Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

Recommended Posts

Hes not the star though, and they have barely promoted him.

The show isn't going to last much longer anyway, I'd say 2 more seasons max. They can easily keep anyone they want for that long.

Yeah true all I ever see is Chris Pine but I feel they have played alot of the new Spock clips so he is up there granted not the top billing...Tim Kring set end of Season 5 as an end date so its going to be that.

2 more season max? They'd struggle to get that. I've always seen Zack as the star. Heroes is the kind of show when their all the "main characters" though they try make Hayden seem like the star. imo.

Well they have next season already, and I see them giving the show one more to wrap everything up after that. So yes, 2 more.

As far as the 'stars', I watch the show for Hiro and Matt. If either one of them was to die, I would stop watching.

I meant that Quinto wasn't the star of Star Trek, btw, not that he isn't the star of Heroes.

Ah.. my bad. I find Hiro's character a little too childish and stupid but he's okay sometimes. I think Matt is one of the best characters though :)

This is true, but Hiro is the only one who wants to be a hero on the entire show. The rest of them will do what needs to be done, but Hiro really believes in it.

No, we don't. Thats what ruined the show in the first place when they listened to people wanting more fighting, and it continued to nosedive into the crapper from there.

Ok it's obvious No matter what you always complain about Heroes.

Why you continue to watch it?

God. Some People!!!

Plenty of people agree Heroes was Better with the "Villians" volume!!!

I am not so sure this "Fugitives" volume is better at all!

It seems pointless to me, when you have all these characters with powers, they don't use it to battle each other.

I mean, this is NOT a standard drama, it's supposed to be Action Sci-Fi show!

Villains was absolutely awful all the way through.

Also, in this case I wasn't complaining about the show, but about your idea of what the show needed.

Without a doubt, the best Volume of Heroes was Volume 1. And in V1, they had barely any 'battles' or anything of the sort. Sylar killing people and Kirby plaza was just about everything. A couple future scenes cover the rest.

The show doesn't need any more battles.

No, it isn't. Thats what you want it to be, but it wasn't that originally. Do you remember the original tag line? 'Ordinary people discovering extraordinary abilities' It was supposed to be a drama about how these 'ordinary' people. Once they started to turn it into something else (quite frankly - to cater to people like you), is when it lost its way and became a meandering wasteland of recycled plots, bad acting, and wasted episodes. Haven't you noticed that the last few episodes, (which everyone agrees have been much better - before this week) don't have the things you are looking for in them?

Of course Season 1 wasn't bad, but it was just the BEGINNING. It's MAIN purpose was to introduce these characters, so not much battle was expected.

However, Characters suppose to EVOLVE!

What happens when characters Evolve? The Good BATTLES Evil, that's WHAT!

The Bottomline is this show is NOT for you NO MORE, you complained during Villians, here you again complain about Fugitives.

We are Tired of you complains!

You should just Quit watching, cuz I don't think this show is ever going back to the way season 1 was, cuz like I said, the part about Introducing characters is OVER!

Originally, the series was supposed to have a new cast every season. So they would be introducing new characters each season. But that had nothing to do with why S1 was good. It was good because the scripts were good, the story made sense, there wasn't a plot hole every 15 feet, and many, many other things. It didn't have anything to do with the fact there weren't any 'battles'.

If you agree that S1 was good, then why do you want the show to be completely different than it was when it was good?

Oh look, its your Smallville excuse "If YOU Don't LIKE it, change THE Channel! This IS the BEST show Ever!"

Well they've had a lot of "fights" but making more "battles"then it would end up even more like x-men.

There really haven't been that many, though. And when they are, they are usually really short and don't rely on powers that much. Which is fine.

But to say that we need more of them is completely wrong.

But to say that we need more of them is completely wrong.

Here you go again, forcing your OPINION as Facts!

:|

I want to see more fights/battles, but after all it's just my OPINION. I am certainly not gonna justify it as a fact or anything!

Well they've had a lot of "fights" but making more "battles"then it would end up even more like x-men.

Well, then I suppose the Fact is everybody watches THIS particular show all for different reasons!

More like X-men, definitely FINE with me. :)

In the end, maybe they shouldn't listen to people at all,if they sticked with their original plan maybe things would have been better, I mean the viewers don't want what's best for the show and not giving what the viewers want is part of the magic. I mean I find it really weird for this show to be guided so much by it's viewers.

Ok,so we love peter, sylar etc,but who knows if the writers sticked to their original plan,to renew most of the heroes every season,it would have made a difference. I mean there are other potential heroes out there that can be just as good as peter or sylar. What's the fun of the show if the viewers get to influence the show so much.

So what if an awesome hero or villain dies? Just give him a unforgettable ending and it will be just fine, and leave room for new heroes and new ideas. The writters in the end know what's best for the show and not us viewers. This is exactly what they did to daphne but her death really made her even more memorable, and as far as I know that was Bryan Fuller handy work who was one of the original writters.

Her significance ended when Sylar got her power

What ever happened to her being the catalyst - what did Sylar actually do to her when he took her powers.

Also - what ever happened to the Irish girl that Peter fell for, what happened to the virus that seemingly disolved into Peter. They should stick to some of the older story arcs before creating new pointless and boring ones (like the whole Angela's sister / 1961 story).

Irish girl was lost in time to a future that never happened, the virus Peter burnt up in his hand so it was destroyed and you can't really get much older then actually finding out about the original company.

So, writers/producers didn't intent this to be an Action Sci-Fi show?

That's exactly what we're saying when you look at how this show started off. Season one's finale wasn't a power spectacle bonanza for a reason.

That's exactly what we're saying when you look at how this show started off. Season one's finale wasn't a power spectacle bonanza for a reason.

Are you sure?

I already explained that Season 1 is that way for A reason, it's just to introduce these characters, but as seasons progress, I expect characters evolve, get MORE powerful. MORE battles.... but maybe I had it all wrong.

Maybe you are right, maybe I was expecting a different type of show .

Who knows?

Anyway we can find out for sure?

The problem with the show is that the seasons (or volumes) were supposed to be able to stand on their own, like people have said before. Thus, Hiro, Peter, and Sylar were all given broken powers in the first season. The writers never intended for these guys (at least not ALL of them) to stay around more than a season. When they did decide to keep them around, they had to figure out ways to restrict or limit their powers.

THAT is what ruined this show. Sylar lost his powers but got the cure from Mohinder at end of Volume 2/start of Volume 3 - but he lost all of the ones he acquired to that point, except for telekinesis. Only now with Claire's healing, the ability to detect lies and shape shifting is he starting to become really powerful again. Peter had his powers taken from Arthur Petrelli but then injected himself again, which gave him a limited portion of his original powers. Hiro lost his powers to Arthur too, but now is able to use his with Parkman's kid.

So what you now essentially have is a bunch of once-powerful people running around, merely shadows of their former self. Add to that the fact that we have not been able to retain any significant contributions since Season 1 (Maya is gone, Elle is dead, Flying Boy from Season 2 is gone, Daphne is dead, Micah's cousin with muscle memory, Claire's mom is dead, most of the villians from Season 3 are dead besides the Puppet Man) and what you have is an increasingly stale show.

    • Samsung is shutting down yet another app used by millions by David Uzondu Samsung has announced that it is shutting down Samsung Max, its VPN service used by more than 50 million people, effective today. Samsung Max VPN, if you don't know, was an Android app born on February 23, 2018, out of the ashes of Opera Max, a very popular data-saving VPN that Opera had discontinued the previous year. Samsung bought the discontinued service, rebranded it, and added a native Samsung UI to fit the Galaxy ecosystem. The app could do things like compress images, help you manage background data on a per-app basis, reduce video data consumption, shrink music files, optimize webpages, block advertisement trackers in incognito mode, and encrypt your internet traffic on public Wi-Fi networks. Image via SammyGuru If you open the app now, you'd be greeted by a shutdown banner warning that all VPN, data saving, and privacy services stopped functioning on June 15, 2026. The creators failed to provide a reason for the shutdown, instead publishing a farewell note that read: "Thank you for being with us over the years. Your support and activity truly meant a lot to us and helped shape this app into what it became." This same message appears on the Google Play Store listing for the app as well. Max VPN is the latest service from Samsung to join the list of discontinued applications from the company. Just two months ago, the Korean tech giant announced that it is completely shutting down Samsung Messages, forcing millions of users to migrate to Google Messages by next month. The only devices that the shutdown won't affect are older smartphones running Android 11 or lower. Some of the features of Google Messages that Samsung hopes will entice users include AI-powered scam detection to block suspicious links, integrated Gemini AI tools to generate quick replies, custom chat bubbles, and universal RCS compatibility for sharing high-quality media with iOS users. The platform also offers seamless syncing across tablets and smartwatches. In addition to that, users gain access to message scheduling, smart classification, and automated category sorting. • 1. Define "better". 2. It's still more expensive than equivalent PCs so... And there is not one Windows platform. This is the mistake ALL Apple oriented people make. Apple is one OEM. You could reasonably compare them to one PC OEM, say Dell or HP. But you can't compare them to ALL PC OEMs. Case in point, Apple has NO touch screen MacBooks. No tablet Macs. There are no rugged Macs. The variety of PC OEM design is insane. With Apple, you have... Apple. The problem is that you're starting with Apple as the definition of "good" then filtering out anything that isn't close to an existing Apple product, then trying to homogenise all of those left into a fictional product line and then ignore any innovations to create a minimal feature subset so you can say "See! Apple better!" PS: I was an Apple dev for 17 years and helped develop MacInTalk and disability solutions for Apple, and worked on Microsoft Office for MacOS - and I have several Macs and MacBooks - so tread very carefully.
    • Major Xbox layoffs may claim South of Midnight developer Compulsion entirely by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft has been making major changes in its gaming wing Xbox for a few months now, including the appointment of a new CEO, a large number of leadership changes, and strategy shifts. However, the company is seemingly also looking at initiating a major layoffs wave at Xbox and perhaps even a studio closure. The new report lands from Kotaku, Xbox first-party developer Compulsion Games is being shuttered soon by Microsoft. For those unfamiliar with the studio, it's the team behind Contrast (2013), We Happy Few (2018), and South of Midnight (2025). Its latest game was quite well received, even winning a Peabody Award for its writing. It even received a 9/10 in Neowin's own review, highlighting its engaging storyline, gorgeous world, and curious characters. The studio joined Xbox Game Studios in 2018, just as Microsoft announced it is acquiring Playground Games, Undead Labs, and Ninja Theory. Despite recent listings for new staff roles, according to the new report, Compulsion Games is being closed entirely, with over 90 staff being let go. Kotaku also added that the studio's leadership is in negotiations with Microsoft about this decision, but no official details have been revealed yet. The report lands just as two senior managers of Xbox leave their posts at Microsoft Gaming. Head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan and chief of staff Louise O'Connor originally began their journey in Rare and have been a part of Xbox for over two decades. Dunkan has been responsible for games like Kinect Sports and Sea of Thieves, while O'Connor was primarily working on Rare's Everwild project before its cancelation. If this report about the studio shutdown is accurate, this may just be the start of a major new layoffs wave at Xbox Game Studios. There are also rumors of Arkane Studios being heavily affected. As always, take all these reports with a grain of salt until something official materializes from Microsoft or the studios.
    • The flaw with this analysis is that this laptop has a cellphone CPU in it. In the Intel world, that would be an N150 and those are everywhere, even in low end laptops. You can get an N150 based NUC with 16GB RAM and 256GB-512GB SSD... NOT soldered in... for < $500 Canadian (around US$360). The problem is two fold: tech bloggers/writers on most tech site (like this one, ironically) overvalue Apple and apparently aren't in the same earnings class as most regular people. As a result, we get breathless articles about how everyone needs a folding phone when most people just cannot afford one... or really need one. And we get Apple used as the baseline metric regardless of whether that comparison makes any sense. If Dell or HP released a retail laptop with a cellphone motherboard, you'd be all over them for doing that - but Apple does it and it's genius. I see articles suggesting what Samsung - a company that basically started the foldable phone market and has built them for eight years - needs to do to compete with Apple's unreleased, unspecced and unseen folding phone. Sorry, no - if the Neo (really creative name there BTW - still, better than the Go, the other "creative" product name everyone's using) encourages PC makers to make cellphone laptops using lower end ARM processors, we all lose. It's a step backwards and a capitulation to the fact that semiconductor makers and computer OEMs (and tech bloggers) have totally lost the plot.
