What should I do?

Glad I got mine earlier.

Yeah, the page is doing odd things now. One time I saw a Page Not found message that had a lot of MS search links, and the rest of the time its Cannot display This Webpage. I'm not even getting the Server Is Too Busy messages now. Seems they're doing something...

No joke guys i was getting server errors on the neowin forums LMFAO.

If you guys are like me i am going from checking the comments on the main page, to checking this topic, to 5 different tabs just reloading the beta key page over and over and over and OVER.

This is it. This is exactly why the Akamai servers @ Microsoft are down. This method of adding fuel to a raging fire will not fix the problem.

Interest in Microsoft?s new operating system, Windows 7, is apparently significantly greater than the software giant had anticipated ? the company?s servers ground to a halt almost immediately they opened for business from developer subscribers earlier today. Now, with the number of global downloads for the general public limited to just 2.5million, it?s likely that the free beta stocks will run out almost instantly.

This is despite the company?s official recommendation that typical consumers consider the beta as simply an experiment that?s primarily only suitable for the technically very literate and those pride themselves on being ?early-adopters?.

In fact, however, the high-level of demand has been building for months. Windows 7 has proved itself to be unusually popular with developers, who have praised the operating system for being stable, efficient and more intuitive than its predecessor Vista was at an equivalent stage in development.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
