsoft unveils new Surface Laptop with improved trackpad, Snapdragon X2, and more by Taras Buria Microsoft's new Surface Laptop Ultra generated a lot of buzz earlier this month, but in addition to its most powerful laptop with an NVIDIA chip, Microsoft also has a more affordable laptop lineup, which has been waiting for an update for quite a while. Today, Microsoft announced the eighth-generation Surface Laptop. The new Surface Laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors. These chips offer faster CPU performance, up to 58% faster graphics, and 80 TOPS Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for on-device AI processing. Like the previous models, these chips retain their great energy efficiency, and Microsoft says that buyers can expect up to 20 hours of work on a single charge. The laptop is available in two sizes: 13.8-inch and 15-inch. You will have a hard time finding visual differences between the new and previous models, as Microsoft is not taking any major design leaps, except for the new Jade color, which may look familiar to Surface Laptop 5 owners. Other colors include Platinum, Black, and Dune. The 15-inch variant got a higher-resolution display. It is a 3,270 x 2,180 resolution screen with a pixel density of 262 ppi (the 13-inch model has a 201 ppi density) and a maximum brightness of 600 nits SDR and HDR. Unlike the Surface Pro 12th-gen, which is available with optional OLED displays, the Surface Laptop sticks with IPS, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Another notable change in the Surface Laptop 8 is its trackpad. It now provides haptic feedback when you perform various actions in apps and the operating system. It is a relatively new feature that Microsoft brought to Windows 11 in recent updates, and it is only available on certain devices, such as the Logitech MX Master 4, Surface Slim Pen 2, the upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra, and now the Surface Laptop 8. The new Surface Laptop with the new Surface Pro Like its tablet-shaped sibling, the new Surface Laptop is notably more expensive. It starts at a $1,599 for a 13.8-inch configuration with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. However, in the US, the base model has double the storage while keeping the same price. Available configurations include up to 64GB of memory and up to 2TB SSD (user-removable PCIe Gen4). The Surface Laptop 8 is now available for purchase on the official Microsoft website.
    • Microsoft announces 12th-gen Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 processors by Taras Buria So far, 2026 has been rich in Surface announcements. Microsoft started with a fresh lineup of Surface for Business devices powered by Intel's new Core Ultra 300 processors. Then the company revealed the Surface Laptop Ultra, its most powerful laptop with NVIDIA's RTX Spark processor. Now, it is time for new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models with Qualcomm processors. Microsoft's original Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X1 chips debuted in late May 2024. Two years later, Microsoft is finally updating the lineup with new models featuring Snapdragon X2 processors. The 12th-gen Surface Pro continues the well-established formula of Microsoft's flagship tablet, and Microsoft is not even changing colors, as the tablet will be available in three colors: Dune, Black, and Platinum. The most important changes are mostly hidden inside. Microsoft switched from the Snapdragon X1 to the new Snapdragon X2, which promises up to 53% faster graphics performance than the previous generation and up to 15.5 hours of battery life. The built-in NPU is also much more powerful, and it can run at up to 80 TOPS for on-device AI processing. Like before, the new Surface Pro is available with a 13-inch IPS display, and Microsoft is still offering OLED as a separate, more expensive configuration. Speaking of configurations, the Surface Pro will be available with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite. Microsoft expanded the available RAM configurations to 64GB (previously 32GB was the maximum), while storage remains unchanged at 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of user-replaceable PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The new Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop Other specs remain mostly unchanged. The computer has the same 1440p Windows Hello webcam, two USB4 ports for charging, data, and display output, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, dual speakers, and compatibility with Surface Pro Signature and Flex keyboards. With that said, there is one very important aspect of the Surface Pro that changed significantly, and it is the price. While the previous-gen Surface Pro launched at $999 for the base configuration, in 2026, the entry-level Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2, 16GB of memory, and 256GB will set you back an eye-watering $1,499. To sweeten the pill, Microsoft is running a limited-time promotion where Surface Pro buyers can get a free Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. The promo runs from June 16 through June 30. The new Surface Pro is available now on the official Microsoft Store website.

For workers applying to or already employed at those chains, the implication is concrete: an AI system is assessing their conversational behavior over WhatsApp and phone calls, storing that behavioral data, and using it to inform decisions about whether they are hired, how they are onboarded, and whether they are flagged as a flight risk https://www.techtimes.com/articles/318390/20260615/ai-agents-now-score-taco-bell-kfc-workers-via-whatsapp-day-one.htm
