I would not spend $3.50 for a subscription. What occurred yesterday has really soured me towards Microsoft.

You make it sound like they took away something you'd PAID for, or something. Why don't you grow up and get over your entitlement issues? MS owe you, or anyone else, nothing; they don't HAVE to make these beta's public at ALL you know...

When i installed on windows update, there were

Beta graphics driver

beta audio driver

beta network driver

quick question, how did u get windows update to work if your network driver wasnt installed yet? sorry if that sounded like a noob question but i think its only logical to think you can't access the internet until your network driver is installed

Well when i installed 7 on my machine it had a driver out the boxx for my network and wifi but when i went to windows update there was an "updated" driver for my LAN card and several other devices.

The network card could be his LAN while he's using WLAN to access the network. 7 has lots of drivers for various WLAN cards.

You have a point. But on the other end, MS has a monopoly and we are all forced to use it unless we want to use OS's that none of our friends/family are going to use/share stuff w/. For that reason alone they need to be more on it. I dont care if it's free or not. Any operating system that MS releases is going to affect the world as we know it. And they know it also. So they should be a little more considerate about something that were pretty much forced to use unless we want to use mac/linux. NOT SAYING that mac or linux is bad, but lets just be real here and honest.

You will always get the same key, unless you log in with a different live account.

No. I just got 4 different 32bit keys simply right clicking and reloading the page in FF

Any one know if you can use Win-7 in a multi-boot setup... Vista or WinXP ?

Thanks

Those are from lifehacker but they work.

I don't understand why people are getting so annoyed with this. This is a beta, not a release of the operating system. It means that once installed, you will run into problems, find that somethings don't work as they should, and that you may be troubleshooting more then using it. This is the beta process. This is not a trial as many seem to think.

Either way, if I don't get a key in the end I won't lose any sleep over it. I just hope the people who do get the keys will use them for the right reasons and not for their own selfish gains.

I just set up a dual boot with WinXP with zero issues. Works just like Vista in that regard. If you want to blast it again (under XP anyway) just need to delete the partition, boot into XP recovery mode, fixboot and fixmbr and off you go.

And just an FYI, I just got into the site and got some keys. Zero wait, popped right up. Win7 is sweeeeeet. Runs great on my main system. Horribly disappointed to see them drop support for the nForce2 chipset though; runs great on my older test system too, but no drivers for the motherboard, networking, etc :( Pity, as it runs just fine on that old AthlonXP too.

Microsoft does not have a monopoly, but a few years ago they almost did as the United States (U.S.) government was on them. Microsoft only has an eighty percent, and higher majority in the operating system market. Apple Co. has maybe 10%, following Unix operating systems.

In another note, I've successfully installed Windows 7 Ultimate from MSDN. MSDN is in the thousands per year for a subscription, but it has a lot of tools, and applications from the past, and present. Technet is a lot cheaper, and so if you want to be a better beta experience downloading any Windows operating system then I would advise for you all to subscribe to Microsoft Technet.

If you need a Windows 7 64-Bit Key (Only One), contact me.

The only issue I have now is attempting to send feedback as it seems that I can't access Microsoft Connect with my account. Any suggestions how to solve this issue?

That's the case now. They changed it, it seems that they removed the 2,5m limit too (because many people are getting the same keys). Before even if you ran like 300 tabs with c4c/greasemonkey, you'd get 300 identical keys (but different from what another live login would get).

    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
    • 🤦🏻‍♂️ No, expected because 10 EOL
    • Dude, it's a .reg away from a permanent modification. If you're a power user, look it up and keep the .reg and stop being a crybaby expecting MS to include customization for everything on a generalist OS. The default is what's the best UX for the majority of the userbase, non techie people.
