1. Why can't we get keys/when we will be able to?

Some info on the use of Keys:

A product key is a long sequence of letters and numbers that?s used to activate the Windows 7 Beta and ensure your copy is genuine. (See Activating Windows: frequently asked questions.)

When you download the Beta you?ll be given a product key. (See Installing the Windows 7 Beta.) Be sure to use the product key to activate the Beta within 30 days, or the Beta?s functionality will be limited. Your product key will work for up to three separate computers, so if you want to install the Windows 7 Beta on another PC, you can re-use the same key.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, just go back to the Download page and begin the installation process again. You?ll be asked to enter your Windows Live ID, and then you?ll see your product key you were originally issued. You can then use this product key to activate your software?you don't need to download the operating system again.

6Mins to go, maybe 5

Well after using it as my main OS for the past 2 days, I've decided to go back to XP. Win 7 is cute and all, but I get a lot a program and process crashes. Word 2007 crashes constantly and the only way to reuse it again is to reboot. Visual C++ 2008 crashes a lot also. Every time I open the control panel, some dll stops working and the whole control panel crashes. Windows Explorer has crashed a few times as well. Oh well, It's a beta after all so I knew I would encounter some problems. It's just the problems I encounter are way too annoying for me to stand on a daily basis.

What did you do? Nobody else that already has it seems to be reporting that many problems.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
