This was a real great effort to show the ineptitude of Microsoft and Ballmer. How could they not have known the heavy demand for Windows 7. Just look at all of the peoples time that they wasted today? Very poor way to start Windows 7. If the public is leary of Vista, what will they think now?? I have read in places such as CNET that people that were lucky enough to get a key are having problems using them. The keys don't always work.

ive tried both

https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/sc...w&LCID=1033

and

https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/pr...us/default.aspx

i dont get when im doing wrong here im

1) logging into technet

2) pasting the url and hitting enter

3) staring at an error message no matter how many times i hit f5.

steven, can i give you my live id maybe you can make it happen?

Maybe I should just post my key...I would be the jesus of Windows beta! I can't believe the devotion people have for obtaining a key for a beta product...Apple could only dream of such clientel.

Or send it to me :)

Steve Jobs is CRA&&ING his pants! this is a beta and it brough MS to their Knees!

Personally i have used vista for 2 years and i love It i have had none of the annoying problems i had with XP constant reboot ect...

I have not had a blue screen or any other problems other than going to network places has a delay sometimes. Nvidia is to blame for Vistas bad name, their drivers were so crappy to start with.....

You're not doing anything wrong, you're on the right track... you'll just have to keep pressing F5

Maybe you want to clear out your internet settings and try it all over again, if so, follow these instructions exactly:

Don't hand out your live id :p, you're on the right track

I give up, I just can't download the iso. Latest attempt failed at 22% (about 576meg), despite using that DownThemAll firefox plugin someone recommended.

A key but no iso, how utterly irritating.

mind sharing it with me? please :)

There's only so much they could do to deal with server problems. Can't do much about it; and besides, if you're that damn impatient there ARE other ways to get Windows 7 now. Don't have a key now? Just wait till tomorrow. How do you think the rest of us who ran the leaked builds coped with it?

People must be very naive to not anticipate heavy server congestion when it comes to certain hot releases (i.e. Firefox 3's release) or a LARGE download of beta software. Oh and by the way, the general computer illerate public is probably oblivious to all this; just those that have the slightest interest in tech are part of the masses mashing F5 on their keyboards right now.

For the record, the key I got activated successfully on the leaked 7000 32-bit build.

so which link? the first or second?

They could have been more proactive and made sure that the servers they had would handle the load. After all of this hype did they not believe many many people would be trying to download it? They can't be that dumb, just cheap. When I BETA tested Office 2007, they sent me the DVD's. This has turned into a circus.

with my multiple account (lol) i've 8 key ( 4x32 + 4x64 )

That is just cruel.

Just download the torrent...the iso is identical bit by bit.

You should be able to get a 64 bit key faster, and it works for 32 bit installations

I got keys for both 32 bit and 64 bit... just make sure to copy and paste the links into the technet window, and yeah, you'll get your key... eventually...

Dont be greedy, hand some out. One key will activate 10 pcs.

No, I dont want one. I already have one.

BTw I got a error message like this :

Hmm :/ lol.

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.

A major compiler is used for both x86/x64 and WoA64 architectures. This also means that all core libraries are re-compiled accordingly which required some changes in the build scripts. One of the core libraries (cURL) has been updated to address vulnerabilities and a nasty linker error that was causing the need for a dedicated patch which could now be eliminated.
