Cyber Nemesis
I have 5 years worth of MiniDV tapes that I am finally getting around to putting on DVD. My new years resolution. I have a Firewire cable and Vista x64 8GB of RAM and a quad core processor. Right now if I plug the MiniDV camcorder into the Vista desktop Windows Movie maker opens and lets me make DVDs. My question is, is this the best software to use? Is there some other package I should be look for? Don't need anything professional, just want to share with family (the recent ones). SinghKing
You could try Sony Home Studio or Nero 9 for capturing and editing. If your only going to share family then Nero 9 is powerful. I know a few people that are using Nero for editing and exporting to DVD and it works great. Your PC spec is good if your using something a little more intense such as Vegas Pro or Premiere. The other products you could look at is Cyberlinks PowerDirector or PowerProductor. Most of their new products are multi-core optimized so your exporting would be much quicker.
