Elliot B.
I have some footage recorded in 16:9 by my digital video camera. I have set the Premiere Pro CS4 project settings to DV PAL Widescreen and when editing, everything previews in widescreen (within the 'source' and 'program' tiles) correctly. When I choose to export the footage however, I select 16:9 but the outputted video is always in 4:3. One thing I've noticed is that whenever Premiere Pro mentions 'widescreen', it always shows '720x576' next to it, which is 4:3, not 16:9. Any ideas? lunamense
16:9 video is output at 720x576, yes, but the pixel aspect ratio is not square :) The pixels for widescreen DV are generally 1.46:1. Take a look at the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_aspect_ratio
SiCKX
Depends on what you play it. If you play it on a DVD player,it will play as 16:9 if it's flagged as Widescreen and you used the proper Pixel Aspect Ratio. If you really want to,crop the vid to something like 720x408 or closer (remove the black bars) using VirtualDub.Then start any project on that "special resolution" leaving the Square Pixel AR.
