Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

1 episode left till the finale!

Last nights episode was great! I knew their mother had to of had some sort of power, just couldn't figure out what

Angela has precognitive dreaming, Sister Alice has Weather Control, Father has Shockwave Emission and the Mother well she didn't use any in the show so we don't know.

the episode itself was not bad. It was a good glimpse of the past and why the company was formed. The thing that I thought was horrible was the dialogue. Too many spilling emotions back and forth. Every scene was like, cry on my shoulder some one! Re-watch the claire talking to both her dads part in the shed. It was just so horribly shot. She walks up, starts spilling this person stuff, and then you see hrg and nathan move at the same time, take up poses.... just seemed too staged.

I don't see how you could come to that conclusion. There are multiple eclipses every year.

The show emphasized on the eclipses in the third volume as power sources, but we've seen powers manifest without the existence of one at the particular time.

The Eclipse was never a source of everyones powers, it just happened that there was one to activate the powers of these heroes. Each one affects people differently I believe

I beg to differ. One of the crux's of volume 3 was the eclipse's ability to give and take away powers, one of the sloppiest things the show did to screw itself up. Several sources have been pegged for powers so far.

Name one instance in which you can say, with 100% certainty, that a person manifested a power without there being an eclipse. Other then the formula of course which was an "unnatural" method. Just because you haven't seen the eclipse take place doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

I thought 2 more episodes were left?

Anyways, I think they are building it in a nice way for the season finale. I can't wait!

How is it a cop out? Just 'cause you try and see flaws in everything doesn't mean there are actually flaws in everything. Hell, they even made the point in the first episode with baby Parkman that his power first started to manifest after the last eclipse.

It's a cop out because it's so easy to say, "Because you didn't see X, doesn't mean Y." It's like waving a magical wand and things are magically different or make sense.

Before the eclipse, Claire attempted to kill herself six times, Nikki was tearing bodies to shreds, Hiro was causing hickups in time, Isaac was painting the future, and Peter was absorbing powers. All these things happened before they showed the first eclipse in the season one. Knox first showed his power with no sign of an eclipse. I'm sure there are more examples in the comics of this. Eden is one example, when she told her mom to die. A full, bright moon that night can be seen through the kitchen window, no indication of an eclipse.

Can't you just acknowledge the inconsistencies in the eclipses and powers? Evolution being the source is what the show originally started with, and it should have stuck with that because it made sense. I should've known mentioning the eclipse would have ruffled some feathers, heaven forbid I want this show to make some kind of sense in one of its most dynamic elements.

The source of the powers still a result of evolution though, there has been a clear definition that there is a DNA source of powers. The real question is what does the eclipse do? I could be something as simple as it causes the powers to manifest or, more likely, it just alters the potency of the powers. This has yet to be explained in the show, nor have they really even tried to. All they have really said is that the eclipses have a significant effect on those who have the genetic makeup for abilities. Just because something is unexplained does not mean it is inconsistent.

I have always thought that the powers are due to Evolution (DNA based) and always has been. However I dont think the Eclipse is "giving" people powers suddenly, negating the evolution cause. I think for some reason the Eclipse had some sort of effect on humans that either sped up the development of their abilities and brought them out earlier than normal, and for some reason temporarily took away peoples powers until the eclipse was gone.

I think its sort of like when theres a full moon out, people start to behave differently and act differently on full moons, I forget but theres some sorta saying that goes with a full moon. Something along those lines.

I really dont think the eclipse is directly related to "giving people" powers. I just think its a side event that has an effect.

Again i think you jumped to conclusions too fast with that issue. Never once did I think the eclipse was the reasoning behind powers but an indirect cause or relation to powers. Again I never heard them mention anything about the eclipse being the source of powers.

    • I think you meant the "ntfs3" driver, but yes there have been a lot of fixes for it in this release and previous releases, not 100% sure if the issue you mentioned is fixed though. In any case, the new "ntfs" driver in 7.1 doesn't have that issue (at least, no reports of such have come thru), but your kernel needs to explicitly enable support for the new driver first (like how CachyOS kernel has it), and you need to edit your mount points in /etc/fstab to use "ntfs" instead of the other drivers.
    • Epic Games says Unreal Engine 6 will help developers "build content faster" using AI models by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Epic Games is rolling out the latest major update to Unreal Engine 5 today, and at the same time, the company also dropped some information on the next-generation version of the product, Unreal Engine 6. This was already revealed a few weeks ago alongside the new Rocket League upgrade reveal. The company says it is combining the features of Unreal Engine and Unreal Editor for Fortnite to create this new version of its popular media creation tool. On top of creating entire games, the new engine will also focus on letting developers operate large-scale live service titles more easily, whether by shipping content into their own ecosystems or into Fortnite. The use of large language models is also mentioned here, with Epic saying it will be a core part of the engine. "We see LLMs, generative AI models, and tools like Claude and Codex playing a central role in helping you build content faster while maintaining the creative control you need," adds the company. Here is the rundown of what's new about version 6 of Unreal Engine: With all these changes to the programming model, portability upgrades, and generative AI integration, Epic says the new version of the engine will "change a lot about how games are made." The company aims to ship Unreal Engine 6 into early access in late 2027, with a full release planned for 12-18 months later. Epic Games also dropped a lengthy blog post about the new Unreal Engine 5.8 update for game developers over here. The release is focused on delivering better performance, customization, and streamlined workflows for development teams. This will be the final major update for this version of the engine before Epic switches to focus fully on Unreal Engine 6's early access launch.
    • Watch Louis Rossmann's recent experience on YouTube about trying to get a warranty replacement from Samsung. It's crazy.
    • That is the thing, how many of these people don't realise they are using AI? If they use Google Search they have no choice but to use AI. So yes, maybe half of American adults do use and I expect a lot of Uk adults do to, but I bet most of them don't realise it. Myself, i avoid the rubbish.
    • They use FREE AI. They aren't paying for this meme-generating slopware...
