Sorry for double posting, but I didn't find the Edit button. Another thing that I think is probably a bug is an ULTRA wide empty space when you right click at any item in Libraries folder. Here is a screenshot:

I have a similar problem too except with the Jump List on the Taskbar.

See the pictures for explanations.

The first screenshot shows IE8 Jump List with items with long names. If we immediately open the Jump List of the next item (any item) on the Taskbar, then that item's Jump List is abnormally wider.

You must open the two jump lists consecutively without touching your keyboard.

I preferr the WMP 11 look

About the ULTRA wide empty space when right clicking items in Libraries, I found a solution in Windows 7 Build 7000 (beta 1) QnA! thread by x-byte:

I found a workaround for this.

Open Winrar and go to Options -> settings -> integration

And then uncheck "icons in contex menus".

Seems to solve the problem. :)

I think this also happens after playing a game or any full screen application. Same problem in Vista.

It also happens if a programs window have been minimized for a while. The program doesn't update its GDI window and Windows has nothing to show except an icon. I don't know if this will ever be improved as it would be difficult to page out minimized programs.

External Hard Drives formatted in the HFS+ filesystem are unreadable in Windows 7, Disk Manager tells you the disk is unrecognizable and needs to be initialized, which results in your drives partition table being overwritten. Vista on the other hand initializes the disk fine and it is accessible.

When you create a new standard account and login any window I open cannot be moved, resized, minimized or maximized. I have to click the taskbar icon for that window and click close window.

Is this a bug or just something wrong with my setup. The main account works fine.

Not sure about anyone else, but I`ve been having some explorer.exe bugs, well if it can be called a bug.

What happens is after about 30 or so minutes of regular everyday PC use of Win 7 7000, explorer.exe stops responding to everything.

And when I goto "Computer" and try to access one of my hard drives it just sits there with that green progress bar running in the

"address" field. That`s all it will do, nothing more. I can`t access any files/folders at all it just sits there loading. Eventually after all of that, the whole window goes blank, no libraries, no favs, nothing...

And opening Task Manager and ending explorer.exe offers no help either.

It just sits there, the process will not properly end, everything on the desktop, taskbar and all the usual stuff disappears too, but the process keeps running.

Also when running another instance of explorer.exe via the File->New Task(Run)... option does nothing either.

This is truly driving me insane right now. I love using Win 7 and don`t really want to return to Vista, but I have no problem doing so.

If it means I`ll finally be able to use my PC.

My PC Specs:

AMD Ahtlon 64+ 3400

1.5gb Ram

320gb HDD Space (3 IDE Drives)

Windows 7 Build 7000

Nvidia GeForce 8500GTS 512mb PCI-E x16 [Will edit this one later, need to find out what exactly this card is :)]

And I apologize if this was posted in the wrong thread/topic. But I hope someone can help me out, otherwise here in the next hour or so I`m going to have to re-install Vista SP1 again *shudders at the thought of it right now*.... :(

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

This happens to me too, and I fear it may be hard drive related. Occasionally I hear a 'click' as a hard drive spins up now and again, not necessarily when being activated. The issue is probably that the HD stops spinning, W7 tries to re-access it but the HD doesn't start, and causes explorer to endlessly wait.

Even so, I had the clicking drive issue on Vista, but had no problems of this sort. The problem is, I'm unsure which drive is faulty (out of 4), and ActiveSmart reports no errors. Guess I'll have to consolidate some data, and test them all to find the problem.

after switching between display modes (single -> dualview / dualview -> single) the windows peeks give no thumbnail.

That occurs because the DWM has to reset itself during the change, and if your applications are minimized, they aren't going to repaint previews for you.

I wonder what Microsoft is going to do about it...Maybe a DWM helper to temporarily store window data while it goes down? Seems unelegant, though.

When using Chrome to browse web, hovering over a picture near the bottom of the screen, the tooltip appears under the superbar.

This is a Chrome's feature. When you hover a link or picture near the left side of the screen, the URL appears under Chrome's window not to interfere with what you are watching. It?s the same in Vista.

GPU issue with Directx11. Unable to run Aero, play video files in wmp, run Direct3D screen savers, etc.

Computer locks when trying to play video files. Display freezes but cpu and hd appear to still work.

Computer locks when running the Windows Experience Index (most likely when checking graphics performance)

Computer is a Compag X1010us laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9200. The currently installed driver for the ATI card is an XP driver from 2004.

I am pretty sure it has to do with the display driver, however I have spent days looking for a Vista or Win7 driver and have come up empty.

When I allow windows to look for a driver it finds one, however, when the system reboots the display is garbage. there is a double image with lines all over the place.

Any suggestions? thoughts? others with the same issues?

Thanks.

Note: Previously running Win XP SP3 with no issues. Video played back just fine under DirectX 9 (10?)

Beta version of Windows 7 is 7000

Your GPU only supports DirectX8. There are no Vista or 7 drivers for it and aero will never work on it.

(As an administrator) I'm not allowed to change the name (label) of the partitions. But after closing the error messages it changes them.

The Windows drive logo (from the C: [Windows] drive) disappeared, right now it looks like just a simple partition.

Right now I don't have the normal partition names, only this what I can see in Explorer:

C : \ ( C: )

D : \ ( D: )

Silly...

Update:

None of the device names are displayed... great... :x

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
