Yes, I recommend ESET Smart Security, too!

And I use it "free": there is a free promotion code in PC World (Hungary) in every month with which I can have a legal, working registration code for 30 days (approx.). I buy the magazine and I got the code. It's a really good offer for me!

I've being using Avast free home user version so far with no problems with Windows own firewall.

Tried Kaspersky Windows 7 Beta, but that caused me all sorts of problems when installing programs, even blocked Windows Live Essentials from installing (even though I had answered allow to all the firewall alerts that popped up).

im looking for a free solution. what firewall other than the windows one works ? how about free antivirus solutions ?

try winsupersite.com then compatibility then software

here is what they said...

''Anti-Virus. I've tested both Grisoft AVG-Free (which, as its name suggests, is completely free) and ESET NOD32 on the Windows 7 Beta and both work perfectly. I do not recommend security suites in general, but will test products like Norton Internet Security 2009 in the future as well. Update: One thing I haven't done is tested ESET NOD32 on the x64 version of Windows 7 Beta. I will do this soon.''

I have installed ESET, Norton 360 Beta 3, AVG, and Kapersky. Although they all seem to work correctly - the network adapter filter causes tdx.sys BSOD on my system every time. I have unchecked only the filter and still BSOD's. So I am naked now :) Scary thought lol

Just FYI..
